Having the most TDs on the Bears is like being the tallest midget.![]()
I wish they'd trade away half the team and get CJ. The problem is no one wants the bad half. YOU SUCK, BEARS. :(Having the most TDs on the Bears is like being the tallest midget.![]()
I wish they'd trade away half the team and get CJ. The problem is no one wants the bad half. YOU SUCK, BEARS. :(I think that the Bears will go LT in the first round. I'm hoping they draft two O Linemen in the first five rounds. I suspect that they will draft a RB in the first three rounds, probably second or third. The RB class is deep. They could get a good one even waiting until the third. I think that they are planning on going back to the run this season. The WR group are really weak. The QB could really suck. So they are going to try to rebuild the line and focus on the running game.It has to be if they have any hope of resurrecting the running game. Last mock I saw had Jeff Otah going to them, but there's a LT from Vanderbilt that Kiper said they should be looking at there.
Id love to see them go o-line the first 2 picks, but it wont happen.Bob Lee Swagger said:1. Jeff Otah2. Chilo Rachal3. Earl Bennett3. Kevin Smith
works for meRounders said:Here's my draft predictions for the Bears first 3 rounds:1-(14) J.Otah, OT2-(44) C.Henne, QB3-(70) M.Forte, RB3-(90) T.Zbikowski, S
I have not been a fan of his, but I think that Zbikowski could be a very good fit for the Bears Cover 2 defense. He reminds me a lot of Mike Brown.works for meRounders said:Here's my draft predictions for the Bears first 3 rounds:1-(14) J.Otah, OT2-(44) C.Henne, QB3-(70) M.Forte, RB3-(90) T.Zbikowski, S![]()
You would think, but then again Angelo will probably draft all defensive players and say hey look at our defense, it lead us to the Super Bowl!!!Somehow, it seems like it would be pretty hard to mess up this draft. I definitely want them to go O-line in the first, but after that it seems like they could go any number of directions and still come out okay.
Unbelievable.Im really getting sick of himReport: Urlacher suggests he could retire Brian Urlacher (neck, back) has reportedly suggested that he may consider retirement if the Bears don't follow through on upgrading his contract. If he proves injury, Urlacher could keep the $13 million in bonuses he got upon signing his six-year extension in 2003. He's skipping all the Bears' voluntary workouts, which already cost him $250,000, and threatening to sit out mandatory work as well. To make matters worse, Lance Briggs is sitting out voluntaries, possibly because he's unhappy with his brand new deal. Apr. 18 - 1:28 am etSource: Chicago Sun Times![]()
I would do that in a heartbeat. It's sad to say, but I would.I'm a big time Urlacher fan BUT... If the right deal comes along I'm all for it. Some sporting show in Chicago was starting rumors about Urlacher to Arizona for Boldin and a rd1 draft pick. Sadly I think this would be a nice deal for Chicago.
Absolutley. Move Briggs to MLB and start either Okwo or Jamar at Weak. However, no way this trade would ever happen.I would do that in a heartbeat. I know it's tough, but hang in there buddy. Can someone give me something to be happy about?-Harris, Hester, Gould, Urlacher all want new contracts (Elite money for their positions)-Briggs is unhappy with his NEW contract-We are going to bank on Mike Brown staying healthy again-Benson coming off an injury as well as a terrible season-Sub par WR corps (boarderline garbage)-aging OL with several major holes-Only 2 Qbs on the roster (neither very good)If JA blows thie Draft, I might lose it.
what do you consider blowing the draft? Can someone give me something to be happy about?-Harris, Hester, Gould, Urlacher all want new contracts (Elite money for their positions)-Briggs is unhappy with his NEW contract-We are going to bank on Mike Brown staying healthy again-Benson coming off an injury as well as a terrible season-Sub par WR corps (boarderline garbage)-aging OL with several major holes-Only 2 Qbs on the roster (neither very good)If JA blows thie Draft, I might lose it.

Gotta say I'm miffed that someone would piss away a quarter of a mil like that. He's skipping all the Bears' voluntary workouts, which already cost him $250,000,Anyone else have a problem with the use of the word "voluntary" in this sentence?
Not totally Sure. JA suprises every year. I'll be ok as long as 3 of the first 4 picks are on Offense. I have been saying this for about 3 years now, but I think JA tends to get too cute during the draft. I think his "genius" label has gotten to him. The Bears need to walk out of the draft with 2 OL prospects that can start/contribute this season. A top 10 RB in this year's class. And either another WR that will see the field this season or a QB of the future. It really isn't asking for a whole lot, and I think the above is the minimal I would be happy with. I'm just not 100% convinced it will happen.what do you consider blowing the draft? Can someone give me something to be happy about?-Harris, Hester, Gould, Urlacher all want new contracts (Elite money for their positions)-Briggs is unhappy with his NEW contract-We are going to bank on Mike Brown staying healthy again-Benson coming off an injury as well as a terrible season-Sub par WR corps (boarderline garbage)-aging OL with several major holes-Only 2 Qbs on the roster (neither very good)If JA blows thie Draft, I might lose it.
Nope, but this place can get depressing at times. Listening to all the other posters get excited about their teams. Getting that difference maker in the draft or a trade. Only thing to come out of Bears camp is bad news and insane propaganda. (Hester is the next Steve Smith, Grossman is better now since he was benched, Benson is a 1600 yard back if we draft a good OL) Maybe I'm just upset because it is the first real nice day of the year here and I am stuck inside. Is there a gun to the head smiley? Can someone give me something to be happy about?-Harris, Hester, Gould, Urlacher all want new contracts (Elite money for their positions)-Briggs is unhappy with his NEW contract-We are going to bank on Mike Brown staying healthy again-Benson coming off an injury as well as a terrible season-Sub par WR corps (boarderline garbage)-aging OL with several major holes-Only 2 Qbs on the roster (neither very good)If JA blows thie Draft, I might lose it.
If you're a long-time Bears fan you're already used to it. If you're not a longtime fan, this would be a good time to reexamine your allegiance. There is nothing to look forward to for at least year, possibly two or three.
Well... they would be insane to turn down a trade like that. I doubt Urlacher could bring even a top 15 pick at this point.Same hereI would do that in a heartbeat. I don't have a problem with the word voluntary. They don't have to show up. I believe the 250K is not a fine that is taken out of their paycheck, its a bonus. It was decided in their contract how much of a bonus they get for these voluntary workputs. I believe I read somewhere that he has to show up for 80% (or so) of his workouts to be eligible for the bonus. That means if there are 40 scheduled workout days, he can miss 6-8 days and still get his bonus. They "volunteered" for that contract so yes, this is voluntary. If they didn't want the extra cash, they could have had no bonus put in for voluntary workouts and would not lose anything financially if they didn't show up.He's skipping all the Bears' voluntary workouts, which already cost him $250,000,Anyone else have a problem with the use of the word "voluntary" in this sentence?
Glad you bring this up. Depending which OL prospects are left, My personal feeling is no to McFadden and yes to Ryan. The No on McFadden is just due to the depth at the position. I really feel like there will be several solid RB options at the 70th overall pick. Plus how good would any RB be if we don't improve the OL?The only way I think Ryan should be taken is if Both Claddy and Albert are off the board. I'm not a big fan of Otah or Williams. One is said to "play lazy" and the other lacks strength. those are thing I don't want to hear when spending a high pick on a prospect. So at this point I think the team would get more talent grabing Ryan in rd1 and maybe (hopefully) a OT Sam Baker in RD2 as opposed to a Otah/Williams and Flacco/Henne combo.Even though the chances are slim to none, according to other threads (rumors), Matt Ryan and/or McFadden might fall to the Bears. I doubt both do but what if one or the other does. As much as we need OL help, would you prefer the Bears take one of these two? What if they both do? Would you prefer Ryan or McFadden, or would you still take the best available OL on the board?
A 7th rounder maybe. Can you imagine how he'd disappear in NE's defensive scheme? The new rumor is Urlacher to the Pats for #7. It must be hard for these "sport talk" guys to fill a 6 hour segment.
No mention of RB until asked by the media"You can start with offense," he said. "We have to get our quarterback position settled. It will be a good competition between Rex (Grossman) and Kyle (Orton). We need another quarterback on our roster. We lost two (starting) offensive linemen, veteran players (OT Fred Miller and G Ruben Brown). We need to replace them. Lost our No. 1 receiver (Berrian to free agency). So you can start on the offensive side of the ball. We have a few holes, but we can replace them."
Seeing this makes me pretty sure the Bears don't take a RB until Rd3.ETA: I'm still rooting for the Bears to bring in Kevin Jones. I think he would be a nice 1-2 punch with Ced. It would also let the Bears grab another OL,QB or WR early. However I don't think it is very likely. What team would want 2 RBs coming off major injuries to start a season?"Did I think about cutting him? No. We're not to that point. As a football team, we didn't play as well as we needed to. I don't think you can blame a running back. But this is critical year."
This would make too much sensethe latest from Lovie...

Smoking a 12lb pork shoulder. I love draft day...On a side note, what are chicago-based FBGs doing for the draft? I'll be at Nick's Tavern in Lemont, home of the 1lb. burger.

I doubt Adrian gets 50 catches again. I anticipate Wolfe getting in on 3rd down more. So, Bears fans, let's talk for a post or two about your OWN Adrian Peterson. I'm inclined to believe the Bears won't take a RB until Day 2 this year, if at all......assuming we're correct, I'd enjoy some educated speculation on 'Adrian the First', and his projected workload, etc.FIFTY catches last year - nothing to sneeze at. That's a lot of points for a RB in PPR Format, you can get at a flea market price and plug in as a flex option when the bye weeks get ya down...IF he can muster those #'s again...or possibly see significant work over all 16 Games...Drop some knowledge on me, Bear Oracle. I'll hang up and listen.
If they draft a RB, I'd guess that Wolfe would be gone. His value seems low in the NFL.I doubt Adrian gets 50 catches again. Where is he goin? He was a 3rd round pick just last year. Way too early to just admit failure with that one.I think he has his place, just have to really pick your spots with him.If they draft a RB, I'd guess that Wolfe would be gone.
I don't think Angelo is ready to eat crow on Wolfe just yet. He's pretty stubborn when it comes to cutting 1st day picks. If they draft a RB, I'd guess that Wolfe would be gone. Peterson's going to be the 3rd string RB again, and will play a prominent role on special teams. The Bears will draft a RB (obviously) in the first 3 rounds, and he'll complement Benson. Wolfe will get his 3rd down touches, and an occasional hand-off so I think we're going to see a committee handling the duties for the Bears next season.I doubt Adrian gets 50 catches again.
