I defended Obama's friendship with Jeremiah Wright, and I'll defend Trump's relationship with Steve Bannon.

But if Obama had named Jeremiah Wright a senior advisor in the White House, I would have freaked out.
If your issue is Trump having a political advisor who made anti-Semitic remarks then why did't you take issue with Obama having a political advisor who made anti-Semitic remarks?

Is the distinction between official and unofficial advisor that significant if the advise helps shape the President's policy in both situations?  And should past comments alone automatically disqualify either of these gentleman from an advisory role?

Boy you have the wrong guy here. I have a HUGE problem with Al Sharpton, and I did NOT like Obama meeting with him. And if Obama had hired him as his senior advisor inside the White House, my head would have exploded, seriously.

What's Aleppo?

(I didn't know Aleppo or Bannon. :bag: This Bannon guy sounds like a real ####### though. Not exactly bring the country together here Trump. Sad.)
Kinda like that I suppose. I don't read any Breitbart or Drudge and really only headline-scan CNN.com. Definitely don't watch any cable news stations or listen to talk radio.

Bannon doesn't appear to be a great start.

More importantly than Grenell, Bolton is supposedly the leader in the clubhouse for Sec of State.  So we're setting up for Bush foreign policy Part 2, the return of the Neo-Cons.

There is no flip side.

It doesn't matter how many reasonable people Trump appoints if he has Steve Bannon in there. Bannon ruins everything else he might be trying to do or present. Bannon is a cancer who exemplifies the worst fears about Donald Trump for people who did not vote for him.
Oh, I didn't mean it as a way of saying that Priebus mitigates Bannon in any way. It's just that those two guys are pretty much polar opposites and appointing them both makes no sense.

Pretty tired of seeing any Republicans who claim to be conservatives making excuses for Bannon. He has made it quite clear that he considers himself an alt-conservative and not a traditional conservative in any way. Anyone making excuses for him and enabling him when his desire is to smash traditional conservatism is a fool. This is the garbage that drove me from the Republican party.

What? Trump is ruler for life now?  He just barely won an election where 63% for the people who are eligible to vote didn't vote for him. He is on thin ice. Sorry bad math 73% didn't vote for him

This is a pretty long article detailing what Trump and the Republicans have in mind for the environment- basically gutting the power of the EPA, ending restrictions on coal, and opening up more public lands for coal and oil drilling.

Serious question for conservatives: I know many of you are skeptical of climate change. But is this really what you want to see happen?
Yep

When Trump gets through with America half of those 63% will reelect him in a landslide.

There is just no hope for some as the liberalism infection has run to deep so again on Nov 10 2020 (akaTrumpday II ) they will be running around the streets crying destroying things because it is who they are.

But the rest of America will rejoice in America being great again because they elected a President who would get out the way and allow Americans to make America great again!

Tim says: "Hey guys...I know you spent a year trying to get this guy elected even though his own party, the entire Democrat Party and the entire media cabal fought against it...now that you won...are you sure you don't just want to continue with Obama's policies?"

Here's one thing I didn't understand...if same-sex marriage is settled law according to Donald, how is Roe v Wade not?
I think a more accurate way to put it is that Trump is fine with same-sex marriage but also fine with abortion being left up to the states.  And whereas public opinion has moved very sharply in favor of SSM, polling numbers on abortion haven't changed much in the 25 years.

(Also, to be pedantic, Roe is technically not settled law.  It was partially-overturned in Casey, which is the controlling precedent right now).

That's not what I asked. Please answer the question. We're not just talking about Obama, but the policies of several Presidents, both Republican and Democrat, for the last 40 years, that are going to be erased. And we're going to pretend that climate change doesn't exist. Are you sure that's what you want?

I AM ABSO####INGLUTELY ECSTATIC THAT GOP AND DEM POLICIES FROM THE LAST 40 YEARS WILL BE ERASED.

The EPA has been in need of a re-boot for years now.  They are WAY too powerful for a group that has such little oversight, and they've been a den of fraud and waste for decades.

Nice article on them HERE

(put something here about the global warming hoax, how global warming data was manipulated to arrive at a pre-determined conclusion, and Solyndra)

As a liberal, I'm not sure that the Bannon thing is actually bad.  We want a lot of fighting between establishment and Trump Republicans.  We don't want a unified Republican Party pushing things through quickly.
