Me and the Cow with some old school pwnage tonight. I was 41 - 10 and the Cow was 25 - 4. Unfortunately, we were on the team with the most elite snipers ever (read: their average score was about 7 - 19). Fun times anyway though.

Perhaps I'll finally be able to swipe Vietnam sometime in the new year. My wife's put me on an embargo on buying games at the moment, since I bought the Wii for them along with about 16 games for Christmas. I went about $600 over my Christmas budget. But everyone had a great Christmas! This is how my mother raised me, give the kids the best Christmas you can, even if you have to spend a few months paying for it. To be fair, if I didn't buy another game all year, I'd still have enough to play without playing anything I've played before. That's not counting multiplayer games.

I still have it and will likely play it again. It's a great game. I just wish they had done better with the customization of classes.Also, I see several of Mesmashu's boys playing this all the time. Vlade D, Shades McGavin, and EvilBetty are all on this pretty frequently and they're really fun to play with.

That's my friends list in a nutshell. But you forgot to include the dozen or so watching Netflix. It's either BLOPs, GoW2, or Netflix. I always feel like the oddball (not really) when I start up an XBLA game, NBA Jam or whatever else I feel like playing on the 360 whenever I'm on it.But it's nice to know you can always count on one thing: On XBox Live, Some friends can almost always be playing Halo, Gears, or Call of Duty until a big release comes out and they play that until they're tired of it and then it's back to Halo, Gears or Call of Duty.On PC, some friends can almost always be playing Battlefield, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2 or Classic, WoW or Starcraft until a big release comes out and they play that until they tire of it, then it's back to BF, L4D, TFC, TF2, CS, WoW, SC.On Wii, your friends... your friends don't admit to playing Wii. But everybody's got one so somebody has tn Facebook, some friends can almost always be found playing Farmville, Frontierville, Mafia Wars, and now Cityville and they don't give two ####s about what new game came out unless Zynga stole it.

Can someone send me a Steam invite (Senor_Schmutzig)? I have Left for Dead 2 and may end up buying Steam's version of BFBC2 for $20 if that's what it takes to be able to play Vietnam over Steam.

Anyone know the theory behind that policy?

I thought this was the case as well, but haven't looked it up.

Purchase info re: VietnamSeems to say you can't buy the Steam Vietnam if you have the retail vanilla version.

Finally have BF:Vietnam loaded. Played a few rounds yesterday. A bit disappointed in it, but it's still BF and I'll play it (when I can). It took a few rounds to get back into the groove. I can't remember the last time I played. Only one of the maps I played even seemed to have vehicles except for water craft, and it was a rush map. I hope it was just the server I was on, but sometimes I prefer infantry action. I'm still playing Metroid: Other M, but if I see you guys on I'll see if I can jump in and provide some covering fire.

I really really like Heavy Metal, the new vehicle-based map. It just feels so balanced. Each side has 2 choppers, enough anti-air to keep it in control, as you can drop a chopper in seconds if you are half-way decent. The mix of buildings around each flag make for fun ambush points, as well.

The new winter map is also a lot of fun.

Heavy Metal is very boring, very little action in my opinion. The new winter map is fun. I have found an Atacama server that I love, fast soldier and vehicle respawns so you aren't waiting around forever.

Heavy Metal is very boring, very little action in my opinion. The new winter map is fun. I have found an Atacama server that I love, fast soldier and vehicle respawns so you aren't waiting around forever.

What is the motion sensor and what does it do? Other than detect motion of course...Also, on BF2, you can see a great distance across the maps. In BC2, thats not the case. Is that an option I am missing, or a design "perk"? How the hell do you fly? I tried one chopper and quickly committed suicide as my controls were fracked. Which kit do you prefer? I like the sniper only because I am so lost as assault...Any help or tips you could pass down would be great. Also, which servers are you all hitting up now?Glad to be back though. 1) Motion sensors detect nearby enemies. That's it. You get points though when a teammate kills an enemy in the range of the sensor2) You need to start unlocking scopes to see across the maps.3) Flying takes a lot of practice. I think there's an option to flip the controls which sometimes helps. I'm still terrible at it and don't even attempt it.4) I think the medic kit is a great one to start with. Toss down a lot of health packs to move up quickly and work on revives. You can rack up a tons of points and unlock stuff quickly that way. I also like the LMGs available in the kit. If you do like the recon kit, toss lots of motion mines to assist your teammates and unlock stuff. Tossing them towards objectives is great as it allows you to sweep out an objective more easily. If you're playing Rush, don't worry as much about dying as much. Go with an Assault kit and throw down lots of ammo to rack up pointsAnd no, single player doesn't unlock anything in multiplayer.

I enjoy rolling as Engineer with the G3 now, good for CC and OK at distance if you get used to the iron sights. Have to go iron to have more rockets and explosive power.
