** Official ** Eagles 2008 Thread (1 Viewer)

Incidently, in addition to rooting for Oakland and New York/Houston, if New Orleans finds a way to finish this comeback, they can knock Carolina out of the #2 seed and into the wild card. This would give Philly a much higher draft slot (last years trade w/Carolina). Maybe 6 slots or so.

Looks like that Houston TD spells the end for Chicago. Down 14 with 4 minutes left. Eagles get their first need met. Now, c'mon Oakland and make the Dallas game mean something!

td NO.

And TD Atlanta. The Falcons can steal this division, and move up the draft pick we get considerably.

And Oakland is running it down TB's throats! 2 minutes away from having it all fall together. Dallas vs. Philly for all the marbles.

I'm suddenly very nervous about watching that game.

Wait....I thought the Eagles needed Minny to lose? A Chicago loss was good enough? I know they needed Oakland to win. :excited:
Minny now won the division and we will have a better record than the Bears if we win this game for the final WC spot.

You guys were right, Jeff Garcia is a clutch QB. He really came up big today for the Eagles
Post of the year!! Never understood anyone who preferred Garcia over McNabb. What has he ever won? Look at the talent he took over in San Francisco. He's a decent, average QB. Nothing more, nothing less.

F the Eagles and costing me my suicide poll. Can't even beat the Bengals at home. Eagles won't get past the first week of the playoffs.

WOOT WOOT!

Absolutely ebullient right now, almost makes the massive ups and downs of the season worth it. Now if we beat Minnesota next week, it's ALL GOOD :jawdrop:

wow. i mean wow. f'in unbelievable.

I am here to officially eat all the crow you guys can throw at me. i cannot believe all the right dominoes fell today and then the birds actually played a great game.

I hope i have to eat crow all the way to Tampa and then down broad street. Go ahead McNabb, I still think you are a choke artist, so please prove me wrong.

has to be one of the most embarrassing losses & worst defeats for the cowboys in the history of their rivalry with the eagles?

congrats to the Eagles and their fans. your team earned it. the Cowboys did not show up. :goodposting:

####### pathetic! good luck in the playoffs.

Biggest margin of victory over the Cowboys in the history of the matchup / rivalry.
& truly shocking/stunning given the stakes...i wrote below in cowboys thread & will cross-post here..."it is almost as if the cowboys weren't mentally prepared... it seemed unlikely that TB AND CHI would lose, & perhaps cowboys subconsciously counted their chickens & were assuming they would catch PHI down when they had nothing to play for... or so many thought...conversely, PHI must have gotten a surge of hope from the unexpected development before the game... & they played like it...OTOH, teams should always prepare for an opponents best effort, so perhaps this is way off & baseless (if teams needed a lesson on teams playing with heart despite nothing at stake but pride, look no further than HOU & even more shockingly OAK taking down CHI & TB, which ended up being pivotal in this game)..."

:bye: I too will eat crow, especially on the Garcia pimping. As long as the team that played tonight shows up (verses the one that played last week or the one that tied Cinncinati) we could take this all the way. I hope Mcnabb plays great for four more games, earns a new contract, and makes those of us who mentioned Garcia the laughing stocks of this post.

Let's be perfectly clear about what won this game.1. The defense was fantastic.2. The gameplan was Morhenwhig and run/pass balance. 35-21 run-pass for the game, and before you say that was all in the 2nd half - it was 18-18 at the half.3. Won the turnover battle.4. McNabb threw well. Beautiful throw over the shoulder to DeSean in the second quarter to the red zone.In that order.

5. Weapon X looked like he should be brought back for at least two more years.

I've been screaming it all day here, both subtley, and NOT so subtley....Marty called the plays today, just like he did the last 4 games last year, and against Arizona, NYG, and Cleveland.

AR called the Cincy, Balt, and Washington games....anyone see a pattern here?

I still think AR has done a good job with his GM hat, and a solid overall job as head coach...but he needs to let the O-Coordinator call the game. As long as he stays out of Marty's way and let's him do his job....the Birds have an excellant chance at a nice post-season run here.

McNabb isn't good enough to carry the team....but he's more then good nough to win with!

BRING ON THE VIKINGS!!!!

what about the wild and crazy philly fans? for all the flak they get it's nice to give them some props. also i heard a sideline reporter state that reid credited the run/pass ratio as a key to their success at the half. could this be a sign that he's changing his ways?

Don't worry about eating crow - just ENJOY THE RIDE! Sometimes, things go great, and negativity gets in the way of enjoyment & appreciating what you have.
