Rohn Jambo:
Trump didn't just say "I'd like to hear his wife say something", he said "She probably maybe wasn't allowed to have anything to say". And that's not a particularly horrible thing for Trump to claim, but it just fits right in with how Trump buys into racial and ethnic stereotypes and uses them to judge people. He assumed that she wasn't allowed to speak because he was stereotyping her. Just like he assumed that a judge with a Hispanic last name is Mexican; just like he assumed that a Mexican judge would automatically be biased against his immigration plan; just like he assumed that most Mexican immigrants were rapists or murderers; just like he assumed that Hispanics would vote for him because he ate a taco bowl; just like he assumed that Jews were good negotiators; just like he assumed that a black person at one of his rallies was a protester.
If Trump did all those things as a Democrat, he'd be hammered for his failure to be colorblind.
