I know, we all were pulling our hair out over these guys because we saw the potential talent these guys had and it was practically torture to see them lose some of those games.Credit to all the Dallas coaches especially Wade Phillips. Ever since he took over coaching that defense, he's really turned that unit around. That's why Dallas has a shot to beat Minnesota. They need to put pressure on Farve and force him into making those throws we all know Brett Farve can make.Minny is 8-0 at home, so it will be supremely important to start well in that game as the Metrodome will be super loud. It's great to have Dallas alive with only 8 teams left though.I hope T. Choice didn't suffer a concussion at the end of that game. Not seeing Barber in the game from quarter 1 bothers me some too.

I'm certainly glad my feelings about this game were wrong.
Dallas will have their work cut out for them next week against an offense that can actually run the ball. Harvin, Rice, and Shiancoe will be a handful.

Choice said after the game that he's "good to go."He was declared probable to return to the game shortly after taking that shot but didn't have to as it turned out.Barber is a different story. He aggravated his knee injury and had some swelling in it so they kept him out.We'll have to wait and see with him.

Never thought they needed a bye, they're playing well right now and they're healthy. At worst, they now have won a playoff game and Cowboy haters will have to find a new thing to hate on as far as not winning a playoff game.

I disagree here - with the Cowboys recent struggles in the playoffs I could see how that play could have changed the game mentally for the Cowboys. It was a fair point to make considering what has happened in the past - I will be very interested to see how this Cowboys team responds to being behind in a game.LOL at ESPN saying the almost INT that Philly had could have saved the game for the Cowboys. Who is to say they would have been behind. The Philly offense did nothing all day but one play period. Dallas would have won this game easily if that was a pick or not. To say otherwise is just not watching the last month of football. This team is not folding they just keep playing and have confidence. Don't get hung up on the Philly stuff. They beat them 3 times this season and the last 2 were blowouts. If that doesn't prove to Philly fan, Dallas fan, or football fan that this year Dallas is better than Philly, any debate you have in this thread won't help either. The continuity of playing at a high level and not turning it on and off is great however I'd rather be at home next week.

Was at the game last night and it was rocking, everytime McNabb was at the line the sound was deafining. ESPN is correct because right after the INT the entire crowd got deflated and started to doubt Wade and the Cowboys, you could almost feel Dallas doubt themselves. The doubt disappered after the challenge and ensuing TD. Even in the 4th quarter with 3:00 minutes left the crowd was still cheering like it was a close game. While it may not have been as loud as the superdome it was loud.Best moment of the game:There was one loud and obnoxious Philly fan in our section, he became pretty quiet after the 1st quarter and pretty much slumped in his chair for 3rd and 4th quarter. In the middle of the 4th quarter a Dallas fan went up next to him and took a picture, then said to the guy "hahaha your on facebook b*#th. Add in the fact that the Philly fan was my friend and was being overly obnoxious he had it coming although the bit&h comment was over the top but he didnt take offense (to be clear it was not me who took the pic).

Me. Absolutely. You're asking me if I want this red hot team rested and playing at home or traveling to play a rested team at their home where they are unbeaten. It is a no brainer for me. Few advantages in all of sports are as well documented and tangible as home field advantage. I would never voluntarily sacrifice that. Did you see the way Dallas played at home the last two weeks? I'd love them to be at home this week way more than I care about them playing last week to keep the roll going. Evidence that playing every week too maintain a winning streak is purely anecdotal. It is not a theory. It is a notion. You can provide and example and I can rebut with one and so on. There's no substantial reason to believe a week off is a bad thing. More time to prepare. More time to heal. An opportunity to play a team with a week's less rest and week's more bumps and bruises is a great opportunity. Making that opportunity a home game is a huge advantage. I feel about 50% confident in Dallas this week. That number would be much higher coming off a bye and into a home game.

Hard to measure the importance of Brooking as a leader and strength up the middle provided by Olshansky. Those two acquisitions patched up a long time weakness right up the middle of the D. Neither of these guys get enough love.

Great game for the Cowboys. Obviously, they are better than the Eagles right now. To me, they also have the look of a team that could go a long way in the playoffs.
So why are the Cowboys taking the step forward now? Three big reasons:
1. Playcalling - Without TO there, I think Jason Garrett has finally figured out what he has on the offensive side of the ball and how to use it. The run/pass mix is very good and defenses can't really key on any one aspect of the Cowboys offense to shut down.
2. Leadership - I have maintained that a successful football team has to get leadership from at least one of three areas: Head Coach, QB, or someone on the defense. This year, the addition of Brookings has added a leader on defense. By cutting down on Turnovers and mistakes and seeming to be in sync with the offensive gameplan, Romo has quietly become a leader on Offense. Wade is still Wade, but with leadership coming in the other areas, he doesn't need to be a firebreathing type of head coach.
3. Good luck - The Cowboys as a team are healthy right now and have been the majority of the season. Other than losing Columbo for 7 games, the only other area they have had some injury issues is RB, which happens to be the position they have the most depth in. That stability has helped them to play good team football on both offense and defense.
The Cowboys are balanced on both offense and defense and have great special teams (other than Suisham who I would not want to rely on). While it would be tough to win two road games to get to the Super Bowl, they are facing the Vikings at the right time and have already beaten the Saints in New Orleans. The Cowboys have the run defense to contain AP, and they have the pass rush to put pressure on Farve to make him throw interceptions. There is also a fair chance that they host the Cardinals in the NFC championship game. While Warner was excellent the other day, I think the Cowboys can put enough pressure on him that he isn't quite as dominating.
As for my Eagles, with the injuries and turnover that went on this year, I am not surprised they went out the way they did. The offensive line never had any consistency, the Linebacker position was a revolving door, and they haven't found a replacement for Dawkins at Safety yet. Defense is the big question mark on this team, both personnel wise and coaching wise. Was McDermott just dealt a bad hand this year, or is he really a big step down from Jim Johnson? The Eagles are very young and have great young skill position players on offense, so there are bright spots for this team. I do think Andy Reid will get things corrected next year, and hopefully we have much better luck with injuries.
Again, good win Cowboy fans and good luck the rest of the season.

A class post. Its good to see classy moves between clubs and fans where its often been sorely lacking.
As for next year, the Eagles will be strong again. It will be interesting to see what moves they make. I thought they really solidified themselves coming into this year. But sometimes things don't go as planned. I do know they are one of the best run organizations in the NFL. They'll be back.

I do worry to some extent that the Vikings WR are much like the Chargers WR and the tall guys can give our undersized corners some issues. That's my #1 concern and that the beating the Eagles who were living off their reputation of prior years might make this thing overconfident.
Beating the Eagles can't be seen long term as anything but putting a dog out of it's misery. Beat the Vikings and this season is a success. Wade gets a contract and this thing is going places.
It's funny that so many people are picking this game to be a double digit victory in both directions. There's middle ground here and this should fall in it.
Now the Vikings are funny and hard to figure out. Since their bye week they really haven't beaten anyone of consequence. Cincy is the closest thing to a good team they beat and at that point they were missing lots of players and were at home. All the other games were versus god awful teams or they just plain lost.

I still think the secret to this is Farve's mental block versus Dallas. He's played 11 games and won 2 of them versus Dallas. I've been there for at least 7 of them and maybe more of those. I've seen Farve in 3 other venues and there's something in his head. Don't underrate this. A worn down and rattled Farve is not going to get it done.
ADP is going against a defense that did not allow a 100 yard rusher. Granted, Dallas played primarily RBBC teams all year but it warrants mentioning.

With the rumors that Warner will retire after the Cards season is over, can Dallas knock out two future HOF QBs in the last game of their respective careers?

I will take them coming off of a dominant win every time. Got to end their playoff drought and pummel Philly twice in consecutive weeks. Not much that I would take over that. I have no worries going into the Vikings' dome where they have not lost this season when they have already beaten a better team (the Saints) in a louder dome earlier this season who were undefeated. Our team is healthy (Barber is banged up but they are better off with Choice and they have a super confident Felix Jones) and full of confidence and more importantly playoff proven now. They wouldn't have been coming off of a bye. No time to take any trips and no time to let the media get into their head. Also Suisham got a chance to hit a field goal in a play off game so that helps them as well.
You can't tell me that after last week's game that the Vikings aren't feeling worried. We are the team with the momentum and that means alot.

The results of that trade brought Spencer to the Cowboys while the Eagles acquired QB Kevin Kolb and LB Stewart Bradley.I'll still take it though. :(Spencer is getting a lot of press right now. It's ironic that Dallas acquired the pick to draft him by making a trade with the Eagles. Glad he's not wearing green.

By rule he cannot practice with the team while the Cowboys are in the playoffs.
A fourth-round pick by Cleveland in 2006, Williams, 6-2, 250 pounds, spent three years with the Browns before his release in September, making 12 starts. In 2007 he had 88 tackles and four sacks while playing for Cowboys defensive line coach Todd Grantham, who was the Browns defensive coordinator.
He played for the UFL’s New York Sentinels and worked out for the Cowboys late in the regular season.

The Cowboys will return to the practice field today without Marion Barber. He's being held out with a swollen bursa sac in his knee. They are remaining optimistic that he'll be able to play Sunday, yet there is no certainty.

Is there word on how the tickets are selling? Minnesota isn't exactly a tough place to play really. That town is depressed and it's certainly one of the top three most likely teams to up and move soon. 55% of season ticket holders did not take playoff tickets last year and they struggled to sell out. I'd expect 15k-20k Dallas fans much like what happened in the Arizona game. Home field should amount to nothing but hype.

Flozell has actually been playing like his old pro-bowl self since the last Giants game so I expect him to handle "the mullet" pretty well.

The way the screen and pulling runs worked against Phi, I think Min won't be overly aggressive in the pass rush. If they are, the Cowboys will burn them again and again.
