Clayton thinks Rudi will play.
Clayton "thinks"? I need something more definite than that. I think if Rudi is active, he will get the majority of the load.
I'm just telling you what Clayton said. He's so ambigous in the way he talks that I take it all with a grain of salt. Right now I think Rudi will play but how much is in question.
Is this the same Clayton that said Mason was probably out last week?

What makes your "thinking" any more definite than Clayton's? And if you're right, then doesn't that make Clayton right? Not trying to rip you but it seems like a very srange statement to make.
Clayton thought he would play. Coming from someone with inside intel, I would expect a more firm word on if someone is playing or not.I am saying if he is active (read: healthy enough to play) that Marvin would give him the load. He gives the Bengals the best shot to win and it is a must win for them. I am just guessing also.

Take it for what it is worth but..............

Watson starts but Rudi active

By GEOFF HOBSON

October 14, 2007

11:35 a.m. KANSAS CITY _ Rudi Johnson dressed for Sunday's game at Arrowhead Stadium but Kenny Watson got his second straight start at running back.

Johnson worked for the first time in 19 days Friday after injuring his hamstring in the Sept. 23 loss to Seattle and it looks like he'll be used in at least spot duty as the Bengals try revive the NFL's 26th-ranked rushing game.

The Bengals' battered linebackers were out again: middle linebackers Ahmad Brooks and Caleb Miller were inactive as was strong-side backer Rashaj Jeanty. Dhani Jones got the start for Jeanty and Anthony Schlegel went in the midde with six Bengals games among them.

Tristan H. Cockcroft: (11:45 a.m. ET) The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Kenny Watson will start at RB in Week 6. Rudi Johnson, though, is active, despite a hamstring injury. He'll play, but not start, meaning a straight timeshare could be in order. Be cautious expecting much from either player.

This is truly gay...

Is this the only thing to come out so far?

It's being reported in a few other places as well. Watson starts, Rudi's active, no way of knowing what the division of carries will be. Good luck to all of the Rudi/Watson owners this week. I think we're gonna need it.

:rolleyes:Gonna be a crazy week

I was set to take a zero before Rudi practiced the other day....Rudi not starting but suiting up is a step up from that situation

I'll take whatever I can get out of Rudi....1 carry for 1 yard and a TD would be fine with me

I'm stuck with Watson, Faulk or Stecker so I'll roll with Watson and hope Rudi is a smokescreen. Pitiful I know.

I think Watson gets the most stats today - especially in reception leagues and especially if the Bengals stay in the lead and especially if Watson plays well. I think the TD's will go to WR's - not RB's unless Watson catches one out of the back field.

So the question remains - how will the carries be divided up? It's probably safe to project Rudi to get any goal-line carries but will it be 50-50, 60-40, 70-30, 80-20 or what? Impossible to project anything for Rudi right now. If you're starting him, it's a complete guessing game.

I'm going with Watson in a PPR league. W/ Indy on a bye my only options are Norwood, Buckhalter or Ward. I'm willing to take the chance that he will have a better showing than Rudi. If not for the PPR I might think longer about it but I don't have much choice.

If Rudi is healthy enough to get a bunch of carries, why wouldn't they start him? I'm thinking Watson is the better play but Rudi could steal some goalline carries or just be active in case Watson gets hurt.

That's what I've been asking too. It makes me wonder if he'll only be there for a few carries and maybe some goal-line looks which means you have to hope he gets a TD to justify starting him. He certainly could but it's real risky to have to have that in order to get production from him.

This makes no sense to me. Marvin Lewis is being weird about it, and so is Rudi. If he's healthy enough to play at all, why wouldn't he start and get his normal workload?

I just benched Rudi and put in Watson. 3rd choice is Leon. So all you dual owners, make sure to play Rudi becuase when I change my lineup on Sunday morning, historically, I make the wrong choice. And I mean, losing a trip to the championship game two years in a row wrong.

From the Sunday Breaking News thing, FWIW:

CIN - RB Johnson Active But Questions About How Much Work He'll See

Summary: Bengals RB Rudi Johnson is on the active roster but there is still some question about how much work he'll see. Kenny Watson will be the starter and should see plenty of work if he is productive.

For what it's worth... my 7 year old daughter just assured me that Rudi is the better play today.

... and she's never wrong.

Marvin must think Herm and Gunther are having their guys hang on his every word....so many times coaches get caught up in mind games when it comes to injuries.

That being said, I am with Rudnicki here, but am in a position I HAVE to play Rudi in a deep dynasty league...against the team I root for no less.

Im being even sneakier and playing both and benching JJ who i dont expect much from with dallas playing from behind today.

I'm in the same boat......I had Rudi, Watson or Ronald Curry in a flex, went with Watson.

I just don't like the rapport I've seen with Curry lately so gambled on Watson. If worse comes to worse and Rudi has a big day, it means only good things for the futre.

of Cinci's inactives:

LB Rashad Jeanty

DB Ethan Kilmer

WR Tab Perry

LB Ahmad Brooks

LB Caleb Miller

DL Jonathan Fanene

QB Jeff Rowe

Is there anyone on the list that is not injured that would be meaningful for Cinci?

If not, then why not keep Rudi active and at least give the Chief's something the think about.

FWIW, I think Watson gets a majority of the carries today. Esepecially if Cinci goes up early.
