Talk about the glory that is the 2007 Detroit Lions here. Realism not welcome here.

Jon Kitna is the man and we have four great WRs. 289 yards against the BEST pass defense in the NFL.

Tatum Bell is the answer at RB. He's motivated this year, as evidenced by his taunting of the Black Hole. No ploys needed.

Offensive line problems are solved.

DeWayne White and Travis Fisher looking like HUGE pickups. The defense is fine now.

Raiders were only in this game due to some first game jitters by Kitna and Roy on the INTs. It was clear who the better team is.

Kitna's 10-win projection looking modest right now IMO.

Your talking the Raiders here and if it had nt been for Janikowsky the Lions would be 0-1

Please read the bolded text.

Jumping on the train, we usually can't do this past week one. Here we go ...CHOOOOO CHOOOOOO!

You have to like the rookie scoring a TD and the entire offense coming over to congratulate him and celebrate. This team is different than years past...disciplined, talented, and confident.

CHOOOO CHOOO!!!

Well, if it ever did come to fruition........I'd hate to not be on board.

The defense is BAD but they are 1-0.

They have the Vikings next week, another tough defense but at home they could win that game. I don't think Minnesota's offense looked all that good and if Detroit doesn't give Minny 2 Td's on defense like Atlanta did today, they'll be right in the thick of that game.

IN! The Lions of years past would have crumbled when the Raiders made their run. This team is different. The offense is confident and clicking. The D has some questions but came up big when they needed to. Just wait until Kevin Jones is back and the running game is a threat! :(

36-21. He missed nine pts. That looks like 36-30 to me even if he made all three.

In years past, Detroit has found ways to lose ball games! NOT THIS YEAR BABY!

I predict 14-2 with both loses coming purely by special teams breakdown. Thats the only way the Lions will lose, allowing people to run back kickoffs for six!

KITNA IS GOD!!!!

Yep and one miss was a 57 yarder, and another was a blocked fifty yarder. That's pretty common stuff :lmao:

Shawn Rogers is motivated this year, baby! Start polishing up that Lombardi Trophy now and make room for it in the Ford Field trophy case!

That last part shouldn't take long

Lol @ the raiders #1 pass defence.

The only reason they were #1 was because other teams were beating them so bad. They just ran the ball to keep the score respectable and chew up the clock. No body passed on them because they didn't have to.

Run D was 25th...

the score was like 29 -21 and the Raiders had to go for a score with no timeouts left and less then 2 minutes , if he made two of those the score is like 29 -27 and they run a different offense to get the field goal much easier .

You are right. He's a 1st rounder. He should be able to hit those with either leg.

There seems to be a reading comprehension problem with some posters. There is no stopping the Lions. They can't be bargained with, they can't be reasoned with, they don't feel pity, or remorse, and they absolutely will not stop EVER!! until they have won.

You mean a different offense than this..... Oakland Raiders at 04:154-J.Hanson kicks 53 yards from DET 30 to OAK 17. 23-C.Carr to OAK 31 for 14 yards (39-E.Frampton).1-10-OAK 31 (4:06) 12-J.McCown pass short right to 36-J.Griffith to OAK 36 for 5 yards (50-E.Sims).2-5-OAK 36 (3:26) PENALTY on DET-92-S.Rogers, Neutral Zone Infraction, 5 yards, enforced at OAK 36 - No Play.2-1-OAK 41 (3:19) PENALTY on OAK, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at OAK 41 - No Play.2-6-OAK 36 (3:19) 12-J.McCown pass short middle intended for 17-M.Williams INTERCEPTED by 99-D.White at OAK 38. 99-D.White to OAK 10 for 28 yards (80-Z.Miller).and then this...... Oakland Raiders at 01:564-J.Hanson kicks 68 yards from DET 30 to OAK 2. 23-C.Carr to OAK 37 for 35 yards (21-T.Fisher).1-10-OAK 37 (1:49) 12-J.McCown sacked at OAK 30 for -7 yards (99-D.White). FUMBLES (99-D.White), recovered by OAK-80-Z.Miller at OAK 20. 80-Z.Miller to OAK 23 for 3 yards (99-D.White). FUMBLES (99-D.White), RECOVERED by DET-99-D.White at OAK 23. 99-D.White to OAK 23 for no gain (80-Z.Miller).That wouldn't be a bad idea...... <_<

You forgot to add Calvin Johnson = Rookie of the Year.I am loving this...Restore the Roar !!!

I'm on board.

The Lions offense looks like a destroyer. McDonald is going to be a MAJOR factor...he's going to be able to roam free in a hell of a lot of situations with as good as Roy and CJ looked. Furrey will fill the role of getting eight yards on a 3rd and seven. They truly look like an uncoverable foursome, and Kitna, with all day to make his reads, was precision accurate. Bell was adequate...the running game did enough to set up the pass, that's all it needs to do.

The defense made some good tackles, which is miraculous in comparison to last year, but the secondary is going to get shredded more often than not. Big Baby was a MONSTER (no surprise there), and our run defense should be pretty good (like it was at the begginning of last year), but they will be helpless against decent-to-good qbs.

This team should be good enough to go .500 because of the offense.

Come and watch them Detroit Lions who no one seems to beat...and another one bites the dust.

Where is Jimmy "Spiderman" Allen these days. We need an updated version.

Is this a bandwagon or a train we're all hopping aboard?

I vote "bandwagon" because there's no :bandwagonwreck: emoticon.

Millen is a genius, to be mentioned in the same breath with Einstein and Edison. Marinelli is a gift from the gods to the city of Detroit. Kitna is a HOFer in Honolulu Blue. CJ is a Rookie of the Millenium in the making. The Lions will roll over the league the way the Harlem Globetrotters rolled over the Washington Generals.

The Spartans are 2-0, the Lions are 1-0 & both ND and U of M are 0-2.....

 :own3d: :pickle:

I'm enjoying it while I can..........

Oh, and IN on the bandwagon... Hell, I'll be the designated driver. :banned:

This Lions team seemed to be a little different then in the past.

First, they didn't give away the lead at the end. The defense looked like it had some speed. Sims was all over the field. Rogers looked like he did a few years ago when he was a stud. I'm still not sold on the OL, but on the TD to McDonald he had all day long. If he can get some protection with Roy/CJ2/McDonald/Furrey they are going to score some points.

Bell wasn't anything special. KJ if he can come back 100% healed... will be a big plus.

This was a road win! Something a few years ago you couldn't even think of the Lions getting.

The Kool-aid tastes good right now... pass to cornbread this way.

The Spartans are 2-0, the Lions are 1-0 & both ND and U of M are 0-2.....

:hifive: I think the designated driver is supposed to NOT drink. But this is the Lions bandwagon, so we can make some new rules.

If you've been a Lions fan for any length of time, drinking is pretty much mandatory.

Millen is a genius,
I can't even give you that one in a non-reality thread. The O-line looked pretty good though. I was impressed. Watching the Raiders killing themselves with penalties and getting shredded in the secondary was like watching the Lions of old.

How was Kitna going 3-5 rounds after the big 5 this year? With Roy, Calvin, Furrey, and McDonald, the potential is there for Kitna to break records. Maybe attempts? Yards? Who knows. I am excited. Detroit was exciting.

This has got to be the best Detroit fans have felt in years. Maybe Millen does know what he is doing drafting all those WRs. Greatest show on turf part 2?

I'm not convinced that they can run the table yet, but I don't know where the one loss will come from in that schedule. I really don't. <_<

This will be the most fun Lion team since the run-n-shoot. The NFC is bad, but Carolina looks like the team to beat. The Lions will be able to play with most the teams. Playoffs are not out of the question if the Lions can consistently score points like this.

My guess is that with NFC home field wrapped up by Week 15, they will hold back the starters at San Diego, to keep them healthy and to not show the Chargers anything in case they meet in the Super Bowl.

Yeah, but SD will have wrapped up the west by then and may do the same thing. You have to think that the Lions are deep enough to have their 2nd stringers beat the Chargers' 2nd stringers, don't you?

You'll excuse me being brief, but

*bump*

In!

What a game! After watching the finish of MIN-DET (and OAK-DEN) I'm exhausted. But happy.

Well that was their last big test for the year. The 1972 Dolphins alumnus are probably drinking the champagne tonight, knowing they won't need it.
