Say what you will, but you know that age-old saying is true:   "Get two rare-earth metal guys in a room and **zip**, out come the dongs!!"

US purchased 57 Million pounds of uranium in 2015.  6% of that came out of US ground.  We would need to increase production at a staggering rate to meet our demand.

#Facts

No no....I asked you specifically "how much cobalt came out of the ground in Idaho".  Don't try to spin my words to make yourself look less foolish.

And they are done with the permitting process.  Surprised a guy who consulted with them doesn't know that.  There's a YouTube video just released where there CEO said they have all the permits they need. And yet, zero production.
No you were a #### and changed the question to hide your own stupidity. Your original question, which I challenged was " There are critical raw resources that we cannot produce enough of here to sustain our needs.  We are fully dependent on the kindness of other nations to supply us with these resources."

My response was, yes we can produce it.

The you dodged your original statement to point out that we are not.actually producing it. But I am addressing your original ignorant uninformed statement that we cannot produce it. We have the resources, we can produce them, just get the #### out of the way and stop governemnt delays.

You are proving my original point. Sure, we don't go cold Turkey but we could tap into our natural resources a bit more than we have.

However, there is value in leaving our #### in the ground while the rest of the world mines theirs to smitherines.

I do like the conversation I helped create here.

I'm not talking oil and gas.  There are a lot of strategic resources we need that aren't produced here and you are smart and worldly enough to know it.  All these EVs that Elon Musk wants to build?  Where is he getting the lithium and cobalt needed for his batteries?  Hint: Not here.  What about germanium needed for night vision goggles?  Rare earths for strategic military needs?  Uranium to fuel our nuclear power?
The good thing about message board dork wars is a record of events.  Bueno, here was my original question.  I asked where we are going to get these materials.  You answered it by saying, and I'm paraphrasing:. "Well we CAN get them all right here.  We don't, but we can if we want too".

Bueno, you CAN sleep with a super model. It's physically possible.  But it will never ever happen.  Sure, we CAN mine more supply, but not enough to meet our growing needs.  If you think we can mine enough cobalt out of Formation  to meet Elon Musk's production targets, you're out of you mind crazy.  If you think we can take 57 million pounds of uranium out of our ground annually to meet our reactor needs, you're alone in that belief.

“Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets,” Trump’s son, Donald Jr., told a real estate conference in 2008, according to an account posted on the website of eTurboNews, a trade publication. “We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.”

Rare metals....and I thought this topic was about Trump for President.....lol.

I missed so much of this... someone fill me in.  The quick Reader's Digest version!  If that's even possible.

Thanks,

Jim

Liberals and their defeatist attitudes.

William Munny...You are one bad ###...I would not mess with you...and What a great movie...Gran Torino was also a great movie....Kicked ###!

  Wouldn't surprise me.  It seems Putin feels like a Trump presidency will set back U.S. relations with the rest of the world and Russia will be able to step in and make a major power grab.

Brexit, Turkey, and a potential Trump presidency with nothing but U.S. isolation and bluster with it's own European allies? Things are looking up for Russia.

Haven't you made it your mission on here to respond to Trump supporters that say "but Hillary does it too" and say that's not an argument?  Pretty ironic that you'd chime in with what you've opposed for so long.
I responded to a post that was about both Priebus and DWS...saying they were both idiots.

You think that is the same as deflecting criticism of Trump by comnling about Hillary?

Poor logic there...but not surprising.

Actually, I'm not. It ill take a modification of FLPMA and the way we go about permitting constant delays, but we can do it. And Uranium will be easier than cobalt because it can be mined with injection well technology (though that is very inefficient at recovery). But if you think you can't, then guess what? You can't. But opthers, not just me, know it can be done.

As to Formation, I know Scott and Marianne(R.I.P) and Bill. Known them for decades. I've consulted for them; I've logged some of the core from the project. It is there, and there is a lot more there than they can say, IMO. The resource isn't the problem. The problems that they have had is why I have given up on mining in the U.S. except for a few states (Nevada, Arizona, Utah, California) and work mainly in Mexico right now. Our country is hostile to exploiting our natural resources, but it will change. It is going to have to change. Manufacturing isn't the only high-priced jobs that we have lost.

Now if you asked about tellurium, that would be an interesting conversation too.

(p.s. next time you want to invest in a resource stock ask me - I'm very likely better than you at picking them.)

I would never invest in Russia. I would never invest in a company that was heavily invested in Russia.

It should. It would eliminate most candidates, but Trump supporters don't really care about the truth
I'll defer to Hillary supporters for my moral compass.  It would eliminate no one, ever, in any election.  Keep thinking you found a smoking gun though, it's funny.
Just to be sure we are on the same page...Reince Prebius, the head of the RNC, admitted that Trump lied about Ted Cruz's father being in on the JFK assassination. And you are saying that is no big deal to you.

Am I getting you correct? Because if so, most people would think that was a pretty big deal

Sounds like he's about to make a great deal for America. How many times have I heard people say "Trump can't do this, Trump can't do that".

We have leverage, we have resources. We are the economic engine of the globe. They need to realize we can sustain ourselves and aren't afraid to take our ball and go home!
I realize you're only in your early 20's, but I often wonder if you aren't 12

I am sure you know all the Trump bashers here are not libs. This conservative is not thrilled Trump came in and high jacked the GOP nomination. I am not big fan of open primaries. We get stuck in this so called rigged 2 party system. I think it would have been better if Trump and Sanders would have run as independents and let the Democrats and Republicans pick their own candidates that assimilates the platform of their particular parties. They also should be allowed to pick candidates they see having the best chance of winning. It's like inviting your self to someone's party and then demanding that they play a different genre of music.

I don't know how it's construed but I'm simply suggesting we remove all the Muslims who have illegally entered these European countries and are putting a strain on their society and economy.

If we had a place to bring them like a safe haven in the country they came from, I'd say that's a win-win for everyone.
Aren't the majority of muslims in Europe legally there?

And aren't many of them fleeing radical factions like ISIS? If so, wouldn't tossing them back to the middle East be creating new enemies and problems among those Muslims who could potentially be friends and allies?

Your answers, like Trump's, are far too simplistic, unrealistic, and irrational, lacking in even a basic understanding of what's going on. It's kind of scary to think you aren't alone. This exactly the kind of narcissitic thinking that the rest of the world hates America for in the first place.

I don't think you're understanding what you're saying and your lack of empathy towards those poor Europeans is startling.

Perhaps you haven't thought the situation through to its entirety and are showing too much bias towards the side of these refugees.

It's sad that so many people like you are so willing to throw our European friends to the wolves.

Seriously? A trumpite accusing someone else of throwing Europeans to the wolves? That's rich right there. For the last 30 pages you've consistantly and constantly said "America first", and your candidate has openly talked about abandoning NATO and re-negotiating every deal we have with everyone, INCLUDING europe.

Maybe I was wrong about you. Maybe you're really a very clever and worldly 50 year old that just likes to act silly in order to spur on conversation.

Paul Manafort Statement on Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned over her failure to secure the DNC's email servers and the rigged system she set up with the Clinton campaign. Now Hillary Clinton should follow Wasserman Schultz's lead and drop out over her failure to safeguard top secret, classified information both on her unauthorized home server and while traveling abroad. Wasserman Schultz's emails only put the Democratic Party at risk, but Hillary Clinton's emails put all of America at risk.
