Here’s an idea, let’s do nothing and have the left say the right doesn’t do anything.

Here's what you can do - maybe more teachers from the right? Why is it such a left dominated profession? (and probably always has been, so I hope we aren't pretending as though this is a new thing to have our kids taught by a bunch of democrats).

It's a left dominated profession because it requires an advanced degree and a much higher percentage of people with advanced degrees are liberal than conservative.

So, this is how it'll be unless you want to dumb down the requirements for being a teacher.

If you're white and your ancestors came here through Ellis Island, you can go visit there and be proud of them surviving the journey here and establishing a new life that led to you. All of these places are national parks and exist just to celebrate these things.

There is no one single unifying story for the masses of white people who live here, there are lots of little stories. Maybe your family came here due to the Irish potato famine. Maybe they got a land grant from the King of England. Maybe they won tickets on the Titanic in a poker game. Could be practically anything. Unfortunately for people who are "black", the vast majority ended up in the US under the similar experiences, slavery. So, for them celebrating their history and finding pride in it is a joint exercise. It would be pretty off base for a Black Greek who came here a couple years ago to involve themselves in the black pride stuff, and they most likely wouldn't want to, they'd rather go to a big street festival for Greek Easter or something that was more similar to their own experiences.

Talk about echo chambers and safe spaces. It's impossible to have your kids go through school and not have other ideals and morals presented to them. Maybe home schooling is the best solution at that point.

To take it a step further, once kids find out how much white washed American history they were given they tend not to trust the people who white washed it in their future dealings with them.

Young people can handle the truth and still grow up to be good citizens.

"Under an economy that’s strong, we’re going to stop this runaway spending and curb that inflation." - The GOP always says they are going to curb spending and never do. So Kevin, I'm from Missouri.

"We’re going to make [the country] energy independent and lower the price of gas. We’re going to bring back the supply chain from China into America." - How are they going to do these things? Seems pretty vague. I'll wait for the details.

" Under a nation that’s safe, the first thing we’re going to do is secure our border and end this catch-and-release and stop this fentanyl that’s coming across." - Again, very vague except for the catch - and - release part. I'm curious what he means by ending that. So people who are waiting for deportation hearings, they plan to lock everyone up indefinitely? I am definitely against that. Seems a big waste of money and resources as well as cruel.

" We’re going to be able to have 200,000 more police officers..." - I assume he means federal officers. Unless he means they are going to fund the local municipalities hiring police? See "stop runaway spending" above. I have no idea if there is a need for 200k more fed police. But it seems unlikely. I'd like to see the evidence for that.

"... and the other thing we’re going to be able to do is these prosecutors and DAs that have not been enforcing the law we are going to shine light onto that and bringing out a transparency chart so everyone knows where we’re at." - I think they are already doing this.

" Of course, we’re going to defend our national security.” - very vague. I'd like to see the details.

“We’re going to pass a Parents’ Bill of Rights. Parents ought to have a say in their kids’ education." - Obviously the devil is in the details. No idea what will be included in that.

"We’re going to supply the ability to have parental choice. We’re going to get tax credits in so kids have scholarships so a million kids can go to new and different schools." - I go back and forth on school choice. I think there are good arguments on both sides. So I have not yet decided what I think of it. I do worry that it will just further exacerbate the haves and have nots and kids will get even further left behind.

"You have healthcare in there—and Big Tech, and hold them accountable and ensure fairness." - very Trumpian. We will just ignore this for now since he's not really saying anything.

"... we’re going to be going after from ESG to Section 230." - This is a huge mistake. Will lead to lots of scenarios they don't want.

"The first thing we’re going to do is defend our rights from the Second Amendment to freedom of speech." - Ok. Very vague so no need to comment until we see the details.

"Then we go in and what we’ve really been working on already is these agencies that we have more than 500 preservation letters. Why don’t we know where the origins of COVID started? Why don’t we know what happened in Afghanistan when the president listened to the military? What about an Attorney General who went after parents and called them terrorists simply because they went to school board meetings? This is where we’re going to hold the agencies all accountable." - Digging into reasons behind actions is good. Transparency is good. I'm quite certain he will do it in the worst, most partisan Trumpian way possible. But in general, I definitely support holding agencies accountable.

The point is violence has happened at the Capital many times over in the history of our country. Bombings, assassination attempts, and protests(remember Vietnam). Not all were terrorism. If you read either article it is pretty interesting. I guess another point is imo that this Jan 6th is being made into something it's not. Coup attempt is just a bunch of hogwash.
