I don’t get it. Trading a healthy 2nd year player who was a day 1 starter as a rookie for a late dart throw? It’s Homer Simpson choosing between the boat and the mystery box.

I don't know, seems about right to me.

He only started because they had no one else. He did ok, about on par with how Nico did his first year which I bring up because that's who I comped him to so in that sense it's encouraging but I had him on two teams and cut him at the deadline. Fact he could not earn more targets when it was wide open is a concern and now of course they've added MHJ and have a stud TE so he's going to be down the pecking order.

But past my own opinions in FFPC standard leagues he was cut and redrafted 83 times and on average 35 rookies were drafted over him. I don't know about this league if some existing vets are cut and redrafted but even if none were not a ton of difference between 3.12 and 4.5.

So 4.4 sounds about right to me, chances are I'd have preferred an available rookie myself but can't say for sure unless I was looking at the board.

Of that side I basically look at it as 1.07 + Dionte for the geriatrics.

I do believe DJ has a chance to crack top 10 WR this year, as he should be a target hog. Theilen was fairly washed last year and put up monster numbers for the 1st half of the season.

But as I’ve said, I get the trade. I hope he brings home a ship this year to make it worth it.

You are totally right on Thielen but I'm not nearly that high on Dionte. Dude doesn't work hard for anything. Won't block, doesn't finish routes, and still has a little person throwing him the ball. I do expect Carolina to be better and if Johnson is that good then this trade will definitely look much worse.

FFPC, standard one QB, TEP of course:

Ok at TE, roster space a premium and forecast to be an issue at cuts next year so trying to get ahead of it but this really boils down to not sure how I'll know when to start Schultz as consistency seems like it's going to be an issue because of target comp. He's well paid with obvious outstanding young QB and will have big games but will I know when?

Probably in the minority but I take the DK, RS and Levis side. I think DK has a monster year because their defense is terrible and with a down year last year, DK was still top 20. I would argue he is the best player in the trade.

Texans WRs scare me. I think it'll be boom and bust every week with those guys. Stroud did it without Diggs and don't see him forcing balls to Diggs. I've always liked Aaron Jones but worry he will be in somewhat of a timeshare with Ty Chandler.

Unpopular opinion but I like Levis to break into top 15 FF QB this year.

I think those 3rds need to be seconds, and flipped to the other side of the deal in place of 2025 4th and 5ths. Elijah Moore is worthless.

This is a terrible trade. Admittedly, I am down on Swift personally as I think he is in a terrible spot compared to the Eagles with no other real RBs and a great O-Line last year. Etienne is light years ahead of him as a fantasy asset and Moore is almost a roster clogger IMO. How in the heck did the Etienne side get way better picks too. This would be bad even if they didn't get any picks and the 2 3rds went with Swift. Bad managers are going to make bad trades I guess.

Not sure how....He has a better #1 than Hollywood was last year and MHJ can run all of the routes so will take more coverage in the areas that Wilson will be free. Also, Kyler will be there all year where he got no time to work with him in the offseason and played half of the season with guys like Josh Dobbs and Clayton Tune. Along with a new coaching staff that should be better than what was there before.

I'm not saying he is going to be a monster or anything but I'd say his situation is definitely much better than it was last year. There are other new guys there but over 200 targets are missing from last year in Hollywood, Rondale Moore, and Zach Ertz so there is plenty left over. Along with better QB play & a more competent coach and I'm not sure how you can view it as worse.
 
Yeah, basically that. Had a wide range of outcomes coming out of Stanford, but now looks to have a base of NFL starter, now with an alpha WR opposite that'll draw all the best coverage as well as a much improved TE/QB situation than this time last year.

I honestly don't see how it's not worse but we likely strongly disagree on having better options in the passing game actually helping a player have better stats in the passing game. That whole take has always been way off base to me.

He entered a team last year with Marquise Brown as the top WR on last year of his deal. So if Brown remained or not he's a lower volume type of WR who opens things up.


Now he finds himself with an alpha WR who along with McBrides emergence will dominate targets.


This is fantasy football, not real world efficiency.

12 months ago you had a guy who had a shot at being the #2 in the pecking order with not so crazy chance of emerging as the #1 WR by the 2024 seasons. You don't have that anymore.

If you think the player showed enough that you are higher on him, ok, I don't really see it that way but it's apparent some here do.

But nothing about his situation is better and and with regards to his weekly fill in capability:

Week 1-WR81
Week 2-WR59
Week 3-WR43
Week 4- WR6
Week 5-WR78
Week 6-WR42
Week 7- WR60
Week 8-WR48
Week 10-WR54
Week 15- WR116 and below because he goose egged
Week 16-WR124 and below because again he goose egged
Week 17- WR24
*Week 18-not a recognized fantasy week but he was WR60, was actually his third best game of the year though.

He averaged 54 snaps a game, exactly 80% snaps in the games he played so was a full time player so wanted to remove that excuse.

So buddy, you still got a dart throw if you are putting him in a lineup. He offered two weeks out of 13 last year he was better then WR42. He may be a solid end of roster best ball player who can work his way into giving you a few weeks of use a year, but I don't see a single thing to suggest he's moved past the dart throw phase and has moved into being a viable weekly put in your lineup option.

Nice post. I moved him a few weeks back for 2.11 after drafting him 3.2 last year. Wasn't disappointed in his potential, but I agree with you about it being unlikely he's more than 3rd in the target pecking order behind what SHOULD be 2 elite targets in MHj and McBride.....I also loved the idea of being able to convert him into Burton, Polk or Baker this year.

I mean it's all how you interpret things really. I don't think the addition of Harrison is suddenly going to make Zona a team that's going to be good and let them give Conner 20 carries a game. They're going to need to pass the ball. A lot. There should be enough targets to go around, and it's hard to argue that the quality of targets will be worse than last year. I can see why people would take the opposite side, sure, I just disagree with it

My strategy is to be out a year early on players whose value is high than hold and watch their trade flexibility evaporate. Nabers value is isolated and he's someone I have high hopes for. One step back, two forward!

See if you can snag a vet rb at the trade deadline.....sure, it won't be CMC value, but 3 years from now you will be so glad u did this deal

It seems fair. But I'm higher than most on Walker and Pearsall.

Typically you don't want to trade the best player in start 9 leagues. Waddle is currently the best player.
