From the website...Mr. Linderman is a "businessman" with apparent mafia connections who has made unscrupulous business deals with some of the main characters, usually from off-screen. Nathan Petrelli was in the process of contacting Linderman during "Genesis". Later in the episode, Linderman sends two thugs to Niki Sanders' home to collect on a money loan, which she cannot repay. When the thugs are killed, he sends a corrupt police officer retrieve her in "One Giant Leap". In "Collision", one of Linderman's subordinates gives Niki the opportunity to repay her debt by helping to blackmail Nathan, and she eventually complies. Nathan, however, realizes that Linderman needs him to win the congressional seat he is running for if Linderman was willing to set up such elaborate entrapment, and uses this to his advantage. Working out a deal through Linderman's associate, he persuades her to "donate" $4 million to his campaign (rather than the originally agreed $2 million) and suppress the tape. Linderman makes his first on-screen appearance in "Better Halves", when he playes poker with Ando, the man who accused Ando of cheating, and another man, while Hiro secretly helps Ando to win. When Hiro and Ando go to the washroom, they hear gunshots and yelling from the three men before escaping out the window. The next day, Niki and D.L. walk into Linderman's house and find all three men dead.

I think DL grabs Niki by the heart. They made her look dead, but it is obviously just another shock ending.
Glasses dude obviously keeps secrets from those he works with, since the neighbour did not understand the implication of "Save the Cheerleader". Claire may be suspicious of her dad, but she has no idea of anything else that has been going on in Heroes so she won't know what he has been up to.
I think Simone is cleared of being mixed up with Glasses dude, if she was they would probably have brought Isaac in sooner.

It looked like the basement of an industrial building. Also, I was under the impression that Linderman owned (or has a share of) the Vegas casino that Nathan and Niki were in. He seems like a very wealthy man and wouldn't be involved in a backroom poker game.

Not sure if that was a leap, but why would Linderman, who seems to be running a hotel, etc., be playing cards with low-lifes and not have a crew with him? We already saw the asian lady and her body guards and she works for Linderman. Until the show says so, I certainly don't believe one of the guys playing cards was Linderman.
I forgot about that part. I think it is very significant that Claire's dad heard that phrase. He definitely knows "the cheerleader" is Claire. I don't know if Claire's dad knows about the NYC destruction yet, but he might once the neighbor goes into Isaac's place.

I gotta see the 2nd episode again...
In the second episode Hiro rushes through the streets of New York, happily greeting people because he successfully teleported himself. He finds a comic book called 9th Wonders! that shows him standing in Times Square with his hands up and yelling, "I did it!" (this time, transcribed into English), which happened just moments earlier. After buying the comic book with Japanese currency, he discovers that its writer and artist is Isaac Mendez.
Hiro goes looking for Isaac at the address listed on the comic book, and finding the apartment door open. He steps in and looks around calling out Isaac's name. Glancing at a table in the room, he notices a comic book page on Isaac's drawing table, depicting future events. Looking up, he sees a trail of blood and becomes nervous. The blood leads to a gun, which he picks up to defend himself if someone was still in the house. A few steps later, he sees the corpse of Isaac on the floor with the top of his head sawed off and the brain nowhere in sight.
A police squad arrives and arrests him. As he is being questioned at the murder scene, Hiro discovers he not only teleported himself to New York, but he also sent himself forward in time five weeks, from October 2 to November 8. He witnesses the giant explosion that Isaac had predicted in a painting, but before the blast hits him, Hiro teleports himself back to the train in Tokyo, back in the 'present' time frame.

The phrase doesn't mean squat. He clearly recognizes that a reference to a cheerleader when he has a mutant cheerleader daughter is significant.

One thing I was wondering about with the whole Claire cough as a baby thing. Most of the other heroes are all about the same age, last twenties, early thirties. Claire (and possibly Micah) is the only one we've seen that is younger, the next generation. I wonder if this is significant?
I could see HRG as part of an entity that is keeping tabs on the heroes and gathering as much data on them as possible and it has been doing it for some time. With this data, they attempted to make a hero of their own --- Claire. Claire had a cough as a baby, something that shouldn't be possible with her powers (though we don't have concrete evidence she can't become mildly ill but I doubt she can). Maybe the entity, call them the "Helix Coroporation", took a genetically unwell baby and attempted to alter her DNA either to cure the genetic condition or to create a hero and Claire is the result. Micah could be a hero naturally because both of his parents were.
I could also see a scenario where HRG did this in a rogue fashion since the other agent didn't know about Claire. He seems like he'd be inclined to use whatever he had to meet his own needs after using Blank man on the quarterback. Maybe the child he adopted was sick and so he did it on his own. Alternately he could've adopted her because he'd been on the trial of her parents, both probably heroes, and something happened where they abdandoned her so he took her in to watch her. This could lead to the eventual conclusion of Sylar being her father which I really hope we don't see. Interested to see how it plays out.

I'm just catching up with the thread, so I'm not sure if anyone else has said this.I think that he has a limit to how much he can use his powers. We saw him get woozy after stopping time (presumably many times) during the card game. Perhaps when they were in the bathroom, he was too tired to do it again.Any ideas on why Hiro wasn't able to stop time while he and Ando were in hiding in the bathroom?Maybe he can't use his powers around other "special" people??!?

I forgot to reply to this but I agree. Not sure why, and too lazy to find my previous post, but I think when we first heard of Linderman I thought of Sylar. The connection to Nathan's dad, who we found out from the mom in her discussion with Peter that his dad had the same weird feelings as Peter (which explains how Peter and Nathan are both special). If Linderman knew Nathan's dad and he seems to be a key player in the show who we haven't seen yet, then it seems like he could be in on knowing that the Hero gene exists. Also, we know that Sylar had to be among the first folks that the professor was in contact with, so it makes me think that he is a first generation special, like Nathan's dad. I am assuming that Linderman is an older guy and not a twenty-something-ish like the folks just discovering their powers.
I may have already been proven wrong, although I wasn't sure, but the announcer voice was timed eerily with the whole "survive or perish" and we saw DL survive.By the way, not just for wheelhouse, but for anyone posting future episode information and potential spoilers, please put the info in white text inside of a quote to hide it from view. Usually for upcoming episode info, someone will post it unhidden, but do it the day of the show. TIA.
Only odd note is that there is a "Rest of cast listed alphabetically" line right above the Sylar mention. Almost like the folks below that line are possibly not in that episode but part of the cast. It lists Zack (Claire's brother?) and Ando as well, so one of those was in it and one not in it. Also, the cast list looks the same for every episode I looked at, so it might not really even be who was actually in that episode.IMDb is definitely not that reliable, but usually mistakes like this with incorrect characters were cleaned up quickly, i.e. with Lost and listing Kelvin as MC Gainey. It was gone the next day. This one has lingered a bit and he is a big enough actor that it is probably true, hard to keep information like that secret. Just because it looks like Simone isn't working with HRG does not clear her as being an evil character. I still think we see bad things out of her, perhaps she's the one that scars Peter?

Then neighbor chick goes to Isaac's apartment (Peter is not there) and tells Isaac she is a big fan. You probably saw the conversation with Claire's dad that talked about going to see Isaac. Next they show Nikki on the floor and the announcer is talking about evolution and surviving or perishing. That and the fact that Nikki is not in next week's preview gave me the feeling that maybe she is dead.The preview is kind of all over the place. They show Mohinder holding a Schlage key (sorry but I know the brand of the key), then they show a couple splices, someone holding a photo, the image of the symbol that Isaac rubbed off the top layer of paint, Micah sitting there, a severely burned body getting examined, Peter talking to someone and then a big reveal that the secret is out. They show Nathan saying "what if people knew what we could do" and then show Claire's brother seeing her heal and her telling him not to say anything. After that, they show Hiro and buddy meeting DL and Micah and all of them attempting to save someone from a bad accident on the highway.Hope that helps!anyone?

I was wondering if they adopted her and her dad notices the healing ability (she fell off the changing table or something) and that started him researching/trying to find the others. He probably works/worked for an agency that would have the resources to dig into this stuff.

You've got to figure Peter is going to get his scar soon. I'm guessing it comes from Simone, although they might leave her as a "surprise" bad guy for later. Outside chance he gets it from Sylar.

I'm guessing he gets it when they save Claire. He'll get just enough of her healing power to leave a scar, but not enough to heal whatever wound he gets completely.

I've been thinking about future Hiro and how different he is. I think he's been constantly traveling back in time to figure out what needs to be done to stop the explosion. Each time he tries something different to see if that works. Kinda like Groundhog Day. He's probably done a hundred times. Each time learning more and more about what happens and what needs to be done to stop it. He figures out that he needs Peters powers to do that. I guess what I'm saying is that It's not Hiro from years in the future, but he's been stopping time and going back for years. Poor guy. My brain hurts.
