***OFFICIAL*** FFA MLB Draft (1 Viewer)

A big reason for Bonds' OBP was that he's hit in the 3 or 4 spot most of his career.  If he lead off for other power hitters that would be significantly lower.  Henderson got walks because of his eye and his stance... Bonds gets a ton of walks because of his lineup position.
I can't tell you how much I disagree with this.
Speaking only of his last 4 seasons -- Bonds OB% is definitely a product of getting pitched around so much.He obviously has a great batting eye, too (much like Frank Thomas :P )...BTW, all -- it was I who, way back when, compared Frank Thomas's batting eye (read: patience, nice K/BB ratio) to Bonds's batting eye. No further comparisons between the two were implied. It looked like Larryboy took a lot of heat for making the comparison between both men's overall batting ability, but I think my quote may have been a springboard for that..
That isn't the point. Bonds wasn't/isn't pitched around because he bats 3 or 4 in the lineup. He's pitched around because he's a freak of nature. He'd be intentionally walked with the same frequency as if he was leading off.

I like this pick a lot...

Lets get this goin. I have 20 min before I gotta run.. if I need I can send my list but hopefully we can get these quick.

My last two picks:1B **** Allen - this is why you wait on first basemen. 7-time all-star, led league in triples once, HRs twice, OBP twice, slugging 3 times, OPS 4 times, won the 1972 AL MVP, and ranks 20th all-time in Adjusted OPSC Joe Torre - he should resonate with voters since he's the Yankee manager, but that's not why I took him. 9-time all-star, 1971 NL MVP, won a gold glove behind the plate. Has very solid hitting stats for a catcher. Great all-around player and class act. One of the last few catchers I would have been happy with.

He would be in the hall if he didn't stop playing due to drugs, and, quite frankly, drugs are the only reason he is not in the hall today...He was hte best in the league in '84 and '85... you could argue he was the best in '86-'88 and '90, too... all great seasons...It is really unfortunate to see a guy fall like he did, but when he played, he was truly an all-time great, and, if it wasn't for the drugs, he easily would have been a pick in the first 3-5 rounds of this draft...

Since everyone else seems to be posting batting averages, here goes (also with OBP and SB numbers):
