Ok, this is getting ridiculous.

What was once a dominating roster has me fearing an 0-2 record, or worse, in the coming weeks.

I don't want anyone's pity. I just needed someone to talk to.

Thanks

:kicksrock:

Sorry to use you as an example but the is perfect support to the "cant win a championship in the first couple rounds but you can certainly lose one". This is why you get the proven, HEALTHY players early on.

You drafted D Bennett twice?
This guy lost last week?Starting: Warner - who blewupJamal - got a TDChester - got a TDMuhammed, Evans, and Drew Bennett- middle of the road thereK- Akers did okayDallas did okay.
Started Palmer. :ptts: Played high score for the week. he had McNabb, LT2, Marv, westy, Balt-D.

They were my first and second round picks.

Just barely lost week one, looks like I'm heading there week two.

And in this league I went McGahee - Moss last year. :bag:

And I know, nobody cares.

This is why - if you play in a [DYNASTY] league - it's the best opportunity to make a move on these guys...

They are definite studs - and some (if not most) owners that play in [DYNASTY] leagues have played in redraft formats for too long and are ready to jump the gun on them...

If your offer is decent - i.e. a good WR/RB (Ward/McGahee) along with a tremendous pick in next year's rookie draft... you might be able to snatch up Smith or Portis...

This obvisouly assumes that you have depth at the position you are targeting - in order to deal a good healthy player (that the other owner will want badly - "he needs to see points adding up on his live scoring screen!") and that you are willing to part with a chance of drafting Ted Ginn for example...

To have Smith on my [DYNASTY] roster - I'm willing...

It's definitely the time to make some offers for these guys...

In one of my dynasty leagues I traded for both Portis & S.Smith (pre-injuries). Needless to say I did lose last week. It's tough....but there is a good chance we will get them back in a few weeks. Just need to get a win or two in the first 4 weeks & hope we have them both for the rest of the way. We will be alright (denial).

I own Portis and Smith on 6 different dynasty teams, and just Portis in a 7th. Yeah, week one was NOT kind. But I'd rather Smith take his time, come back 100%, so i can dominate when it counts the most. :)

Sorry to hear that. You should plan your draft better. Drafting Smith wasn't too bright. Typically you should stay away from WRs with hamstring injuries. And unless you drafted towards the end of the second you should have stayed away from Portis. And drafting 2 question marks in the first three rounds isn't smart. You are trying to build a solid foundation with your first few picks, and starting off your team with a shaking foundation is a terrible strategy.

Of course, I'm the one that took Moss over Smith, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I own Portis, M Bell, D Foster and J Lewis in one league, and I am trying to trade D foster/ Dwilliams handcuff for S Smith and D Rhodes.I think the CAR running game is ####ed. and SS will be fine in time for the playoffs when you really need him,

That team you played had his best game of the year, all the stars aligned just wrong for you.

Oh I like my teams chances even with the injuries. Thats why I took the chance on Portis in round 2. Didn't think SS's hammy was a big deal and I drafted before the 2nd injury.

I own Portis (11th pick overall) and Smith (4th round keeper) in my 13-team league.

Used Bell/Bell at RB (Portis, A.Green, L.Maroney, L.Betts on the bench)

Used Chad/Heap/Watson at WR/TE (Smith on bench)

Lost because of my QB (Plummer) and his Kicker (Wilkins).

In my five player keeper league, I traded TO for Portis and TJH (was still bitter about TO costing me my SB championship last year - LOL) My trading partner and I played each other week one. I think he got the better of that trade week 1 since both were on my bench sitting next to WR Steve "Hammy" Smith. TO got him a TD and I lost by 5 pts.

Another Week without Portis and Smith is not going to be fun. Here is hoping that Willie Parker and Mushin Mohammad can step up in the TD production area. :banned: What really hurts is with Smith and TJ out, it really does not help my two fantasy QBs: Palmer and Delhomme! GRRRRR

EDIT: Now it is looking like TJH is probably out too!

Sep 15 Houshmandzadeh (heel) was downgraded to questionable and is unlikely to play against the Browns on Sunday, the team's official site reports.

Recommendation: Houshmandzadeh did not practice at all this week. Chris Henry would likely start with Kelley Washington playing in the slot.

I my local, I did the same thing... Portis at 1.5 (pre-injury) and Smith at 2.8, thinking he's be OK by week 1, or at least be healthy by week 2. He had hammy problems last year in training camp, so I figured it was safe enough. Still, being the 6th WR taken, he was a value I couldn't pass on. Needless to say, I lost in week 1, and week two looks no better. The same thing happened to me in my local last year.... I lost 4 of my 5 top draft picks to injury, and the curse continues.....

Ok, how many of you guys were 0-2, and now are 1-2?

I went from last place in my league in total points to first in one week.

It's nice to get your best guys back. :pickle:

looking good now. 2-0 without them 3-0 now they are back. actually picked up stallworth when he got traded and traded him for portis straight up when Portis was hurt. paying off now. portis blows up and stallworth sits on the bench.
