The main issue is that one could get more than that for Green regardless whether he's a depreciating asset. He's still well thought of in fantasy circles, but he is sliding.

This was def a tough one. I traded Mixon in the deal. We start 1rb and I have David Johnson. I also own 1.2/1.3/1.11/2.10/3.2/3.11 so I’ll add Guice & Sony ( I prefer him over Penny ) to replace Mixon. Been offering 2/3 + player for 1.1 but owner is mute. Engram was what I wanted. Watkins gives me good depth behind Keenan/Devante Adams/Tyreek/Diggs/Watkins/Crowder and WR at 1.11 ( Kirk? ) see who’s there. Pair Engram with Rudolph with Kittle as the backup. Mixon is gonna do good & EE will get hurt bc that’s my luck lol.

2.3 could be Gallup or Miller. not sure I like this trade for Team B. As an Engram owner I'm not 100% convinced his great season will continue to build into future years.
3.3 and Lacy are throw aways. so what this turns out to be is 2.3 for Watkins, which I'd take 2.3 if its Gallup or Miller. Then Mixon for Engram which I think I like Mixon here because he's super young and primed for a breakout.
Looking at your roster, I think you come out ahead holding 1.2 and 1.3. I like Guice way more than Mixon. so I think you turn out just fine here, I just think you might have been able to get a little more or give up a lower 2nd if you had one. any lower 2nd and I would have liked this better

yeah had you not posted your roster I think I would have had a different take. Considering your embarrassment of riches in this upcoming draft, you can afford to lose everything you did. No TE ar Engrams level in this draft that's for sure, but RBs to replace and exceed Mixon, very likely

Yeah that’s why I posted the roster and picks. I would’ve voted differently not knowing the exact situation. Hard to judge a deal when you don’t know the full effect. I really hate giving up Mixon tho. I’m an OU alum/fan and always thought he’d be good in the NFL. He’s primed to break out this year but like you said Guice and Sony behind DJ more the makes up for it. A lot like Penny but i just can’t get behind him. I’d like to deal 1.11 and move up personally. Even backwards but if I stand pat I can see myself taking best WR avail which I think it’ll be Kirk there unless someone slides. Also agree there is no Engram in this draft. Thanks again.

PPR start 2 TE and only 1 RB? I would take Engram alone over the Mixon package in that setup.
Because people are to concerned abt age then they should be? Even with Greens "bad" year last year he was like the #10WR in most regular PPR leagues and probably puts around those stats for atleast 2 more years with a couple more years after that of decent but not stud like numbers to end his career

Green isn't done by a long shot. That is way too cheap for Green. While I think it's better to sell a player a year too soon than to be saddled with him a year too late, I don't think we're even close to that with A J Green. Maybe in a couple of years.

I feel like the “sell AJG” crowd is a little early to the party. That offense has nowhere to go but up. Discounting a proven talent over a Lions rookie RB is how you loose, IMO of course.

Brown should age well so he has a couple more WR1 seasons left in him but I'd trade him for 1.01 too. This is the last window to get a big haul for Brown imo. So you either trade him this upcoming draft or early season or keep him until he's done.

Considering we have no idea what Bell and Big Ben will be doing next year, I think this is definitely the sell high point. ben retires and bell leaves, I'm not sure Brown has the same value as he has today

I agree. Brown owners are wise to send out offers. The offers I’ve received without me asking for him were still valuing him as a top 5 overall dynasty value which ain’t happening. Getting Barkley much more exception than rule, or at least I’d hope.
By this logic, people should not be as high on Juju as they are...we should be downgrading him for the same uncertainty, no?
Yet he still draws high 1st round value. People are overreacting to the age cliff, in my view. No reason why Brown cannot continue to generate good WR1 value for many years to come.

I do look at JuJu that way too. His value is definitely impacted by who is throwing the ball to him. Most WRs are like that. Browns value is too. look at his numbers when Big Ben was hurt. Barely startable at times.
Many teams with average to below average QBs are wasting their good WRs best years. many WRs that if they were on better teams may have had much better careers. Imagine Kelvin Benjamin playing with Aaron Rodgers, to name one.
If I owned JuJu I wouldn't be selling unless it was for a kings ransom. the owner in my league thinks he is at an all time sell high, so I may want to actually buy. but I think its foolish to completely disregard a WRs QB likely retiring at the end of the season when discussing his dynasty value.
Age, yeah people tend to over react a bit but no one wants to trade for a 33 year old wr, and they definitely arent giving up the 1.1 for that age.
I think it's strange to bring up Bell. I generally don't view him leaving as impactful one way or the other but since AB had his most target, catches and yards the year that Bell missed a lot of time I'd tend to think it's a positive.
As for Big Ben I will give you my 100% assurance that right now the opposite of retirement is his goal. His main goal right now is landing an extension as his pay right now is around half annually of what he'd get on the open market. That retirement talk he was spewing earlier was a little bit of typical Big Ben being his melodramatic self, a little bit Haley motivated. Worry he'll rapidly decline and I'll say that's valid, but if he thinks he can still play and be in demand for a big deal, like one Brees just got, he's playing.
As for the notion of selling high on AB. Now in some cases, like this trade, yes. But in general that timeframe already passed. I believe he's been the #1 fantasy WR for 5 straight seasons. The only way that does not make you 1.1 and the most valued player in a dynasty league is due to age. So it's not Big Ben or Bell, it's just father time. And the real here is that no matter what he does on the field, no matter if he posts a 6th straight #1WR season, he will continue to decline in terms of marketable value. I own him on 1/3rd of my dynasty teams and that does not mean I advocate moving him, just means I'm aware that no matter what he does his value is still going to drop and unless I was rebuilding a team I'm inclined to ride him out.

I think Juju will increasingly cut into Brown's targets going forward. Juju was only 20 years old when the season started last season... he should only get better going forward.

Gosh, I mean when you put it like that. Yeah I totally agree. He's the best receiver of this generation and *could* end up as a 1B to Jerry Rice's 1A in the end. I see him continuing his dominance much in the same way as guys like Rice, Fitzgerald and Harrison did in terms of longevity and elite play. Outside of injury there is no reason Brown can't still be Brown until 35ish. I only own him in a couple spots, and I could probably find a way to get a haul because there are still a lot of people that think like I do about him, or as described above. But yeah the questions about Bell, Ben and the emergence of Juju are valid questions. As long as Ben there is Brown will get fed. There's room for Juju, too.

That and people assume that when Ben is done the next QB in line will be horrific. I would assume they get someone in there a little better than their current backups.

Well, I never said "great".
However, I can guarantee you they don't just go with what they have. They will either draft/sign or trade for someone.
Why do you assume the pre Ben days mean they will suck at QB when Ben is gone? Weird assumption.

Or which of these FA QBs for 2019 do you expect them to sign and be better than average?
The 2019 draft class is looking really bad at this point.
Sounds like you havent really thought this through, just wishful thinking
So unless Rudolph is good, which I think we have yet to determine, then I fully expect a huge downgrade at QB next year. Assuming Roethlisberger retires after this year, which ESPN predicts.

Before this conversation goes any further are you talking about fantasy football or actual football? Cause there are quite a few QBs out there who aren't very good for actual football but are able to allow their WRs to have good stats.

I suppose if you want to hedge your bet on having a bad fantasy qb produce a top fantasy wr, be my guest. of the top 10 wrs, that scenario is definitely in the minority.

Since we are on the topic of Brown, I also believe that right now is a great time to sell on him. Not because I think the Steelers will have crappy QBs forever after Ben, or that I think his stats will plummet. He is about to be 30 and just had several top seasons. Nothing he could do this year could make his value HIGHER next offseason, not even a 2000 yard season. Most people still view him as a top 7-8'ish dynasty player.
The original deal posted of Brown for Barkely in a non PPR league is an obvious good deal for the guy getting Barkley. In PPR it's very close. If I am contending not sure I could deal Brown for Barkley in PPR. Would really have to depend on a few factors.
