Rumor...Rice to Dallas for Simeon Rice and the Bucs 3rd for the 20th pick.Reported on the ticket.......please god no!!!

 
I'm pretty certain they will trade down with one of those picks. Because they are so enamored with Ware and he could probably be had in the early teens, it is likely to be the #11. In my final mock I have them trading down with Carolina and drafting Ware at #11 and obtaining a third (which they lost for Henson).At #20 I have them going O-line and Khalif Barnes and then taking Dan Cody at #42. It's that last pick that I'm not completely sold on.

Someone told me about this last night... he's not the most credible person, but apparently he was telling the truth about this. He said he heard about it from John Clayton.
 
How long has Rice been in the league? I guess the talks of trading with NO has broken down for good.

 
I know the Cowboys would like to move out of that 20th spot. And as of last night they were negotiating with a few teams, but I know they can do better than that.

 
Well you guys go right ahead and pass on Clayton if he's still there for you at 1.20. He's the most ready WR coming out of the draft and he's one of the best down field blockers from the WR position.

Hey CanadianNFLJunkie,I know what you're saying true about Clayton. But the Cowboys got pushed around on defense "BIG TIME" Bill is going to do everything in his power not to get pushed around again. That's why the plan (I guess it could change) is to go strictly defense on the first draft day.

I'm really hoping they stay at the #20 spot, but the organization feels that the 20th-40th pick all have the same value, so why draft a player @ 20 and pay him 20 money, when can draft him at 36 or 39 and pay him accordingly.That's why teams are trying to move out of certain position and some even let time past (when they're on the clock i.e Minn) so they can draft the player they want a pay him less.

All Cowboy fans should be happy with our first round selctions. We have aquired two players who should immediately upgrade our defense. If we can add a starting quality safety, this draft could be an A+. The overall draft board really has worked to our favor. We needed front seven players and were fortunate to get 2 of the top 3 or 4, IMO.

Getting Spears to fall is HUGE. My only wish is that we had Merriman instead of Ware. But time will tell on which is the better player.Now on to a FS. Brodney Pool drop by chance? :D

 
42.Pool or Blackstock?Doomsday is upon us....I was really upset that we didnt get Pollack, but I'm over it and very happy to add 2 impact players... :boxing:

 
:mellow: I'm still a bit upset we couldn't pull in a 3rd rounder where I see lots of value CB depth. Now I guess the best WR or FS is next then the Mavs game starts and :suds:
 
I have nothing to verify this, but as far as I know, Dallas has move $$$ available then about 20 other teams to sign their picks. :thumbup:

 
UGH! I thought Khalif Barnes was an easy pick there... this DEFINITELY solidifies the fact that Dallas is playing a 3-4 though.

the Cowboys just got much bigger on Defense. Good overall players. Hopefully Bradie James can contribute and we play a hybrid 4-3 3-4 defense.
 
Wow, I LOVE this draft. SPears falling was just huge for the 'Boys. The Merriman/Ware debate will go on, but after the success of Julius Jones last year, I think Parcells should get the benfit of any doubts.

 
We still need to address the FS position..who might still be available in round 4? Man, I cant believe the Browns took Pool :hot: It doesnt look like we're trying to get into the 3rd....

 
Titans fan here who absolutely loves your draft so far. Ware,Spears,Burnett is awesome.

 
We still get no love from the ESPN guys...we werent even on the 1st day winners list. I thought we made out great

 
Jones and Parcells are making the most of their picks and have to say I'm a very happy fan.Not sure about Ware, would have preferred Merriman but either way this draft is very good for the boys!!

 
DALLAS' DRAFT THRU 4 ROUNDS IS UNBELIEVABLY EXCELLENT! Ware, Spears, Burnett, AND BARBER?!?!? That is unmatched in this draft! Excellent job by Jerry and Bill!FYI: I hate the Cowboys but I've got to give much respect!!!

 
You college fans, what do you think about Ware(?) playing the pass rushing OLB role(LT role) in Parcells 3-4?

 
I'M ABSOLUTELY GIDDY. Dallas is kicking ### & taking names. Spears & Canty at DE? Are you kidding me? Ware as "LT" & Burnett? UNBELIEVABLE.
