DMR 1

Interesting race in that the Invigorated and Canada Gate have never raced on the turf. Still, not seeing a whole lot in the rest of the field other than Lahaina Flavor.

Ex Box 6/7, Tribox 6/7/11

This has to be the worst television coverage I've ever seen. According to what I can find online, the Classic is in 20 minutes, and they literally haven't mentioned it yet. Lots of interviews, winners circle coverage and talk about the horse who broke down. Been watching for 1/2 hour and other than the actual race of the distance, there's literally been nothing of interest. No race replay. No highlights of past races of contenders. No analysis of the race. If they were trying to cover the event in way to turn people away from the sport, it would be hard to top this.

Finally got around to mentioning the classic with 17 minutes to post time. But the tone of the coverage sounds like something from a second rate 1970s tv game show.

They just showed the stretch run of the Travers with Thorpedo Anna mislabeled as Sierra Leone.

lol. good for sierra leone. caught a little of the exacta but damn. I can't ever win on that damn horse

well, glad that's over with I guess. Hit two good trifectas and was up and down on everything else. Japanese horses didn't show up.

Down for the day. Seemed to run 1st and 3rd every race. Only hit one exacta when J Ortiz closed big with the 8. Hard to bet from a golf cart! Keyed Forever Young to Sierra Leone and Fierceness in boxes in the Classic. That kind of day.

Prat looks terrible.
Comical, a statement like that. Was he the guy that went on to win America's biggest race the next day, the $7 million BC Classic? Then won the $2 million F/M Turf in the next race?

Or were you talking about the jockey who broke the record of most Stakes winners ever at the Spa this summer? After what, only a couple seasons there? That's nuts, to go in there and pull that off, and so quickly.

But yeah, I guess he forgot how to ride at a track he completely owned (before going back east to have to prove his mettle to the ignorant doubters).

No offense, but sometimes great jocks aren't on the best horse (which was Friday, and can be any day, especially so in horse racing). Prat follows it up by putting on a clinic in the biggest race and purse we have in America.

Tell us exactly, what looked so terrible the day before? Not being on a horse that could win? Because don't think for a minute that guy isn't always more prepared and knowledgeable as any of them, and at a track he knows better than any. All of which is why he is undeniably a great. He "looks terrible" makes zero sense. Not one trainer would come close to agreeing with that statement. Let me guess, you bet a horse he was on...and it lost.

The late betting - always on the winner - will kill this sport. Mohaven was never in the running for favorite. All the money coming in on Miss Kona and Too Sassy. Liked Mohaven - and he goes from 7/2 to 9/5 after they start. GTFO - sport is crooked.

CAW is awful. Del Mar's concept of cutting off CAW bets 2 minutes before the race would be somewhat helpful. Try betting Australia sometime. It's ridiculous. Horses will go from 17-1 to 6/5 in the last 30 seconds before post.

I may look at some races tomorrow, but I'm not sure how much time I'll have.

It's hard enough when the day to day races are only 5-6 horses... Never knowing what the odds will be until seconds left makes it impossible

You never ever see the huge bet down on a loser. Always on the winner. Total BS

worse is when the computer money comes in on the exacta and not the win pool. you'll think you hit a decent exacta, then it pays nothing.

Think Ted Noffey stands out here in the Juvenile. One way exacta to Intrepido, Tri's Ted Noffey over Intrepido and Brant in the 2nd/3rd slots. Brant has too much time off IMO to be really sharp - if he wins this watch out in the Derby

I am not a big player, so i just slid around $200 to cover some bets, trying to win a bit;

4 - $1 tri box 2,4,6,8
5 - $.50 tri key 1 w/2,4,8,10
6 - $.50 tri key 7 w/1,2,3,10
7 - $1 tri box 6,8,12,13
8 - $1 tri box 1,2,3,5
Classic
10 - $1 tri box 2,7,9,13
11 - $1 tri box 1,2,4,6
12 - $ tri box 2,6,9,13

In the classic, i'm bummed Sovereignty isn't running. I had him in the KD and that win gave me some fun money this summer (stupid roto leagues and such).
Watched most of the preps and seen most of these runners, honestly, wouldn't shock me if any of 5 or 6 won, but I keep coming back to Mindframe for some reason. I'm a fan of Irad Ortiz. He's won 20 BC races (tied with Velasquez) only Mike Smith has more. Mindframe was 3/3 in 2025 before throwing Ortiz after a bump in JCGC. He's rank and scares me sometimes, he drifts and seems to lose focus, but his style seems to be that he can be forward places or come from mid pack and wheel outside. I think Contrary (?) gives this an honest pace and I just think Mindframe gets there at the end over some very late chargers. Playing him for the 10-1 ML.

$25 WP Mindframe
$.50 Tri Wheel 1,7,8,9 w/all but 3,4 w/all but 3,4

Noon PT start means an 8p start here, so a Sagra and then some ponies tonite.

Boxed 1-2-8 here and then played those 3 with 6 and 11 in 2nd. Good luck all.

Edit - Speed all the way around. 10-8. So much for closers doing anything. 10 ran great - fast fast fast

Going Lovesick Blues for a small win bet, boxing him with Bentornato (I think will win but 8/5 too short), and then playing a tri Bentornato-all-Lovesick Blues. That race in the Bing Crosby by Lovesick Blues was no joke.

Ugh my girl tripped. Something weird always happens when a gate malfunctions. Honestly they should back all the horses out, wait five minutes, and try again.
