Took the fam to Angels/Astros Sunday. First mlb game for my wife and son both. Was so fun chatting about how great Trout, Altuve, and the Astros in general are and trying to put that in perspective. Just a fun, relaxed day at the ballpark. Despite the 99 degree heat. Didn’t hurt that I took a flyer on Heaney and had the Halos on the run line either.

I think I'm taking the Astros the entire series. The Rockies are that fringe talent who are a few big wins away from gaining some momentum. Gotta feel like the Astros want to keep the Rockies down. When the Astros go into World Series mode, nobody can beat them.

Rangers pitcher Martin Perez suffered a freak injury on his ranch in Venezuela in December when a bull came charging at him. While attempting to get out of the way, Perez fell awkwardly and broke his elbow, an injury that required surgery. "I killed him and I ate him," Perez told reporters. "It was good meat."

Rangers 36-29 SU in Martin Perez's home starts:
G1/G2: 15-20 SU
G3/G4: 21-9 SU

They have gone 33-23 SU in Perez's starts vs AL West (19-9 SU home).

After last night left-handed starters are now 20-9 SU +$1,360 vs the Angels. Only team more profitable to fade versus lefties has been Toronto (+$1,368).

Both teams have seen the opposing starter. I like Bundy better than Price in that spot. Also - the ESPN crawl is pimping Boston's recent SU record after a loss and I like to fade that kind of stuff. But I mainly like the Orioles getting Price at their house this time; second time seeing him.

Orioles +183
Orioles o3½ +100
Orioles F5 o2 +125
Orioles F5 -½ +200
Orioles F5 +½ +120

Straily performs well versus NL East, but outside the division he falls off.
  • Since he joined the NL Straily's team has gone 24-12 SU in division play (17-3 SU home).
  • As the home dog, Straily's team has gone 16-9 SU and 19-6 O/U since he joined the National League.
  • This season Strasburg 1-4 SU (avg line -170) and 5-0 O/U in G1 of the series with 21 runs allowed in 26 innings.
Marlins +181
Nats/Marlins o8 +115
