Do Republicans feel that way about Clinton because of her policies, which have generally been center-left, or because they just hate everything about her persona?

I think most of the distaste for Cruz from the left/Dems is based on policies rather than personality, like 80/20 at least.  Whereas with Clinton I get the feeling that the source of the hatred is more like 80/20 the other way.
Honestly believe a big part of it is because she's a vocal woman. Many of the old gaurd Republicans believe in the old "traditional" roles and would prefer women kept a household instead of working a job. Many Christian fundamentalist types are this way. A prominant female politician just doesn't sit right with them.

A few weeks ago, Trump announced that he was making an impromptu visit to Colorado and would be holding a rally at the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum in Denver -- a couple miles from my house.  I felt like I couldn't pass up the opportunity to witness this strange moment in American history firsthand.  So, I went on Trump's campaign website and reserved a couple tickets for his rally later that Friday night.

When I got home from work, I drank a beer and ate a few edibles because I thought that the whole Trump rally experience would be that much more mind-blowing if I was really high for it.  I threw on my Comrade Brewing t-shirt because I thought it would be sufficiently ambiguous that I could blend in with either the Trump supporters or the protesters.  Do I share Trump's admiration for Putin or am I just mocking it?  Who knows.  As I was getting close to the rally, I hear police sirens and blue lights flashing in my rearview mirror.  ####.  I was not looking forward to performing roadside sobriety tests as those edibles were settling in.  To my relief, it was just Trump and his police escort.  Phew.

I ultimately got to the venue about 10 minutes after the rally was supposed to start, thinking that my entry would be guaranteed given that I had a reserved ticket to the event.  But, at that point, the fire marshal had already stopped allowing people into the venue because it had been oversold beyond capacity by the Trump campaign (the same thing that happened earlier that day in Colorado Springs).  How does Trump expect to run a country when he can't competently oversee a speech for a couple thousand people?  Apparently, people had been lined up for hours to see Trump and about 600 ticketed people didn't get inside the venue.

It was a nice night outside the Wings Over the Rockies museum, so I figured I'd have a couple beers at the beer garden next door and then check out the Trump rally scene after the speech.  There were about 60 or so protesters outside the Trump rally, which were mostly twenty-something girls and hot girls with petitions.  Maybe being shut out of the rally wasn't so bad after all.

After about an hour, a herd of Trumpkins began emerging from the museum.  I was so in awe of witnessing Trumpkins in their natural habitat that I felt like I had to document it in photo essay form.  The crowd consisted of a wide array of old people, creepy old dudes with a white supremacist vibefrat boy d-bagsold white dudes wearing American flag shirts and "Make America Great Again" hats, guys wearing InfoWars shirts, and other assorted weirdos.  At one point, this frat boy Trumpkin walked out, threw his arms in the air, and yelled, "That's right!  I do love his hate, baby!"  A fairly common refrain from Trump supporters leaving the venue was "#### you!  #### Hillary!  You're all going to be looking for a job real soon."  Another old Trumpkin approached the protesters and proclaimed, "Who wants to debate me with reason and fact?!?  Who wants to debate?!?  WHY DO YOU HATE ME AND GOD?!??"  In what was sadly the most conciliatory moment of the night, that same guy befriended some black protesters with a "White lives matter! Black lives matter! Latino lives matter! EVERY LIFE MATTERS!!!" chant.  This video does a pretty great job of recapping the scene outside of the rally as the Trump supporters exited the venue.  **SPOILER ALERT** Quotes from the video include: "New World Order!  Chemtrails!"; "We got work tomorrow!" (even though it was Friday); "Lock her up!"; and "Hillary's a murderer!"

The protesters were an interesting group of people as well.  There was a group of black protesters that were cracking me up.  One guy just kept yelling, "Obaaaamaaaaa!  Obaaaammaaaaa!!  Obama comin' for that third term!"  At one point, one of the black guys said, "Melania?  How she gonna go hard for American when she Peruvian?  Half-Peruvian or something."  A couple girls had me laughing when one said to the other, "Let's do the sexist one.  No, the racist one" and, without missing a beat, the other girl yelled, "GREAT JOB BEING RACISTS!!!"  Another guy was just holding up his cell phone, on which he was displaying a picture that said, "Donald Trump hates cats."  And while I agree with this guy's message, he certainly wasn't an ideal representative of Hillary supporters.  There were a number of well-intentioned, intelligent people out there that tried to engage in a reasonable dialogue with Trump supporters.  I just don't think that anyone's mind was changed as a result of the conversations.

Overall, it was a really weird night.  I was somewhat disturbed and dismayed about what has become of American politics, but I still retain some hope for the future.  Trump has certainly captured a segment of the population that has been fueled by the right wing media's demonization of Obama and Hillary, fear mongering against immigrants, and alt-conservative conspiracy theories.  Yet, while that segment of the population might constitute the plurality of the Republican party these days, I just don't believe that they will ever be a majority of the country.  I think the latest poll numbers indicating that Clinton has a 36 percentage point advantage over Trump with voters between the age of 18 and 34 show that Trump's brand of politics is not the future of this country.

A recession followed by a disaster of a President. Definitely some lows in my book.

The country is a joke right now.
My country is not a joke. It never stopped being great, and it won't stop being great anytime soon. The edge we enjoyed after WW2 ended, and nothing can ever bring it back, but we are still great.

The sad thing is that Trump and his kind don't recognize exactly what it is that has made us great.

I loathe answers like this. As if HRC, or ANY OTHER PERSON running for office doesn't want to create jobs?

HOW IS HE GOING TO DO SO????

This is the problem Em...Tump is rattling off one slogan after another with no substance. On the rare occasions he tries to add substance, he sounds like a blithering idiot.

Stop quoting slogans or telling us what Trump wants to do (create jobs), and explain in detail HOW he's going to create jobs.

Were you aware that there were 'these' assorted kinds Trumpkins in your area or did it catch you by surprise?

Doing the lord's work

Fantastic write up Buckfast.  The fact that you couldn't get in the rally even though you had a ticket is actually standard behavior for campaigns.  If they didn't do that, supporters of the opposing candidate would just snap up tons of tickets online even if they had no intention of going to the rally.  Then the candidate is stuck speaking to a half-empty venue.

The further along we go the more apparent it is that Trump does this textbook Psychological Deflection.  I studied psychology in college and this is an example when a person projects their own inadequacies or issues upon somebody else to deflect it from them to attribute those qualities upon somebody else

He says that Hillary gets tired and needs to go back home to sleep in her bed when he himself goes back to Trump Tower every night

he implies that Hillary's health is an issue but the letter he released seems forged

he makes a huge thing about veterans yet gets caught up in the Kahn debacle

he calls Cruz- Lyin' Ted yet he is caught doing the same countless times

he speaks about the Russians having access to Hillary's server yet he has deeper ties than anybody and implored them to do it

he called out Romney for not releasing his taxes, yet he doesn't do it himself

he knocks McCain for being captured when he didn't even go to war

he speaks about a dishonest press yet he hires Roger Ailes and, by the way, his son in law owns a newspaper

he speaks about trade packs losing American manufacturing jobs yet he sends out a ton of his Trump branded products outside

he speaks about corruption in Washington but readily admits that he has given millions to campaigns for access and favors

he speaks about immigrants as if they are a cancer to society yet he is married to one who, apparently, came here under questionable circumstances

he knocks Clinton on infidelity yet has had three wives one of which he apparently cheated on

he speaks glowingly about his children yet  there is the one from his second marriage who he completely forgets

it's like kid who does something wrong but just can't avoid telling his parents that he did.  He just invites the scrutiny

Wait, I saw on Morning Joe that Kellyanne Conway is his new campaign manager?? Not even factoring in how creepy her smile is, I seem to recall her running a super-pac for Cruz and trashing Trump just a few months ago, and now she is his campaign manager? I guess it's true what Saul Goodman once said: you go with the winner.

It's all politics.

You're an American hero, or at least a FFA hero.

I have questions about this picture, other than the obvious one of what would possess someone to throw in that extra F.  Specifically, I want to know about the guy in the green hat. Why does he care so much about the 7th Amendment (right to trial by jury) and what does that have to do with Trump? It's not like he was confused about which Amendment is which, I blew up the picture and it actually says something about juries.  What does the other sign say?  Who's the tyrant on the shirt (I assume Obama but what little I can see doesn't really look like him, kinda looks like OJ's mugshot)?  What's on the green trucker hat?  That guy is the most intriguing thing I saw in the entire delightful collection of photos.

Starting to make sense

You've just got to trust him on this one: Donald Trump never wanted to be president and is sabotaging his own campaign, which Michael Moore says he “knows for a fact”—though he won't say how. In a blog post on his website, Moore writes that the campaign was originally a ploy to nail down a better deal for The Apprentice. Unhappy with NBC’s offer, Trump “had floated the idea” of running for president on the assumption that the increased spotlight on him would strengthen his hand. But Trump knew "that saying you’re going to do something is bupkus—DOING it is what makes the bastards sit up and pay attention." And so he went all in, only to find hisrelationship with NBC severed after his comments about Mexican immigrants. But he kept at it, writes Moore, so rival networks could see his "value."

Trump began racking up primary wins, and Moore writes the awakening came after the New Jersey primary win. "You can see the moment it finally dawned on him … that 'Oh s---!' revelation: 'I’m actually going to be the Republican nominee—and my rich beautiful life is f#*@ing over!'" Moore ends with a theory: that Trump’s "meltdown of the past three weeks [see this and this, per Moore] was no accident." Rather than lose to Hillary Clinton, Trump would rather tank his own campaign, perhaps allowing him to "blame 'others' for forcing him out," Moore writes. "Maybe it’s all part of his new strategy to get the hell out of a race he never intended to see through to its end anyway.” Read the full post here.

My guess is that the 7th Amendment thing has to do with the lack of prosecution against Hillary?  Like, Comey and Loretta Lynch shouldn't get to decide not to prosecute, it should be left to a jury?  I realize that's not what the 7th Amendment is really about but that's all I could come up with.

"Tyrant" is the name of some TV show on FX and the logo looks similar, but I googled and couldn't find a picture of that T-shirt, so .

I like this theory, just because it's hilarious to think of someone believing that's what the 7th Amendment means. I imagine him chasing after cops who let speeders off with warnings, screaming and waving a copy of the Bill of Rights.

Wish it meant he was going to leave but I'm assuming he means like Brexit was forecast to lose he too will shock the world with a win.
I'm fine with him staying in, personally. Literally anyone else they replaced him with would have a better chance at winning.

Trump on the Clinton Foundation: 'Let's give them the benefit of the doubt'

...

Trump sounded reluctant to go after Clinton in an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity, which the pro-Trump host aired on Wednesday.

"We know that gays and lesbians in Saudi Arabia can get the death penalty ... would you ever take money from a country that treats gays, lesbians, Jews and Christians that way?" Hannity asked.

"Well you don't want to do that and if they knew about it that would be one thing and I assume they knew about it, bigly, but certainly they know about it now so maybe they can give the money back," Trump said, as the crowd laughed at his answer.

"Wait a minute, they knew about it," Hannity interrupted, "because that has been Saudi Arabia's practice for years."

"But you know what, let's give them the benefit of the doubt. They certainly knew —" Trump said before Hannity cut him off.

"You're going to give Hillary the benefit of the doubt?" Hannity interjected. "I'm not."

"You know what, you know what, they should give the money back," Trump responded.

Well, there's nothing you can do about Hillary, folks, well, yaknow, unless the 7th Amendment people take care of her...

Sean Hannity spent the entire last decade defending the Bush family's ties to Saudi Arabia. He used to have that prince ambassador as a frequent guest on his show to justify the Iraq war, and anyone opposed to that war was unpatriotic! Amazing.

I know, he's one of the whack jobs along with Cruz and several other 2016 GOP candidates I was thinking about . They can't simply elevate him to the top spot though.
I think I read that they'd just get to pick a replacement -- and I can't imagine too many people would want to step in to this ####show unless they have nothing to lose. Ryan, etc wouldn't do it IMO. Pence would fit the bill now that he's off of the ticket for Governor here. And I hate Pence with the fire of a thousand suns. He's seriously awful.

He's pretty much a huge piece of ####.

Is it me or has Trump been very guarded in outwardly attacking Hillary? "Crooked Hillary" aside, I haven't seen him go at her with the same venom he directed towards a plethora of others, including his R opponents in the primaries. I have to admit I don't spend much time watching Trump speeches, but I'm sure if he had a few good zingers they would be posted all over the internet.

I just find it a bit interesting.

you know what, that's the only thing that makes sense.  trump is going to parlay this whole thing into his own news network that will make Fox News appear legitimately "fair and balanced"...it's gonna be news for right wing extremists.
That's been the priority all along.

Not sure why anyone finds this stuff is surprising anymore. For quite a while now actions and policy have meant absolutely nothing to the right. The only thing that matters is whether you are "with them" or "against them."  If you're "with them", then it doesn't matter if you have ties to Saudi Arabia, run up huge deficits, or repeatedly cheat on your wife. These things are only wrong if you aren't part of the tribe.

With Bannon on board, mean Trump is coming.
