I’m on Team B in a landslide in SF. Not that high on TLaw but it’s SF so he’s valuable.
Chase Brown & Cook seem like similar value, and I have concerns about Cook’s contract situation (and the fact that they seem to have no interest in giving him one)
Guys with short shelf lives seem to be Pacheco, Ridley (30), Jonnu (29) with only JSN & Cook of real interest to me outside of redraft.
Meanwhile side B is loaded with youth and upside in Pearsall, Brown, TLaw, Kincaid, Jamo - and how in the hell is the 1.07 going to team B?
This feels lopsided towards team B for me. I’m not sure how this goes down without league members getting outraged.

It’s a massive difference. To the point that TLaw is probably worth either one of JSN or Cook in SF.
Which leaves 1 decent dynasty asset on team A + 3 olds in exchange for Jamo, Brown, Pearsall, Kincaid, and 1.07
That’s just nuts.

That’s a fair trade. I’m on the record as saying Nico’s value is at its apex for dynasty, so hopefully this is a consolidation trade and your roster is stacked and set to contend.

Seems fair. I’m torn on this one - need to mull it over. I have Nico in a 16 team dynasty, and I could use WR depth.
Might take the risk if someone offered me Pickens+Rome

Pickens = 24
Nico = 26, with quite a bit of injury history
I love Nico like the son I never had, and can’t stand rostering knuckleheads like Pickens, but yeah - I’d probably accept this.
Yep, I’m doing that for Nico.
Nico's safer, I'd personally roll the dice with the two other WR's but it's solid either way.

As a Nico shareholder who could use 1 more WR, I’d absolutely consider it. End of the day I’d probably hold, but it would be very tempting.

I had a similar reaction when I saw this. I assume Team B must be super high on JSN, but it seems like a steep price.

Yeah, of course I meant I favored team B’s package (are we still doing phrasing?) not what team B was receiving.
There’s just no way JSN is worthy of that kind of return.
Ok, breaking it down value-wise:
Chase Brown = James Cook (I’d honestly rather have Brown)
TLaw = JSN in SF (or close enough that it would get done in most SF leagues 12 teams & up without protest).
Jamo (24) >>>> Ridley (30) for talent, situation, age
Kincaid (25) > Jonnu (29) for dynasty. Still a lot of room to grow, and at some point the bottom’s gonna drop out from Jonnu. And I’ve been just about the biggest Jonnu honk on this forum.
Pearsall (24) >>> Pacheco (26) in value by about 25%
So team A is already at a profit, and easily so, and they get a 1.07 on top? For what, feels?
It’s Just so lopsided.

If you have Judkins and are sold on Sampson that's a nice deal...you have plenty of time to get those type of picks back.

QB is burrow and te is friermouth. Going for the chip this year.

I'd rather have the players and draft pick of team B. JSN is the best of these players but Ridley,Smith and Pacheco don't do much for me.

Agree, cheap move. If I thought those picks would be mid or later I'd keep the 3.6 unless there was just nobody I liked left on the board (not in this draft classes case, lots of good late dart throws this year.) Need to be a 2nd or I'd need to only be moving back a few spots in the 3rd or something especially since current consensus is next year will be a weaker class (we'll see, but that's what most think right now.)

The guy who traded for Baker Mayfield just traded away his 2026 1st for $30
So this trade now amounts to the 1.13 AND 2026 1st round pick for Baker, Otton and Gesicki
I know it is really hard for anyone here to wrap their minds around these contract leagues I am since money and contracts mean a lot in the context of trades
but since this guy paid $30 to extend Baker from 1 year to 3 years after his trade then he just paid a 2026 1st to get $30 back it is an easy 1 for 1 swap for this trade.
Now the trade seems way more expensive then it should be. Extending Baker 2 years at $30 was a really poor decision in my book and the proof is what other RFA QB's were being bid on in similar leagues.
In another league that has all the same rules except it is 14 teams Baker went for $20 as a RFA and was matched. Purdy went for $14 and was matched.
So this guy could kept Baker for his final year and would still had that $30 banked for the season.
Then next year he could let Baker go to RFA and I am 95% sure he would not go for more than $30 and since you get additional $50 a year he would just matched the RFA bid got him for more years with open contract and still had his first round pick.
Taking Bucky there. I already know he’s good.
Proven and close to 2 years younger, seems like good business to me.

Nico’s best case scenario for his career, IMO, is A.J. Brown. I think they have similar explosiveness and big-play ability.
Nico is 26 and going into his 5th year in the league with all of one WR1 finish under his belt (his PPR12 finish in 2023). Last year he was great on a per game basis but of course injury history is part of the package with Collins and can’t be ignored. He’s missed 3, 7, 2, and 5 games in his first four seasons as a pro.
This time next year, Nico Collins will be 27 years and 2 months old. A.J. Brown is 27 and 11 months old right now. He’s going into his 7th season and has three WR1 finishes, 2 WR2 finishes, and 1 WR three finish (and other than his rookie year, he’s always produced at a WR1 level in a per-game basis, including last year).
A.J. Brown is currently WR14 and 35th overall player on KTC. He’s ranked just ahead of a pair of rookies (Travis Hunter and Tetairoa McMillan) and Tee Higgins who collectively have never had a single WR1 season in their lives.
Nico is currently the WR10 on KTC. In recent days he dropped from WR8 when he was passed by Drake London and Marvin Harrison Jr. Nico currently also has Ladd McConkey and Jaxon Smith-Njigba nipping at his heels in the user-generated dynasty rankings.
Where am I going with this? Thanks for staying with me.
If Nico has another WR1 season in 2025 (a *probability* if he stays healthy), how does he go into 2026 any higher than dynasty WR14? He will be about 9 months younger than AJB is right now but with a far less impressive resume (again even if we assume he’s a WR1 this year) and far more young talent to compete with on his own team (a 2nd and 3rd round WR from 2025 in Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel).
I believe Nico Collins hit his value apex at WR8 as a 25/26 year old and will only lose value as people realize his age/track record don’t support the size investment it takes to land him in either a startup draft or trade. Thus, his value will start to fall (it already has).
I recently took over an orphan that had Nico and dealt him:
Gave: Nico, rookie picks 23 and 26
Got: Jameson Williams, rookie picks 7 and 13

I understand dangling Barkley because he is 28 and his value will never be higher but I'm not a fan of the return here...you need to squeeze out more...Odunze is a nice piece but not what I would want as the main piece for an elite player like Barkley...the 1.8 needs to be higher (especially in this year's draft) or there should be another solid pick added in...Guerendo is a sneaky good add-on but not enough to move the needle when combined with Odunze and 1.8...this is a great move for you and takes your team to another level and you did not have to go deep into your roster to do it...you could turn around and deal Barkley for a much better return right now if you wanted to do...continuing with my "add-on" pet peeve of the off-season in this thread it is not a big deal but why in the world are you getting anything more than Barkley for what you are giving up.

Lamb side! This is well structured “tier down” from the dynast WR1A to the dynasty WR4(?) that brings back enough extra talent to make it worthwhile. As others have pointed out here, Lamb has outscored Chase in 2 of their 4 years in the league together. It’s not crazy to think they could continue flip flopping in the rankings year to year.

Even in a start 1 QB format that seems light.
Personally I'd have made the trade if I was on either side which makes it about as even as I can think.
I think we are entering your 10 in this league and QB's have been hard to trade for much. Teams cut players like Dak, Jordan Love and Richardson and they were not drafted until late round 5 and 6 of the rookie/FA draft. Granted those Qb's are not studs or ever carried Burrow's current value, but at a point they were highly valued with either strong performance or theoritical upside.
The team who got Burrow has Chase and that's as good of a hookup as exists today and Trevor was his QB1 before so easy to see why it works for him and the team who gave up Burrow still has Mahomes and just drafted Justin Fields in the rookie draft and has a soft looking RB group with CMC the only one of any kind of tangible value. So again I'd have done the trade if I was on either of those sides.

If the guy doesn't get a lot of points as a runner I'm just not interested. These guys who are pocket passers, as soon as they have a boring 4200yd, 28 TD season, their value just disappears in an instant.
I get the allure to being "set" at QB but in FFPC essentially everyone is "set" at QB by default. Having Mahomes or Herbert putting up 4000yds and 28 TDs isn't really an advantage and the reality is the circumstances necessary to put up ~4800 yds and 40+ TDs just aren't sticky for longer than a couple of years usually.

Because he is punting this year. He traded away all 6 of those guys I just posted he had that team but did not win the last couple years and has decided to give up and try again with draft picks.
This is where dynasty sucks I am in the league coming in 2nd place the last 2 years (I would won in 2023 but I stupidly forgot Mostert was in my lineup week 17 and took a 0 costing me the championship) but I finished 2nd the last 2 years and I have a great team but won't ever win because deals like this go down every year where a guy punts and trades all his good players to 1 or 2 guys and then they win.
That is the part of dynasty that sucks

I mean the why seems obvious in this one. One guy is rebuilding, one guy is going for it. Yes he probably should've gotten more for the players, but selling aging players, especially in the offseason, you usually have to take below market value. No is excited to trade for any of those guys right now.
