I really wish you could replay random events, instead of just being deposited at the hospital minus money. I encounter a kidnapping, kill the lost guys, then get capped and die. I save a guy who had pipes fall on him from burning alive, the guy yells for me to get out of their because it's going to explode, and as soon as I hit "Y" I die anyway. Maybe the armored car stuff I get, but basically, if you don't have on body armor at all times, you're screwed.

I feel like I am missing something though. I don't know if the game is just too big or what, but I find myself just doing the main and side missions instead of exploring because just driving around gets boring and there's lots of highways.

I enjoy ramming cars until one becomes hostile and fights back. Then just keep ramming it over and over and finally murder the driver. Also enjoy going down to Grove Street to start trouble with the gangbangers. Very difficult to get out of there alive.

Just got to 100% complete taking 89hrs 20minutes per the social club website. Not sure what to do now. Go to online or start over, I got a 8% complete save waiting.

go to the top of the mountain and see what is there now? Where the writing was that said to return when complete.

I've been playing online just as much as the story (maybe more). At some point, you randomly get $500k and I was working my way down to $100k just shopping at Ammu-nation (lol). However, one night before I'm about to log off, someone (another user) sends me $111mil. I'm positive this was from another player, bc that same name logged off a few minutes later; and after he posted a $239mil bounty on someone. WTF happened here? I'll take it, and I did and bought some expensive cars and property.

It took me reading half of page 43 to answer my concerns, but I'll ask anyway.

My ex wife bought my 10 year old son this game for Christmas. I have never played it, but I always thought in my mind that it was all criminal activity, strip clubs, gangs, prostitution, etc....

Am I correct? He shouldn't play it, right? It's a whole different type of "Rated M" than a Call of Duty type game, right?

I'm not happy about it.

That link answers your questions. Short answer: money hacking is rampant in GTA. The "hackers" have been handing out their ill begotten gains in order to:

A) Screw up the economy

B) Cover their tracks

One of the flags that Rockstar has said they are looking for is people with obscene amounts of money. If the "hackers" give out a lot of money to legitimate players, Rockstar can't just ban everyone that has 100+ Million.

There's a real story, and it's a beautiful game. But yeah, I dont think I would let a 10 yo play it.

No way I would let a ten year old play it.

One of the main characters that you play as is a meth dealer. There are a TON of VERY sexual scenes in the game. There is a scene where you torture someone. It's an incredibly violent game.

It's an awesome game, but I wouldn't let a kid that age come anywhere near it.

That's what I thought, thanks for the confirmation!

Except you can look at a players stats and see how they earned their money. Maybe the hackers are making it so their created-from-thin-air money shows up as "received from other players" too though... but I've also seen it were they play a mission and get crazy amounts of cash/XP.

It sucks because it's more money than anyone can possibly spend.

Just go to the strip club VIP room , she will gladly let him play

So once you find scuba gear, does it automatically work anytime you go under water, or only when you exit specific vehicles?
The latter in my experience.
How are you supposed to know which sea vehicles have scuba gear?
The sub and the boat you get as part of the submarine parts quest were the only ones I ran into.
I see. Apparently there is one with a black dingy boat in the south pier near the airport as well.

If anyone is in an active PS3 adult crew, I'd love in invite.

I'm sick of randomly being stuck with kids screaming in their headsets.

I already have a crew, but my guys don't play online much...and I think we can be in multiple:

I'm HalColdvice on PS3

So, can I give out money to others? LOL, anyone want some?
No... the way we share money in my crew is by stealing cars and souping them up and giving them to people to sell. A car you put 300k or so into sells for 100k
So how can these hackers send me money and I can't send it to anyone?

I got another large sum, like $130mil the other night and I just shut off the PS3. This was about 30 seconds after I was standing next to a player firing at him and he was essentially bullet proof. Figured that he found a hack for that too.

So, I beat the main story. Then I went and did all the assassination missions and invested properly. So all 3 dudes have about $1.5B. I guess I will go buy all the properties now. I'm at 80%. It says I haven't done a bunch of activities, but I'm not sure what I missed.

Also, can you find the UFO and letter pieces with a combination of all 3 characters, or do you have to do it with a specific person or the person you found the first piece with?

Letters is a combo, not sure about the UFO but as I recall, its a combo too. Do you have online? If so, I'd flop over to this. I was hesitant, as I want the 100% in game mode, but I went to online a few months ago and have never been back. They fixed the money thing and time outs and lags have happened way less frequently. Is there still a FBGs crew on XBOX?

There are a lot of checklists online but if you go to Rock Star's website and create a social club account their checklist will show you exactly what you have left.

At one point towards the end of the game the internet stopped working for me. Apparently this is a known bug that they haven't been able to fix. It was really annoying as I saved all of the assassination missions until the very end and I wasn't able to take advantage of the stock market when I completed them.

Been playing it for a couple of weeks, and it's a blast.

Really only frustrating thing is if you're in a gun battle and there's a guy next to you, there are times where the L3 "aimer" puts the red X on a guy 50 yards away instead of the immediate threat.

Challenge accepted!

Funny was just thinking of this thread last night as I finished the main story for the second time and got my gold money in my account. Next up is the assassination stuff. And then I'm going on a tennis tour to get that out of the way. Still a solid game from start to finish.

I stopped online because I kept having too many timeouts. Maybe I'll get back on. There is a crew, its mentioned in the thread earlier. Or start a new one.

So I finally finished the storyline.

Anyone NOT choose the deathwish third way? What happens? A bigger cut of the loot and the dead character is no longer playable?

I believe you can go back and play options A and B later after you've finished. Not missing much though, all of the "meat" is in Option C.

Will it change the way the game is played, post-story?

Just wondering. Because if so, then I'll wait until I do a second run through. I was going to do that anyway so I can save the assassinations for last, etc.

Nope. It's a "replay mission" option.

I finished a full second time around the main story about a month ago and saved the assassination missions for money making purposes. Did them and everyone had about a billion dollars so I spent a few hours going around and buying everything in site. All properties owned. Every garage full of top of the line cars. Airfields and marinas filled. And the international hangar has itself some nice toys.

I think I have like one more freeks and friends mission to find, and a ton of recreational type stuff like tennis to do. But I have to admit that as much fun as I was having with the game, after buying everything it really did hit me how almost uselss owning properties and money in general is to the game. It's rather anticlimactic and unfun that the best way to do it is after you finish the main story. It was still an awesome game though. I just don't know if I am going to be doing a 3rd trip around or spending a ton of time post story looking around.

For all the advancements in graphics, sound, directors producers and everything else since, they still haven't come close to beating Vice City in terms of overall playability, story line and interconnecting all the side stuff you can do to make the experience better.

Timely bump. The PC version comes out later this month and as usual, it should be the definitive version of the game. Already played and beat it on PS3 and I cant remember the last time I was this excited to replay a game.

posted in another thread, but I can't get the hang of driving, aiming and firing down at all. can't even make it through Michael's first mission. I'm even having a hard time getting by his first ? mission with aliens. obviously I'm not a gamer, but is there a way to set these things up where they auto find the target or does it have to be manually done?
