And this is why there's always that small part of me that just wants to sell all firsts, because whiffs happen all up and down the round. It's why I'm trying like hell to trade the 1.12 for CWatson, or Burks, or Dotson.

It is all a matter of preference but I did get Waddle and Jefferson at 1.08 in back-to-back years so I like taking my shots as I'd much prefer one of those guys than Dotson, Burks, or Watson. I get it though, there is always a chance you get Ruggs.

The cheapest way to acquire a stud is through the rookie draft. It won’t always work out but it’s an advantage when it does.

It is a short bench league so studs are more important. Would have obviously made room for all the first rounders I gave up, but now don’t have to drop some end of bench stashes.
Still leaves me with 1.01, 1.03, 1.05

Getting Burrow in SF is win regardless so good deal. In this case it seems like an especially good deal. For 14 teams it feels downright light for Burrow. Nicely done.

Give me Sanders…the two players are similar in that you never know if they will blow up or disappear…they are more quality depth than starters…in this situation I will default to the RB position as it is much easier to find another WR like Williams…also, Sanders is a FA and does have the potential to end up somewhere that could be a better fantasy fit.

1.03, 2024 1st, 2024 2nd (both late, I’m coming off a 3peat and still strong)

1.08, 2.01, 2024 1st (lock top 4, team is awful and only scored 1300 points this year)
I really like the depth of this draft but don’t have big separation after the first two picks. Feels like it gives me a good chance to snag two really useful players and the 1st is going to be a great trade chip in season if I want to use it.
Only slight hesitation was to maybe wait until closer to the draft in case somebodies value pops at 1.03 but it kinda feels like the opposite is happening right now.

I think I like getting 1.08 and the high future 1st
You mention that you have a gap after your 2nd rookie but what if the guy drafting in the two slot likes someone else or has positional needs and your #2 slips to 3. My only suggestion would be to wait until 1.03
is on the clock then revisit this trade with this owner and see if any other owners come out of the woodwork with a strong(er) offer. I too find myself getting antsy and trying to move 1st rounders before it’s needed out of fear that offers won’t be there but I don’t think this trade is going anywhere…

This is basically Javonte + Pittman for ETN... for Rebuild, I would need to see how JW's recovery goes if he will ever recover the same burst/step he had. I like ETN > JavW but it looks even to me.
I think if Breece Hall's recovery give Robinson time to do something, ETN side for a Win-Now looks good move.

Interesting trade...you can see the thought process of both teams...Hill, ARob and James Robinson are non-factors to me so it comes down to Javonte/Pittman for Etienne so this trade really comes down to what you think of Pittman which I think you will have varying opinions...I would do this for Etienne as I don't like to deal with RBs coming back from ACLs and I am not high on Pittman...as long as that Owner has solid WR depth I would do it...it could come back to bite you but as long as Etienne plays at least like he did last year I am OK with that risk.

You’re probably right. I feel a twinge of regret for not waiting. There’s always a chance Gibbs is there at 3 which would be upsetting. Reason I pulled the trigger is because getting that future 1st is always a high priority for me in the off-season. I try to make that move every year and it’s worked out incredibly well, so getting what I want in an offer and not accepting didn’t feel right either. Definitely can see the merit of waiting but I’m content with it.

It’s be interesting to know if roster spots played any motivation as it’s basically a 2 for 1 as others pointed out. If I’m rebuilding, probably go with the Javonte side. If contending, ETN pretty easily. I really don’t know what to make of Javonte moving forward as it was a rough one for ACLs and he was already not a plus athlete.
In a vacuum I have more confidence in the Etienne side for preserving value. Another subpar season and no one will care about Pittman, Javonte a big question mark, while Jacksonville seems to be ascending.

I’m not saying I’d make that exact trade if I’m either side, especially the JW side. I’d probably shop for different asset(s), but a year from now I think Etienne will be worth the same or more as he is now. I don’t feel that way about Javonte and never really bought him being a worth a top 2 round startup pick either. Pittman I like but he needs a QB to arrive and boost his stats immediately or he’s gonna be considered a fantasy JAG.

Agree to disagree. I am extremely careful about which RBs I invest in and JW at his current price is just completely off my board, which he pretty much has been from the time he was drafted. Etienne is an RB that I would actually consider at his current price tag. Huge disparity between the two for me.

As an ETN shareholder, as I said… I certainly would not trade him for Javonte Williams, I’m just saying what I’ve seen in terms of trades on the various sites. I am also not very high on Pittman, and for the same reasons.
Irony: just before ETN returned to practice, I traded Pittman for him. Looking back I’m super happy with that deal.

Looks like Kamara for 2.12 and future 2nd. Roster size and team makeup would matter, but I have been shopping Kamara on a FFPC BB team and I am taking it.
I would not move in for that on the two FFPC teams I have him but to your point on the bolded they are both contending teams whose major weakness is RB depth. Which is the major reason I got stuck holding him longer then I normally do, needed him. I think I'd pay that for him in at least one league, only I could not do it until after we could expand rosters.

I like him more than that, and the other guy had eight of the first 23 picks in this draft, so I made the above offer, thinking he would counter. He accepted pretty quickly. Of course, now I'm wondering if I should've asked for his 1.08 or 1.09 instead.

A few hours later, the other guy traded my former 2.05 for Mac Jones. So he basically traded the 1.11 for Mac Jones and Okonkwo.

That’s a nice return provided you have a decent TE without him. I think it’s a nice buy on Chig as well.
That said, it’s a little odd to be buying Chig with so many draft picks and what looks like a potentially historic TE class. There’s like 4 TEs who look better than Mayer, and everyone thought he was the slam dunk TE1. Dude could just draft a top TE.
So nice work, if you can afford to deal Chig.
I recently trade for Davante Adams in another league but with this particular team build I shopped him and dealt him.
