I don't know. I can't claim to be an expert at everything, I know my limits.

All know is that race relations are very bad, there are less blacks working now than before Obama was in office, less blacks have houses than before he was in office, and more blacks are on government aid than before he was in office.

Maybe the recession hit the black (poor) community rougher than everyone else and they're still lagging behind. 8 years though.

I just figured Obama would take care of his people. Not in a racist sense but I know he brought in record black vote only for them to be in a worse position than before he was in office. I would be mad too.
:lmao:  You should probably take a minute to look at Obama's approval ratings by demographic group before you keep digging.

you think black people are mad at Obama because he didn't take care of his people and this anger is manifesting itself in the form of police violence?

(why am I even ask :lmao: )
I mean, there'd be less rioting if these people were working, owned homes, and didn't live in poverty.

It's definitely not helping the situation. They should be mad at Obama since their race rebounded so poorly from the recession but maybe it's not his fault. But I would be mad if I was them, it fits right into their BLM narrative.

Everyone else rebounded from the recession but them.

Let me guess: you wrote a paper on this too.

Okay folks, we've established Trump supporters are complete morons. But they're not going away. Rather than continue to laugh at Trump, I think we should take a page from his book and figure out a way to profit of these idiots. What do we have as ideas?

Remember the "people who..." Bits a few pages back? All of those things.

Em, I'll give you this. The economy right now is basically A Tale of Two Cities, and if you want to emphasize the "worst of times" part of it, that doesn't make you wrong. But when you try to pin it on one presidency you lose all credibility. Wage stagnation didn't start 8 years ago. Jobs didn't start moving overseas 8 years ago. This has been going on for decades.

If you can't see that, then it's entirely unsurprising that you'd believe in Trump to fix it. But the rest of us are living the real world. You should try joining us here.

Trump condoms. With a picture of his hands on the box.

At this point, Alex Jones might as well be running Trump's campaign. It feels like the Republican party has finally been completely co-opted by far right wing conspiracy nuts. They are now officially the party of "Lizard man Bush did 9/11."

Granted I've never been to a rally, but I've never seen someone wearing one of these that was not a hipster joke.  I've seen easily 3x as many Make Donald Drumpf Again hats in public.
I've seen one at a gas station. Old white guy in a rusty pickup covered with a bunch of right wing type bumper stickers.

Every time I come in here looking for actual policy discussion all I see are a bunch of lefties taking turns kissing Obama's butt cheeks and calling Trump supporters idiots.

Come on guys, most of you are better than this.

Everytime I try to discuss they just insult. They'd rather play schoolyard bully than be the intellectuals they claim to be.
What is Trump going to do to ease tensions between the inner-city African American communities and the police?

This one time back in eighth grade, we had an assembly in the auditorium. The special needs kids were there along with the mainstream ones. There was about 20 minutes that were unsupervised by faculty. Kids were all over the place. A few of us found this special needs kid we all knew. Real friendly kid that everyone liked. We were asking him questions and cracking up at his answers. Each question had a more nonsensical answer than the last. We'd all be high fiving and laughing. Including our special friend. I guess we were having fun at his expense, but he was in heaven. He loved interacting with us.

Not sure why this story popped into my head after all these years.

Create jobs to get these kids off the streets and on the right path.
in which sectors? What kind of jobs is Don going to create for the "kids on the street" that don't already exist? Does he have a plan for getting kids through higher levels of education like trade schools and colleges?

as an aside, where does Trump stand nowadays on decriminalizing the use of most drugs?

Having fun at the expense of a special needs kid shows what type of person you are.

This is equivalent of "Make American Great Again". The Senate control GOP blocked several job bills Obama had proposed, maybe if you GOP would get their head out their 4$$ and quit hurting the country because of their political spite.  I mean teh GOP shutdown the government for  NOTHING, which costs hundreds of millions of dollars.  This money could have been used to - I DON'T KNOW, FUND A JOB BILL.

Some lunchtime reading for anyone who's not up to date on today's madness because they've been distracted by eminence's blatherings:

This Bloomberg profile of Trump's new campaign chief is frightening

Trump says he "won't use" US intelligence agencies if he's elected president

Every day you think it can't get any crazier, and almost every day it does.

Won't use the US intelligence community.

Wow. But I can see how he wouldn't have any use for intelligence.

How about t shirt that says "Property of George Soros?"

Oh wait.  Wrong group of supporters.

I found this interesting:

CIA Director John Brennan has already suggested he would resign rather than comply with Trump’s orders to employ harsh interrogation methods or torture against America's enemies, and it’s unclear whether others would join him.
I wonder how many folks would "defect" like the Republicans are doing and how many would face some form of repercussions from a Trump administration. I would not be surprised if he tried to hang them all for treason.

Kind of a good point...

You have to say this for the crooked demagogues and reactionary populists of the American past: they may have stirred the bitter soup of nativist resentment with as much zeal as Donald J. Trump, but their family counselors did not take time out from politics to cruise the Aegean on a plutocrat’s yacht; their rhetorical counselors did not attempt, for decades, to instill fear in their employees through the most squalid sort of sexual terror; and their political counselors never worked in the interest of Slavic autocrats.
