Another reason Hillary is bad for America, even if she were honest...  We are in a major state of decline. When you travel outside of the U.S., many parts of the world have caught up, and many have passed us right by.  We ought not to be content with maintaining a status quo and protecting wealth of those who already have it.  As wealth transitions from West to East and technology commoditizes the heart of the U.S. Economy (knowledge worker), the results of Clinton status quo politics will be more degradation and erosion of the Middle Class.  Things may get dire -- though Clintons really won't give a ####, because they'll further distance themselves from the herd of fellow millionaires, which is all they care about.

4 or 8 years of treading water in terms of what matters: education, technology, trade...  And we're just an also ran county.
These type of posts make me sad.  The USA is still the greatest country in the world!  Why is everyone trying to come here from other countries if this isn't true.  If you want distribution of weath move to Russia or Cuba.  I started my life dirt poor, but hard work and opportunity has helped me carve out a good life, I paid for my college and raised three kids with no help.  I not interested in sharing my wealth with anyone else, but I will share my success which started with a shove and a strong back.

It's fine if you want to take your shot's at Hillary, but to degrade the USA on the 4th of July is WRONG.

If you don't like it here I think Cuba is open.

Done a lot of oversees travel lately?  (I have a global role and travel / deal with foreign markets daily). World is passing us by.  By-and-large foreign regions are hungrier, smarter and more industrious - and willing to do far more for far less, without complaint.  Take pride while you grill, but realize we ARE on a skid.

If we'd merely stop catering to lobbiests and focus on education (particularly math and science), we might have hope.  Or we can elect a 70 year old who can't use a Blackberry properly.

I work for a Fortune 500 company and travel extensively, my company is cutting edge, we don't pay sweat shop wages, to get more done for less

But I am objecting to his timing. Lay off it for a day - start the hate mail on Tuesday.
How far do we go with looking the other way on bigotry for the 4th?  Is cross burning ok, but not churches?  Or do we have a full moratorium on civil rights and condone lynchings today too?

Yep, the Clinton's and their fellow millionaires are what's wrong with this country.  That's why we need a man of the people like Donald Trump!  He even eats taco bowls!

Lol that's about me.  As middle center as one can get. She's perfect for a middle of the road voter.
Who likes the corrupt political system where everyone is bought and sold and corporations will continue to have an even bigger stake in running this country while giving the middle finger to middle class.

What's not to like???    YAY!!!!!

The choice i see now is to accept a seasoned but flawed politician who will probably keep the status quo, or somebody who I don't think really wants to be president and if he does become president, will have no clue what to do

Is this one of those "you don't support my candidate so you must be a racist/bigot/sexist" posts?  You'll believe the anything about Trump, but when it comes to HRC she's as pure as the wind-driven snow, huh?

The United State is still the greatest nation on earth today, but after the holiday is over and the nothing burgers are digested, we will be ranked #14 in education and #2 in ignorance.

And yet we are so dumb, we dominate the world with our universities which are always the majority whether it is a top 10 list, top 50 list or top 100 list.  We dominate in innovation and Nobel Prize winners.  Medical advances almost always come from the US.

No, this is not one of those posts.  Might want to actually read the thread.

Look, people who believe they are about to be indicted do not agree to interrogation by FBI. Only do that if confident they're in the clear
- Makes sense to me.

Andrew C. McCarthy@AndrewCMcCarthy Jul 3
1/2 #ClintonFBI: Make cases go away by artificially 1- limit subject matter of inquiry or 2- inflate legal obstacles to evidence collection.

- Again, makes sense:

- See CNN's report on May 6th that the investigation was limited to "willful intent."

- 4 days later see WaPo's report on Mills' refusing to ask questions re: destruction of emails based on prior agreement with the DOJ.

Andrew C. McCarthy@AndrewCMcCarthy Jul 3
2/2: That way, create appearance of thorough investigation, but assure no-charges outcome.

Edward Mejia Davis@TeddyDavisCNN

Sources tell CNN's Evan Perez: expectation is that there will be announcement of no charges in Clinton email probe w/in next two weeks or so
Then later:

More from CNN's @EvanPerez: Expectation is no charges will be brought against Clinton- so long as no wrongdoing emerged in today's interview.
- Evan Perez was the reporter of the May 6th report for CNN.

FBI is main investigative agency of DOJ, but whether charges get filed is up to DOJ lawyers, not FBI. Lynch's call.
- Again true. Lynch and/or the Deputy AGs could also frame the scope of the investigation as discussed above in advance.

In most conspiracy cases, if main subject walks, everybody walks.
- So no charges for Blumenthal, Abedin, Pags, Cooper. After all they were all acting at the behest of Hillary.

@AndrewCMcCarthy Bill meets with Lynch on a plane and immediately the next day HILLARY is ready to talk ! The NEXT dam day!

We don't know that was sequence. Could be FBI scheduled interview, then Clinton met w/ Lynch, then questions to Hill
- Actually, I think it makes the most sense that Bill went to Lynch to get a final guarantee in person she was not facing legal jeopardy.

- Bill is literally the only person in America besides Obama who could walk up the US AG's plane unannounced.

- I also agree with other posters that the FBI interview must have been scheduled in advance. Bill may have been either impulsive or leaving nothing to chance or both.

Conclusion: well this ends our kabuki theater. I think the announcement will come out the week before the GOP convention, maybe towards the end of July 11-15th.

As for my part I will accept it when I see Comey's signature on a report stating that the FBI looked at secs. 1924 and 793 and found insufficient evidence for those two statutes specifically.

Those lists rank averages, there's no question that we're top heavy in talent. It's the bottom half of this country that drags us down on these lists.

I'm going to disagree. There's no question that other countries are improving, but I've been hearing this for 30 years.  It's also not a zero-sum game.

From a Trump parody account, but not much different than what is posted here occasionally:

President Trump@Writeintrump 2h2 hours ago

Remember if you see someone suspicious on the Fourth of July it's probably just a Democrat.

If she is not indicted (seemingly more than likely she won't), AND Comey and team don't indicate shenanigans, then I will vote for her.  :vomit:  I am incredibly disillusioned however, and Americans would be smart to list out the behaviors we will not tolerate - like targeting political enemies, opacity and any program even remotely forbidden without congressional approval.  She will need her wings clipped, and to be watched like a hawk.

By the next election cycle, we need to find some unity as a country and get campaign finance reform, and other basic reforms like education underway.  I'd like to think that a bi-product of this awful period in our history is that we wisen up and ensure we have better candidates and a more transparent and ethical process ongoing.

It's a nice hope, but I think most of us are resigned to the fact she won't since Obama, Lynch and her husband Bill are actively conspiring to ensure she won't.  Not much we can do when the corruption is from the top on down.  They will protect their own.

There's just no recourse.  The wagons are circled, thousand dollar an hour lawyers ensuring every word uttered is "objection" or "I don't recall," and there is no appetite for the truth at the DOJ.

If the scope was in fact narrowed to "willful intent", then it's been rigged and a foregone conclusion for months.

Anxious to hear from the FBI when it's all done -- but there will be nothing left to be done but weep for representative government.

That's not true at all.  It's clearly the standard set forth by others, but specifically by you and Tim.

And you can't provide a link to quote from anyone here who has said that. Not from Tim. Not from me. And not from one other person in this entire thread.

We have never once said that she is not guilty because she is not sitting in a jail cell. Never. One. Time.

‘President Hillary Clinton?’ She Wants Progress on Immigration and to Drink With G.O.P.

Should she win the presidency, Hillary Clinton would quickly try to find common ground with Republicans on an immigration overhaul and infrastructure spending, risking the wrath of liberals who would like nothing more than to twist the knife in a wounded opposition party.

In her first 100 days, she would also tap women to make up half of her cabinet in hopes of bringing a new tone and collaborative sensibility to Washington, while also looking past Wall Street to places like Silicon Valley for talent — perhaps wooing Sheryl Sandberg from Facebook, and maybe asking Tim Cook from Apple to become the first openly gay cabinet secretary.

...

Mrs. Clinton would even schmooze differently than the past few presidents have. Not one to do business over golf or basketball, she would bring back the intimate style of former Presidents Ronald Reagan and Lyndon B. Johnson, negotiating over adult beverages. Picture a steady stream of senators, congressmen and other leaders raising a glass and talking policy in the Oval Office with her and her likely chief of staff, John D. Podesta, as her husband pops in with a quick thought or a disarming compliment.

Deeply confident that she would perform better as the president than as a political candidate, Mrs. Clinton wants to pursue a whole new approach at the White House to try to break through years of partisan gridlock, according to a dozen campaign advisers and allies who described her goals and outlook. From policy goals and personnel to her instinct for patiently cultivating the enemy, Mrs. Clinton thinks she would be a better dealmaker than President Obama if she finds willing partners on the other side.

- Founded the DLC, folks. Governed in 70s-90s Arkansas.

- Corporate cabinet.

- Yellow dogs and GOP welcome.

And oh yes:

Democrats close to Mrs. Clinton say she may decide to retain Ms. Lynch, the nation’s first black woman to be attorney general, who took office in April 2015.

No conflict? Noooooo problem!
