I'm sure this was beaten to death already, but Barnes held like crazy on that big run of Garrard's.
OK.I ran into Reggie Nelson at Sneakers last week and he guaranteed a win against the Pats. What the #### are you talking about?Typical slander / fiction."We don't talk; we produce." - Rodney HarrisonEvery game has it's own personality. The Jags aren't a juggernaut, that's what the Pats call themselves. The Jags play good smashmouth football. I hope to see a good game, and I hope the Jags win.C'mon man, face reality. NE is going to kill them. They are a good, physical team. But they are not the juggernaut and "potential NE beater" everyone is making them out to be. They couldn't pass or run tonight. Ben had his way (when he wasn't making stupid throws into double coverage). Brady will carve them up.
Here's hoping San Diego gets the W today, so the Jags get the matchup they've been beggin for.
Welcome to the Bigs, Jacksonville; we got something for ya.

Most of the board is anti-Steeler so don't even try......Seriously. It's not even a question. How can you possibly disagree?I'm sure this was beaten to death already, but Barnes held like crazy on that big run of Garrard's.![]()
Come on Andy, everyone knows that all the bad calls always go in favor of the Steelers.Seriously. It's not even a question. How can you possibly disagree?I'm sure this was beaten to death already, but Barnes held like crazy on that big run of Garrard's.![]()
No argument here.Quit the #####ing people. It was a poorly officiated game on both sides. Period
So the referee yesterday was the guy in the commercial that was "going to penalize the other team....in the second half....for no apparent reason....just to keep it even..."?Good plan by the NFL.Come on Andy, everyone knows that all the bad calls always go in favor of the Steelers.Seriously. All this talk about the poor officiating is a waste of time. Calls were made; the Jags overcame the calls that went against them and the Steelers didn't overcome the calls that went against them. That's the way it goes.
That thought crossed my mind but a lot can go wrong with a FG attempt and the Steelers still had 40 seconds remaining to get into FG range themselves. I don't think letting them score a TD was the prudent thing to do there.Unfortunately the crappy special teams gave us no field position and on 1st down Trai Essex AND Najeh Davenport couldn't stop McCray and Ben was sacked and fumbled.CanadianNFLJunkie said:I won't read the pages and pages of stuff here but didn't anyone else think, at the time like I did, that perhaps when Garrard did his famous QB draw that Pitt SHOULD HAVE let him score? Logic here is Jax goes up 8 but at least Pitt would get the ball back with their time-outs instead of watching Jax milk the clock, kick a FG and give Pitt the ball back with under a minute to go with no timeouts? We've seen this happen more often. I think that Smith blew it again by stopping Garrard on that long run.

REF SHOULD HAVE FLAGGED GARRARD RUNPosted by Michael David Smith on April 2, 2008, 1:39 p.m. One of the most exciting plays of this year’s playoffs should have been called back because of a holding penalty.Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the NFL now acknowledges that Jaguars quarterback David Garrard’s 32-yard run on fourth-and-2 late in Jacksonville’s playoff win over the Steelers was aided by a block that should have been flagged for holding.Per Bouchette, VP of Officiating Mike Pereira admitted that the crew working the game erred in not calling a holding penalty against Jacksonville on the play, which set the Jaguars up for the winning field goal.Steelers coach Mike Tomlin declined to comment yesterday.Although the missed call was disappointing to Steelers fans, there are plenty of more flagrant holds that don’t get called, and that non-call was far from the only reason the Steelers lost.In fact, part of the reason Tomlin declined to comment may be that he realizes his own odd decision to call for Ben Roethlisberger to run up the middle on third-and-6 with 2:56 left in the game hurt the Steelers as much as the missed holding penalty. That quarterback sneak netted the Steelers one yard, and the punt on the next play put the Jaguars in position for the game-winning drive.
What about that PI call? Puh-leeze.I'm sure this was beaten to death already, but Barnes held like crazy on that big run of Garrard's.From PFT

Pretty much what most of us Steelers fans said. There are bad calls in every game -- we're not making excuses. The Steelers had opportunities to win and they didn't. We're more pissed-off at the stupid 3rd and 6 call by our coaching staff than anything else.FYI - PFT and Andy D. are NOT Steelers fans.the Jag Zone said:...as they say in 'Picksburgh' when they win and the other team seems to be complaining.... "it's Football".. ...good Lord..
