*** OFFICIAL *** FFA WAGERING THREAD - Merry Christmas!!! (3 Viewers)

This is a safe place so I'll post it here. My son competed in martial arts when he was younger and did really well. He is now 20 and boxing.  He puts a 4-0 amateur record on the line Saturday Night against an up and comer who is 5-2 and has a ton of hype around him on Social Media. Because of covid it is PPV only. It is in Columbus OH. I am headed down there from Cleveland on Friday am to be in his corner. (He is a sophomore at Ohio State) So friggin pumped! I really think he beats his opponent fairly handily. Heck,  if he just wins the local hype train will start.  He wants to get to MMA and has been training for that but with covid it is tough to get a bout. Anyway, had to post this here as I wanted to share with my degenerate family.

I wish I could bet on the kid cause I would too!🤣 

Stipe is not my kid but my kid trained at Strongstyle for years before transferring to Ohio State so he has met him, been in workouts with him, etc. (Jessica Eye as well before she moved to LV. She is not a UFC champ but damn does that backside look special in person) I will say everyone there, including Stipe are class acts. The nice, aw shucks personna he has in the media is exactly who he is in person.

StrongStyle has a huge amateur program and you have to get invited to be on their fight team. This actually will be his 1st bout not representing them but their head amateur boxing coach there was instrumental in getting him this fight.  Stipe's striking coach is Alex Cooper(the really tall bearded goofy looking dude). He is a banker by day (go figure). After his 1st 2 wins they made it a point to have Alex in his corner for his last two fights which was just an awesome experience for him. 

I could talk about this all night but Ill shut up now and go look for some winners!

Sounds good to me.

I'm on Toronto -1.5 tonight (sets money on fire) as well and New York Rangers -121 with Shesterkin back in net for them.

The model I follow actually has Colorado -167 as the best play of the night but that seems like a lot against a pretty good (though struggling) Vegas team. I might do a COL/TB parlay or something.

I took Rangers over 6.  Flyers with Hart in goal are on a 9-1 run to the over as of tonight.  And yet he's still rated highly...

I had similar.. Nash ML, Nash PL, Nash/Pens parlay. Also had Pit/Car/Tor parlay which was very dicey but paid off nicely in the end. Rangers ML. Leafs -1.5 was my only that didn't hit.

 
I accidentally clicked a euro tour golfer while trying to scroll to the pga events. I unclicked him but then said god with my luck this guy will win. I knew nothing about him so I put two bucks on him just to avoid the forehead slap if he won.

His name... Daniel Van Tonder. 

Lol. Cant believe how into that playoff I got for a whopping 28 bucks, but man that was awesome. 

Better to be lucky than good.

I stayed away from the Philly over with Hart not in net.

Also went lighter on Boston since Buffalo was not starting that terrible goalie.  I did ML parlay them with Columbus.  Drives me NUTS that Detroit is consistently the last to confirm their goalie.  30 minutes till puck drop and we still don't know for sure.

He lost by decision.  He fought well but the other kid was a little better last night. Thanks for asking. Sucks but it happens. In re-watching it you could make an argument for him but the judges got it right. He lost round 1, won round 2, and lost a very close round 3.  Proud of him regardless .

PS- at least he did not get folded like a lawn chair like my other favorite fighter......
