Yep, I liked that server. I like a good rush/conquest mix so it doesn't get stale. Was fun last night. TLef Slax Joe and myself. I'm playing in a little while, will jump on vent if anyone is interested.Saiga has always been my shotty of choice, but yeah, I have been hit from a long way away with it, so there has to be something weird going on.seems like everyone and their mother is using the SAIGA lately.Just got my platinum with the PKM. Fastest I've plat'd a gun yet by a pretty good margin. That thing is a beast.

Are you running Vent as Administrator? Sometimes you have to do that to get things to work. It's in the properties of the shortcut you use to launch Vent, select Run as Administrator.I need a little help troubleshooting my vent connection. It works fine as long as the vent window is on top. Once I go into the game, it doesn't work. Suggestions?
They really could balance choppers/jets better if they allowed Stinger missiles on infantry. The jets always knew where the AA batteries were and so a good team with 2 good pilots would have them always down while they were rapin' errybody.obviously doesn't show much, but i'm psyched that we'll be getting info soonI knew Jets would be back (which i'm not nuts about because i cant fly them)Hopefully they'll be better balanced than they were in Bf2.
Exactly. The only threat to jets were other jets.I know that's mostly the case in real life, but this is a game, so you need balance.Had a 20-1 round last night on oasis (conquest).Type 88 lmg is moneyThey really could balance choppers/jets better if they allowed Stinger missiles on infantry. I wonder if this is only PC side. I remember one of the DICE guys saying once that they may never bring back prone. I hope I don't have to upgrade too much to play it. I don't want to have to get the 360 version. But I also don't want to have to pay an additional $300 to play it either. Also added back is prone. Now, if they can just add LAN support, I will be in for about 8 copies. . .![]()
Not a fan of this growing trend of "buy game A for early access to game B". So, that makes me a better beta tester? Because I bought your other game? Not because I've helped test and submit other bugs in your other games? The big upgrade will be Windows 7 for you. It will not run on XP they have already said.I wonder if this is only PC side. Also, so far the only way they are saying that you can get into the beta is to buy Medal of Honor Limited Edition. Not a fan of this growing trend of "buy game A for early access to game B". I've been meaning to officially make the switch to Win7. I told my wife last night that BF3 might require it. I don't know if it'll run on Vista. If that's the only upgrade, then I'm fine with that, since I need to do it anyway. The big upgrade will be Windows 7 for you. I agree. Should be fine if you can run BC2 OK. Win 7 is a great OS, anyway. I believe it will run on Vista, however.I can't imagine the hardware requirements being that much higher than BC2 and that game ran perfectly fine on medium settings with a 3year old processor and video card. The larger maps and increased destruction for the new engine might be a bit more taxing but I can't imagine it being all that bad.
Unrelated to Battlefield, but did you see my post in the video game thread regarding Magicka? I thought you might be interested in that game.I agree. Should be fine if you can run BC2 OK. There's a new game on Steam called Magicka that looks pretty good. It's a fantasy, dungeon crawler type roleplaying game kind of similar to Diablo. It has 4-player co-op and is only $10. I just saw the review of the game on the Angry Joe Show and I have to say I'm considering buying it. Is anyone on else on Steam interested in trying this in co-op multiplayer?
I don't even visit that thread, to be honest, but I will look at it. Did you get it? If so, I would be in.Unrelated to Battlefield, but did you see my post in the video game thread regarding Magicka? I haven't bought it yet. Was hoping to see if someone else would buy first. (not as in buy first to try it, but go in too) It looks like a game that would be better played co-op. But would likely be fun single player like Torchlight, though.I don't even visit that thread, to be honest, but I will look at it. Did you get it? I keep thinking that these developers are gonna hate killing off PC gaming if there's ever another video game crash like we had in 83. PC gaming and arcades saved it then. Arcades are dead and it seems they are trying to slowly kill pc gaming, but you know we'll (PC gamers) will be the ones to stick around when everyone else has left.Onslaught cancelled for PC so they can work on BF3. And yet, it's not like BF3 is coming just to PC.DICE.
At work, I only have a crap DSL connection. 26%. . .Purchased Download completePurchased. Ante up, SlaX![]()
Just messing around in the single player and it's great. Can't wait to share with others. So who else is gonna join SlaX and I on the Magicka?
Interesting. Last night, I was reading about a new zombie game that's coming out that will be an open-world real-time strategy survival game. Here's the article on Kotaku. Not much is known about it now. The article says that it's XBox Live Arcade, but it sounds like it may be made into a Steam downloadable game too, ala Monday Night Combat.I had a dream last night that the zombie apocalypse was upon us. Freaked me out. Can't tell you how thankful I was to be fully armed, BC2 style. It was a little real, in that I had myself grabbing my own weapons, stocking up on my ammo and blasting the crap out of them. It was a little too real of a video game for my tastes.![]()

I have it on XBox Live. It's really fun. I've already spent 15 on it, so I'll wait for a Steam sale to buy again.MNC got good reviews. Has anyone tried it?Interesting. After I get my mouse driver updated, I'll check and see if it did the same to me. I went outside the building at the party, so I took a few extra steps. I quit outside, though. So I had made it past the first dungeon, then back to the party after the drop. It said checkpoint reached, so I quit, and now it is making me start all over? Seriously? That blows like nobody's business if there is no good save mechanism.
I was trying to see if Razer's new software would automatically choose the macro/button profiles depending on what program was launched. Microsoft's mouse software did this. Apparently Razer's don't.After I get my mouse driver updated, I'll check and see if it did the same to me. I went outside the building at the party, so I took a few extra steps. Every game should allow for binding mouse buttons. I have a 5 button mouse. I want the extra 2 buttons to do something!Anyway. No, it didn't save for my game either.
Not sure what the point of checkpoints are if it's not going to save, unless it's just for the current playthrough in case of death, which is likely.Yeah, I've been watching some PC gameplay videos of this on youtube. I can only play Battlefield on the 360. It looks like the PC version will poop on it the console version yet again. I'm still excited to see what they do though.
As it should. The original Battlefield series is a PC entity. Does anyone else ever post a response in here and have a habit of hitting backspace after submitting the message and then you don't know whether or not you submitted the message or not when you leave your desk and come back? Yeah, as I thought. I'm the only one. I do that sometimes and I wind up accidentally double posting several minutes after the fact and then have to delete the second post. Well, this time, I thought I made this response already, so I didn't submit. I originally had a longer post. Haha, OK. It should be better on PC because PCs have more processing power and nicer graphic cards.. not because of some dumb allegiance to its original platform. I'd love to play it on PC, but I can't afford a graphics card let alone a nice, beefy desktop PC. Or a table to put it on. Or an office chair. Anyway. As it should. I do that all the time. I assume you use Firefox? I don't want to insult your intelligence by asking if you use internet explorer, but I think even Chrome can lose what you leave in a reply box. Usually you can hold Ctrl + Forward arrow if you mistakingly went back a page and want to recover what you had before. If you accidentally delete everything from your reply box, you can usually hit Ctrl + Z to recover it. Most importantly, if you're not sure if you are about to doublepost or not, you can hit the "More Options" button in the quick reply box to preview the post... then look down to see if you've already posted it or not.Does anyone else ever post a response in here and have a habit of hitting backspace after submitting the message and then you don't know whether or not you submitted the message or not when you leave your desk and come back? Do you suffer from short term memory loss? I don't remember.
Thanks for the tip. I do use FireFox, as well as Chrome and IE on occasion, so it depends on what browser I have open at the time. I use them all because I do testing and I have to make sure that certain things work in all browsers.edited in blue. That red text was dreadful to the eyes.Haha, OK. It should be better on PC because PCs have more processing power and nicer graphic cards.. not because of some dumb allegiance to its original platform. It was partially a joke, but partially not. The Bad Company spin off is the console brand. There are things that the original Battlefield series does that I just don't think would work on consoles and that's why it's "dumbed down" for consoles. I don't mind them doing a multiplatform game, but I hate when some of the best elements are taken out just because it doesn't work on consoles. There are just good reasons why some massive multiplayer games don't usually work on consoles. (I'm not referring to the Battlefield series as an MMO in the WoW or Everquest sense, but the original series has always supported up to 64 players. That's massive compared to most shooters.)As it should. The original Battlefield series is a PC entity.Yeah, I've been watching some PC gameplay videos of this on youtube.
