Please post all of your relevant Darren Fells Information Here Please...

I would add TE Darren Fells (SEA) as a deep lotto ticket... 6'7" 280

Interesting Article

The fact that they signed him to a 3 yr contract says something to me about what they feel his "potential" could be.

Certainly athletic and blessed with tremendous hand-eye-coordination as seen here

Especially impressive at 1:11 and between 2:00-2:30

Look Im not saying he is going to be a beast and he may take a few yrs but geez the measurables are nice and he is a grown up mature "professional"

Deep deep stash with maybe some nice upside... or maybe he is Jimmy Graham

He played college hoops at UC Irvine, and was an all-state TE in HS although I can't seem to find a link to that anymore FWIW

Nine years since his last organized football event. In High School. http://blog.seattlepi.com/football/tag/darren-fells/

Sure, he could be great. He could also be cut come TC.

He initially tried out at DE but didn't make it until they tried him at TE

The Seahawks initially worked out TE Darren Fells as a defensive end last week.
Seattle wasn't impressed with Fells at the position, so they had him run routes. They obviously liked what they saw out of the 6-foot-7, 280-pound former basketball player, and are reportedly anxious to get Fells in pads. Fells faces long odds, but coach Pete Carroll has never shied from a project. Source: Rotoworld, March 10

Absolutely a long shot for sure but that's what makes it fun to speculate... Nine years maybe from his last football event but it is also not like he was sitting behind a desk either... College Bball and then Bball internationally... I realize its a long shot for fantasy relevance but IF HE HITS dang it could be wild to see!!

They reportedly kept asking him as he was running routes if he is sure that he hasn't done this before... (Linked in the original post)

I'm excited to at least see him in pads as well

Doesn't take much to get an "official" thread, does it?
Hah true!! It just makes it easier to post relevant news for this prolly-never-gonna-be-relevant-but-"holy-crap-he's-big-and-agile"-playerI like rooting for these kinds of storiesKinda like the kr for the saints yrs ago who had been driving a beer truck before he made the teamLove that crap and this is EXACTLY the type of move that will or could be a big story if the Seahawks make the Super Bowl and if this guy is still on the teamI'd say I'm just as likely to cut him after the preseason or before if he shows nothing but its a situation I will monitor

The dude will turn 30 a couple weeks into the season. Pass.
Uh, no. He'll turn 27 next week
It looks like Rob was looking at brother Daniel Fells' birthday. 9/23/83. Darren's is 4/22/86.
Which makes him younger then 2 new projected starting TEs in James Casey and Delanie Walker... I'm only bringing that up as an argument that his age shouldn't really be considered a detriment IMO.

Another recent article... interesting that he was visiting with the Seahawks BEFORE his pro-day and they signed him quickly to a 3 yr deal. His agent (also his brother Daniel's agent) had been contacting teams to build interest for his upcoming pro-day but in the meantime he visited with the Hawks and they snatched him up.

They also compare his situation to some other former B-Ball players who have had success. Im aware there are also a ton of B-Ball players who have never garnered any sort of relevance in the NFL or in fantasy football but with this guys measurables I am becoming increasingly intrigued.

QUOTE: He decided that he missed football so much that he enlisted the help of Daniel and his agent to set up visits with some teams and, eventually, a pro day to showcase his abilities. He was simply visiting with the Seahawks back in April before his Pro Day and, after working out for them, was signed to a three-year deal.

Yep... I would love to hear the reasoning behind the quick cut even before camps started... Injury? Too raw? Why not at least break camp with him?

Was he able to participate in any rookie minicamps they were having? Maybe he's that hopeless.
Had to get down to 90 man roster after draft and UDFA. Some are thinking that he still may be a "tryout" invite at rookie mini-camp. Perhaps that is just wishful thinking though.

Is he on the cardinals now? If that's the guy then yeah he looks good and he's the starting TE ahead of Gresham. I put a $1 bid in for him in my dynasty league.

I think this is his brother. Not the same guy.

However it should be noted that the over prescription of antibiotics as well as the use of them in our livestock and water supply for the last 50 years is what caused this.

MRSA is just one of many super bugs that have become resistant to antibiotics these days. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Praying for DANIEL.
