The Rs are ragging on Chicago because murders have increased there this year, but really because the Obamas and Hillary Clinton have so much history with the city.  If Chicago is a disaster, then the Obamas and Hillary are a disaster, too.

 
African-Americans are generally much more likely to agree with the admittedly vague "Is the country headed in the right direction" polling than white Americans.

I don't think Republicans ever grasp how enormously sensitive black Americans are to voter suppression efforts. After a century of being systematically denied the fundamental basic right of voting, any attempt to negate the gains in that area are going to be met with hostility. Why don't Republicans start supporting more inclusive voting policies? That's got to be a better tactic than holding a figurative gun to black voters' heads and saying "ok, start voting for us and we'll stop trying to take away your voting rights."

I think both parties are more concerned with winning latinos than blacks. I think the republicans will eventually win over the latino vote.  Energy is better spent there.

Conceding 12% of the electorate is a little like conceding California to the Dems. How hard would it be, really, for Republicans to simply be more supportive of all minorities?

Blacks are not a growing demographic.  In 2050, blacks might represent only 1-2% more of the population than today.  Latinos are going to go from around 20% to 35% in the same time frame.  The smart play is to focus on latinos.

If we are talking about poverty levels, I don't feel like looking it up, but if I did I'm sure I would find they have been decreasing as well. 

Maybe he's just talking about litter and the cities being dirty in general. If he is I can point to various programs I am personally aware of that help make them cleaner.

But given that he's just making blanket statements and using subjective terms with no specifics, it's pretty hard to have a conversation about it. And I'll stand by the fact that declaring someone's home city a "####hole" is pretty offensive. I certainly wouldn't want to vote for someone telling me I lived in a ####hole that they needed to fix for me, while simultaneously knowing virtually nothing about it.  :shrug:

I think that's an oversimplification. There is no growing demographic who favors less support for blacks or other minorities. The millennial demo in particular, which will ultimately be the biggest of the age groups, finds non-inclusiveness offensive. It's not hardly necessary for me to point out that the GOP is already struggling to win favor with this group of voters.

They can try to improve their presentation, but I'm just not sure that most minority groups are all that receptive to Republican policies.

Yeah, the idea that Republicans can just suddenly start "appealing to minorities" while ignoring the elephant on the room - Republican base - seems a bit silly.

I really hope pro-life and reverse racism and political correctness and immigration and cucks and libtards are super, super important to you fellas.  Like, I hope it affects your day to day happiness, I hope you think about it alot, and it bothers you that this country is going to hell in a handbasket.

Trends are reversing against the left.  3rd generation latinos in the United States are leaning republican now.  They want less government.  3rd generation latinos as a share of the latino electorate are growing with each passing year.  There are more and more republicans with each passing election going forward, with nothing to stop it.  You are simply misinformed about where the United States is heading.  You probably have never read this information before.  

The current state of the United States is that the democrats are enjoying a bubble of voters thanks to an immigration wave.  But that comes at devastating cost to the democrats as the children of that wave will be republicans.  It means profound changes are coming, like California being a republican stronghold in a few decades.

The democrats won the present but permanently sacrificed their future to do so.

If you learn anything today, realize this:  the democrats didn't convince the people living in America to vote democrat.  They have won elections in recent years by importing waves of immigrants who voted for them.  Without that, they lose badly.  And now the kids of that wave will vote republican.

That's as ridiculous as the things I've been seeing showing a map of who has more Facebook activity, Trump or Hillary. Or more lawn signs. Trump has a base of zealots that hasn't grown since the primaries. It's the same old non-educated white males that can't wait till there's a wall.
