Official Game Thread W1 - Kansas City@Denver (1 Viewer)

This game is already tainted by a blown call on the 2nd play of the game. Kennison clearly wasn't down and for the refs to call him down by contact was an awful and absurd call. What to screw up a game in the first minute.

I haven't heard Summeral do a pre-season game this year. But, the guy just sounds slow in the way people become when they get older.Priest Holmes should have a TD in a minute or two.

very bad call. made worse by theisman and his comments!Great play by KC though

Agreed, but what's done is done. Not too pleased with third down defense so far ....

Looks like I'm losing this week... I'm playing against Priest right now and I'm starting Quentin Griffin :loco:

An absolutely horrible call - refs ought to be fined when they blow it that bad.

Wow, Shanny puts Bailey in on offense early and he gets an 11 yd. catch on 3rd and 12. Who'd have thunk Shanny would be tricky? By the way, are you as annoyed of the constant playing and re-playing of the Madden/Brady Sirius commercial as I am?

I think the refs have money on the Chiefs. Griffin just got drilled out of bounds after running for 5 YARDS OUT OF BOUNDS and there was no call. This is terrible.

Official blown calls tally:1) Kennison "down by contact". 2) Bailey out of bounds before he dove.3) Flagrant late hit on Quentin Griffin not called.4) Unnecessary roughness (throwing the quarterback to the ground) not called on Vonnie Holliday. They're gonna need an armed escort to get the team of officials out of the stadium if this keeps up. :no:BTW, I hate the Chiefs & Broncos equally. I just hate to see horrible officiating even more.

Indeed.

Joe T needs to shut up about Hall and how he won the game last year on a "great return."Yet another call the refs blew...I don't want to hear about it.Yes, I'm a homer, but I try to be objective.

This is the worst broadcasting team, ever.

And losing 23 yards on a sack won't exactly help the ol' net passing numbers, Mr. Green. :yucky:

Agreed. McGuire is a waste of carbon, Joey T is a moron and wtf with Summerall? You would think that ESPN could recognize this.

Having to listen to them fill time is painful. Yes I realize this is obvious.

Griffin just disappears in traffic, doesn't he? How can you tackle what you can't find?

Plummer is looking surprisingly good tonight. On the roll-out, he found a seam and just dove forward. Good patience on the TD pass to Q making the defenseman commit before throwing it.

Good to see the Denver D playing so well. The test will be whether they can keep doing it.Very good defense on back-to-back plays by Herndon and Bailey.Rod looks good bringing the punts back, but I don't like it...

Not new news but Priest Holmes is just sick...automatic 5 yards a carry
As Emmit Smith before him. Playing behind the best line in football makes you look pretty good when you are at full steam in the defensive backfield before being touched.

"All it takes is a crack for Priest, and he's in it."NTTAWWT :rotflmao:
That moment was classic but nothing takes the cake like Madden's explaination of Ricky Williams liking to run it up the (A)-HOLE when he sees an opening. He went on about running it up the (A)-HOLE for about 5 minutes. I couln't stop laughing. Actually typing it up now has me cracking up again.I couldn't believe that he didn't catch what he was saying...anyway he now refers to it as the A-Gap...pretty classic madden.BOOM RIGHT UP THE (A)-HOLE

As this game settles ino a flow, a couple of things that I think are worth noting:1. Kennison has been targeted twice on deep balls.2. The Denver D seems to be holding up pretty well agains KC; although I do think they need to get more pressure on Green.3. Champ is making his presence felt onboth sides of the ball.4. Not having watched Denver in preseason their offense seems to be finding ways to get Griffin involved in the offense.Anyone else see anything worth noting?

Quentin Griffin is playing a lot bigger than 5'7" right now.Great moves & acceleration to turn the corner on that TD run.

"The only guy Plummer's throwing the ball to is Smith" RECEIVING REC YDS TD LG R. Smith 4 40 0 14 D. Watts 1 22 0 22 C. Bailey 1 11 0 11 G. Hearst 1 5 0 5 A. Lelie 1 4 0 4 Q. Griffin 1 1 1 1 Nice run by Q...another TD.I'm torn. Playing against him in two leagues and if he scores another, I'll likely lose. But loving it as a Bronco fan. This may be my worst opening weekend in FF ever.Good downfield block by Lelie to pave the way for Q. Nice to see him contributing.

Hey, I know Theismann can often be brutal. But you know that he was talking about Plummer only really having 1 reliable receiver, not that he's locking into one guy. Cut him some slack. :)

Worth noting...IMOShanny is giving Jake a lot of opportunities to roll out which means he will pick up more rush yards than expected and perhaps allow him to get ball down field to his recievers as they will have some extra time to let the plays develop.

Feeling much better now about starting Griffin over Taylor...Gotta love seeing him turn the corner...I'm not a R. Smith owner, but boy it's scary that they're using their #1 WR on PR...

Rod Smith needs to hold on to the ball - he fumbled the punt and then fumbled the ball out of bounds after a catch and run. This just in - McGuire is an #####

Rod Smith needs to be off punts period - the position would be perfect for Lelie, however. Lord knows we don't need him to save wind for every down action.Geez. My worst day in history and Trent Green can't even hang a decent number ....ridiculous.This keeps up, I'll be setting up a 900 service. You call me, I tell you what studs I'm playing in my leagues, and you avoid 'em. Bloody foolproof so far. Only 2.99 a minute.
