I can confirm this. When once asked why he looked up to the sky when pitching, Fernando said "despite Nipsey's claims to the contrary, Nipsey's #### DOES stink!!!" At the time the reporters didn't know what he meant by that and figured it was just another one of his colorful characteristics, but now it makes sense.When Fernando, I mean mom, would change my diapers he'd do that look up to the sky like he did during his wind-up. Guy knows how to vacuum too.

I'd love to do the draft again, not sure how we should sim it. WIS really left a lot to be desired. 20 game winning streaks, going 1-17 against two teams, not having to use your benches at all...lots of unrealistic stuff that sort of rained on it. Definitely planning on drafting again, but we should find another sim engine.

I've all but locked up worst record among the original 16 draftersI'm gunning for the worst non hijacker record in our Division
I like my offense a lot -- across the board in major team stats (BA, runs, RBI), it's a top 5 unit.But there's something about the way some of you guys are setting your pitchers that I never got. I have two strong modern day relievers (three if you like Dibble at middle relief) and they can't get outs in this thing. But guys like John Wetteland, Rod Beck, and Jeff Reardon are at or near the top of the saves race. These closers are set to only pitch in save situations, right?
Also, my starting pitchers played well below their stats. All have laughably inflated WHIPs. Also -- how are some of you guys getting 10+ complete games out of your pitchers? Do you have them set to never be pulled? Never set their pitch count to any limit?
How did you all handle pitch counts? Set your own, use the computer's recommendations, or not set them at all? Did anyone use AutoRest for any pitchers?
Screw it, the season's almost over -- do tell.

First, Reardon is horrible...the only reasons he's so high in saves is he's had a bunch of chances. He's also blown about 10 games.Second, I have a bunch of guys on "rest: or mop-up" who are horrible. I've basically gone with 7 guys (4 starters and 3 relievers) since mid-season. I really only want guys that have OAV's under .250 pitching or WHIPs under 1.30. A lot of this was luck though. I thought Niekro would be good since he had some dominant years, but I'm still stunned Grimes and Leever have been so dominant.

I went with a five man staff early, but after my number five guy kept getting killed, I moved to a four man rotation, one long relief guy, a righty and lefty setup, and closer. Two mop-up pitchers that have enjoyied a nice season on the bench with 122 total innings pitched between the two of them. You team ERA is 3.87 ... close to a run a game better than mine (4.68). Yeah, I set my guys up that way at first. During an early 11-23 slide, I scaled back the starters pitch counts so that fresh relievers came in more often -- the idea was to have fresh arms pitching as often as possible (a tip from the WIS forums). But then the relievers WHIPs and ERAs ballooned, so I set my lower WHIP starters to stay in the games longer, even if they got rocked a bit, to minimize the struggling relievers' innings.That worked for a good while -- I went on a 27-6 kick, and was four games out. Then, right before the All-Star break, I somehow got swept by the hijacker Bullet Joes (they've owned me all season).
My team never recovered. My starters started giving away runs like candy at Halloween. My relievers were still no good. I went with pitch counts more in line with computer recommendations. Nothing helped. After going 46-32 through the first 78 games, my team has gone 29-38 since.
All this while my team has batted around .297 for the season, and has been top-3 in runs almost all season long. My batting never really flagged.
What's weird is that our division leader, Bellucci's Bombers, has about the same team ERA as me, and has scored significantly fewer runs on the season -- but he is 11 games ahead
Winning and losing close games is big. I've went on some stretches where my average series has say a 10-2 win for me, then a 3-2 and 5-4 loss. some of our teams have 10 30+ to almost 0 scores against dummy teams...some of us have only 1 or 2...
the dummy teams skewed the stats majorly...
