***Official Game Thread*** - New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts (1 Viewer)

The Jets have announced their inactives for today's AFC Championship showdown against the Colts: QB Kevin O'Connell, RB Chauncey Washington, LB Kenwin Cummings, G Matt Slauson, DE Ropati Pitoitua, RB Danny Woodhead and DT Howard Green while Erik Ainge is the third QB. Donald Strickland, Shaun Ellis and Kerry Rhodes all active.

just watched a live interview with marlin jackson on the field (local network)..says the team is loose..says caldwell told him he thought the score would be 23-13..he predicted 23-9..and said if wayne has a good game he 'guarantees' a victory

I'm expecting the unexpected early. I think the Jets go up top early to either Braylon Edwards or Dustin Keller or maybe even once each. If they hit on one of those, that could make for quite an interesting afternoon.

My prediction, FWIW:

Jets 20

Colts 17

Clowney is active. :excited:

I'll go with 23-10 Colts (the same score the Jets lose their AFC title game by). The Jets do a good job of holding the Colts offense to mostly FGs, and the game is close throughout, but a late Jets turnover leads to the Colts putting the game away.

This would be similar to what the Steelers did 4 years ago, going over the top to Heath Miller early and surprising the Colts. The Steelers opened it iup and took a big lead. But I don't think the Colts will be unprepared for that this time, so I think they win 23-10

I was hoping that I would wake up and see where the Jets had cut Braylon Edwards' useless ### so that I could root for them. Oh well, let's go Colts.

Indy Inactives:

CB Jerraud Powers (rookie Jacob Lacey starts)

K Adam Vinatieri

OT Michael Toudouze

WR Samuel Giguere

TE Colin Cloherty

OL Mike Pollak

DE Ervin Baldwin

DT Fili Moala

The thin depth chart at CB is another reason that the Jets may test them deep early.

i think its going to be a long afternoon for the jets. the colts will ratlle sanchez.

colts-27

jets--13

On January 12, 1969 I sat and watched the Jets play the Colts in the Super Bowl.

On January 21, 2010... 41 years later... I'm about to sit and watch the Jets play the Colts.

It CAN'T be 41 years! Life just goes by way too fast.

Now I'm depressed.

Just y perceptions, but Sanchez looked scared ####less.
Yeah, people have commented on that. That's how he has looked before every game. I agree it's not a confidence-inspiring face, but it hasn't seemed to make a difference on the field. People have bad-mouthed his body language most of the year.

To me, it doesn't seem like the same Colts. The 1969-70 Colts...well they came from a city of crab cakes and the Potomic River.

These Colts...well they seem like they just play up the road from me (about 120 miles).

Well gentlemen, I know it'll be tough, but try to manage this thread without me.

I'm off to my brother's to watch the rest of today's football.

**If you cook stuff, they will come**
