"Official" Donald Trump for President: Great Wall of Mexico (1 Viewer)

There should be one primary day where every state/territory votes just like the general election. Assign electoral votes or use popular vote, whatever, but this should be done by the people.
It would be prohibitively expensive for most candidates to run a national campaign from the start.

This is such a glaring example of how ####ed up this whole delegate system is. So hard to believe both parties do this ridiculous crap. I mean this is just shouting as loud as can be to the people fired up to vote....STAY HOME YOUR VOTE IS MEANINGLESS.

Yep, the system has been rigged for a long time but it's much more blatant this time.  I feel for Bernie too.

On Saturday, Ted Cruz polished off his domination of Colorado by collecting all 34 delegates available in the state, enraging the Trump campaign, which responded to the utter and total loss with its predictable amount of vehement vitriol. From The Guardian:

“You go to these county conventions and you see the Gestapo tactics, the scorched-earth tactics,” said Paul Manafort, Trump’s newly appointed “convention manager”, in an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday.

Manafort was not specific about what Cruz, the Texas senator who is best placed to take on Trump, or his campaign had done to remind him of the Nazi secret police.

The Cruz win is essential because it drastically increases the likelihood of a contested convention—in that potential scenario, delegates would be free to select whichever candidate they wanted.

In addition, according to The Guardian, the Trump campaign made its unmistakable mark in Colorado by passing out mislabeled ballots with misspelled names and having delegates scream such fetching calls to arms as “Donald Trump! Buy Colorado weed!”

I see how you follow sho, junior, and tim around from thread to thread, hanging on their #### whenever they post? What makes you think I want you trolling me like that?

You can continue to troll my alias. You're like a dog following another dog around sniffing its ###.
:tumbleweed:

Cruz/GOP really destroying themselves long-term with this election.

I truly think a viable third party is coming.  Can you imagine a third party that could capture the passion of the Sanders/Trump supporters?  It would be a major force.

It would be great with the right face....who though?

I still don't get the obsession anti-trumpers have and why they hang out in the trump threads. Read the hillary and bernie threads, nothing close to this. Very weird.
I'd guess a car with a Trump bumper sticker is much more likely to be vandalized than one with a Bernie or Hillary sticker.

WTF is going on in CO?  Lunacy.

WTF is going on in CO?  Lunacy.
I just saw it on Twitter which prompted my post.    Just mind-boggling that the Republicans are doing this. Trumps supporters are rabid and aren't going to come back with their tail between their legs.

Just as they turned on Fox News, they'll turn on the Republican Party in general.

Trump has warts but they had a chance at a republican president two months ago.  Now there is zero chance and their party is about to have the biggest joke of a convention in most of our lifetimes.

Here's another example of the hard work Cruz has been doing personally.

Today while Trump was talking in Rochester or wherever Cruz went to one of the smallest GOP districts in NY state. It's so small that Romney got 3% of the vote there.

Why did Cruz go there when Trump was speaking to 5000 people?

Because each district carries 3 delegates. If Cruz carries that district he has done as much as Trump and maybe more that day.

So because of that, you surmise it's appropriate for the GOP elite to award all of the delegates to Cruz without party members voting?  Insanity.
Who do you think was at this two week long confab, the illuminati?

Party members were there, they voted. Citizens voted for the party slate in actual elections. Trump could have courted their votes just like he did in Long Island the other day? Why did he not do so? Why did he not have a campaign there?

Sorry but what kind of crappy incompetent manager doesn't even have a team to show up to win votes? What kind of fool doesn't even know this is going on?

Public primaries didn't really become a national thing until 1972.  And even then there were plenty of loopholes and shenanigans.

Say what you will about this delegate system, but those are the rules of the game and Cruz is playing the game correctly.

If the Donald thinks he's above courting 3 delegate, 500-person towns then that's his problem.

"I've scored 3 touchdowns on offense, these cheaters are scoring with special teams, fumble returns, field goals and safeties!"

GOP destroying themselves with a platform that ignores demographic and public sentiment trends. This is just the first time it's really biting them in the ### on a national level. Hope the party wakes up.

Cruz has 76% of Trump's popular vote, but only 73% of Trump's delegate count. Seems pretty fair to me. If anything, Trump has benefited from the rules, and if he gets 50% of the NY popular vote, he will benefit even more from the rules. Trump should stop whining.

Right the stat I saw is that Trump has won 37% of the total vote but 45% of the delegates.

I think the latest poll is ~70% would support the GOP candidate, that's basically what Obama got from Hillary fans in 08. And I bet a lot of the 30% rarely votes in general.
Didn't know that; I would have expected a higher % to switch to Obama.

That said, Hillary didn't encourage her supporters to sit out the election or back another candidate.    There's a possibility that Trump might do that, in which case I expect that 70% to decrease.

Colorado Trump Delegate Removed And Replaced

Asinine.

These weird Colorado rules have been in place since last summer. Trump can't figure it out, too bad. The incompetence in the way this guy runs his stuff is highlighted yet again.

Honestly shocked at what people see in this megatwat.
