*****OFFICIAL FORMULA ONE GRAND PRIX THREAD***** (2 Viewers)

Went in to watch and it turns out I never watched the last four episodes of the 2023 season. The RBR dominance was really something that year.

Otmar and Steiner were good characters; too bad Netflix had to kill them off.

Sorry I screwed up the entrance survey. I meant for question 2d to be for fifth place rather than fourth. It's supposed to ask asking who's going to head the midfield instead of who's finishing last among in the big four.

I've added the fifth place constructor question to the survey.

2*. Who will finish fifth in WCC

If you've already completed the survey, please answer the new question and I'll update the Google Sheet.

My head says Aston Martin, but my heart says Williams. I'm going to go with Williams.

I got a put something.
Some of these I don't 100% believe in but I will reserve the reverse jinx methodology for next year if the orange/papaya team unfortunately prevails this year.

1a Leclerc - do I really believe this? No lol
1b Norris
1c Verstappen

2a Ferrari - yeah this won't actually happen either but...
2b McLaren
2c Red Bull
2d Mercedes
2* aka 5th Williams
2e aka last Steak and Shake Kick Rama Lama Ding Dong Sauber

3a 6 winners
3b 3-way tie Leclerc/Verstappen/Norris
3c 5 wins apiece
3d yes - a sprint

4a Leclerc (see above)
4b Sainz
4c Lawson
4d Hadjar almost by default

5a I will give you two:
Sainz gets 3 podiums
Alpine only fields one car in the last race of the season as they run out of Renault power units

5b not really bold to say Red Bull will fire somebody but I will say Yuki finally gets the red bull seat for 2026. And then is fired for 2027.

So there you go

It's time again for my annual Formula 2 recruiting post. It's a very strange championship because the real objective is to climb the ladder to F1 instead of winning the title. Drivers returning for a second or third year have a big advantage due to their knowledge of the car and especially the Pirellis. F1 teams know this and discount their results accordingly, perhaps by too much but they know better than I do. Non-rookie F2 champs like Felipe Drugovich, Theo Porchaire and Nick de Vries rarely get a good shot at F1 which is makes me sad.

This years favorites are returnees Victor Martins, Joshua Dirksen and American Jak Crawford but the drivers to watch in terms of future F1 seats are Red Bull's Arvid Lindblad, Williams' Luke Browning, Ferrari's Dino Beganovic and Alpine's Gabriele Mini. Leo Fornaroli is coming off a F3 championship where he didn't win a single race and isn't viewed as a hot prospect.

I'm rooting for Prema's Sebastian Montoya whose dad is one of my all-time favorites. I have a picture somewhere taken with him at the 2000 USGP the week he signed with Williams-BMW. Oh how time flies.

I've updated the predictions sheet. Feel free to post updates either here or there.

The only thing we all agreed on is Sauber for last which probably means it will be Haas, RB or Alpine instead.
