I haven't I wned a PRS, but I've never had a problem hardtailing the bridge on my guitars with trems.
What do you mean by hardtailing?
Replacing the floating/tremolo bridge with a fixed bridge.
Yeah, don't even have to replace the bridge technically. What you do is loosen the trem springs and then place a piece of wood behind the metal bridge block. The string tension will keep the bridge stationary against the wood wedge, thus fixing the bridge. It's really easy.

My view on tremolos is this - if you use tremolo when you play, great. If you don't, hard-tail it. Having a floating bridge makes tuning significantly more difficult and there's no reason to complicate things for yourself if you're never going to use the tremolo anyway.
