***Official***GTA V thread... (1 Viewer)

My company has an employee purchase agreement with Sony and they have some decent deals on games. I'm not much of a gamer but liked GTA5 and would like something with similar mechanics (no 1st person shooters). Also love the car racing games. Not much into the online thing and don't own a headset. Whatcha got?
I tend to stick to sports games, GTA, and games that I think might be similar to GTA. So take the following for what it's worth as I'm far from an expert.

The Saints Row games are pretty fun. I haven't played the newest one, which seems to go way over the top (not necessarily a bad thing), but 2 and 3 were a lot of fun. I thought they were GTA with a little more cartoonism thrown in.

The Uncharted series of games are just awesome, but not exactly GTA style. They're 3rd person, but they aren't open world, sandbox type games.

The Batman Arkham games are similar and a lot of fun.

Lastly, the Infamous games are pretty cool. Open world, first person style.

I would 2nd the Saints Row nod. The third one was brilliant. And without it, I probably wouldn't have come back to the GTA series.

Awesome, thanks. Turns out it's a ripoff because Amazon has these titles cheaper than the supposed employee price, but I'm going to keep these in mind.

I'm like nervous to even do missions because I want the game to last forever. I just did one running thing since getting Michael and one race with Franklin (and all the available tow truck missions). I just keep driving hoping to find trouble. I have a few times. Game is pretty gorgeous. Maybe tonight I start some missions again. I may use the blimp though to open up some of the map way up north instead.

i have a question... i had a stolen car in my garage.

i took that to the autoshop and spent tons on it. if fast super fast and super strong.....

i took it to a mission and its now gone....not in my garage either... whats the point of fixing mt car up if i can only use it sparingly
You put a tracker and auto insurance on it too?
I don't know if this schtick or not
Its real for online. For offline, you just wasted money. Offline, only upgrade their default vehicles.
crap, thanks... what is this blimp people talk about

Red dead was awesome. I'm still loving this one although I've found that I don't love the radio stations and some of the missions really suck. But I'm still playing and enjoying.

Red dead... Wild West right before turn off century. Old outlaw forced to work for government to hunt down his old gang. Empire strikes back type ending. Solid game play throughout. No weaknesses to game at all and if you love the world it really isa play forever game.

And so much more. I might have to rebuy this again too. Maybe Xbox gold will give it for free?

This is part of why GTA5 was so disappointing. I had the exact same thing happen to me, only twice because I didn't learn my lesson the first time. Even after playing through the story and earning millions of dollars, each character was stuck driving the same POS car he had at the very beginning.

You can trick they out though, right?

Sure. But I don't want to trick out Michael's Accord. I want to drive around a tricked out Infernus.

I get that for gameplay purposes the game is sometimes going to force me to use a different vehicle on missions, but my customized car should be waiting for me back in my garage. Saints Row let me have whatever customized vehicle I could find. Hell, I could drive a flying motorcycle around any time I wanted to in that game. GTA just goes out of its way to prevent me from having fun.

Once you trick them out, they are pretty solid. Maybe not the fastest cars in the game, but it's definitely worth spending $50k or whatever per car early on to get them fully upgraded (because you'll be using them so much).

I feel like I screwed up. I just did the life invader phone bomb. I heard Lester say something about an exchange but got no money. I got his email with a link to the market, but who I supposed to invest in here? Or do I wait for the stock to bottom and then buy it?

I also witnessed a kidnapping in vine wood hills, but died in pursuit of the van. There was no option to replay and when I went back, it didn't respawn. Did I miss out?

I definitely didn't get paid after killing the lifehscker guy. I haven't seen this anywhere. Did I screw up or was there no money because Lester is setting up the heist?

you are fine keep going...side question... is the % complete all missions or the main mission

So I reached

The decision. I assume everyone picks C but I really want to pick A just to see what happens
Thoughts?

You have to put all the money in the stock BEFORE starting the mission.

Talk to Lester

Figure out which stock to pour money into

Fail mission

Put all money into said stock

Restart and complete mission

Rake in dough

So do you guys just buy all the properties you can when they pop up and you have the cash? Will future heists, missions, jobs, brief cases get your bank balance back up quickly?

i didnt really bother wlith the money too much and didbt really struggle. once the one guy says he paid me in stock options i cashed and from there was smooth sailing.

i said i was going to complete all the missions and about half way through i said screw it and just did the main ones

Why do you have to fail he mission? Can't you buy the stock after he tells you which company is going to be impacted?

so i can got back and finish the other stuff?

i just finished... i want to hit all the jumps and do the side missions...

tripping missions lol

You can go back and play missions A and B after you've completed the game. They are

fairly brief and nowhere near as challenging
how do i do that go back to a save point? They'll be on the list of replayable missions.

cool thanks.

I really enjoyed this iteration of GTA....

Anyone know the MISC missions are? I completed 4/16 - I do know I still am looking for some bail skipper, no idea where he is and I lost the email - lol

You do not have to fail the mission. Look up the Lester missions guide on IGN and just buy the right stocks before talking to him and starting the mission. This is what I did and it worked fine.

I would love a dlc of just heist missions for SP. They are the best part of the game. The planning aspects and picking a crew and replaying them differently to see how different crew work. Tons of fun. I am going through my second game in SP and just got to the dirty cop bank heist planning stage. Just a fun aspect of the game and something to build on I think going forward in the franchise. Much more fun than silly missions and ridiculous super man missions that all the GTA games have.

GTA 6 needs to be almost all heist type missions. I don't need 40 side missions that are fun and cute but really don't mean anything. Instead, give me 10 main story line heist type stuff which all need different amounts of planning and side missions to complete - make those the funny ones. Like I have to steal a specific car to do the heist - so when I steal it make that the funny "side" mission that always take up so much room int he game.

Eh, just a thought. Still enjoying the game overall.
