*** Official Jaguars Thread - Team Putting #DTWD to The Test *** (1 Viewer)

:Exhale:

OK, maybe everybody is blowing this up more than they need to (after Fowler last year). If you read the Jaguars statement in depth it ends with

"More information will be available when Jaguars athletic training staff determine the appropriate medical care."

Sounds like his second opinion next week isn't with outside doctor. Sounds like maybe team wants to see if rest lets it heal on its own.

And there's this

If your tear is small and on the outer edge of the meniscus, it may not require surgical repair. As long as your symptoms do not persist and your knee is stable, nonsurgical treatment may be all you need.

*I am not a doctor nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn Express. I would defer to Dr. Jene or any medical personnel

Countdown to the team releasing info saying that they knew about Ramsey's microfracture surgery in HS but discounted it since the knee has been stable for 4+ years...

im sure they did know, and since it had been stable, whats the issue?

I don't think it's a huge deal but they're kind of under the microscope (better than arthroscope) after Fowler last year and rolling the dice on Jack as well.

Jaguars supporter group Bold City Brigade opened membership less than an hour ago and already have a couple hundred members.

There's another one:

@Adam Schefter:
Jaguars' 7th-round pick Jonathan Woodard has undergone Achilles surgery. He will open season on Jaguars' PUP list and be out indefinitely.

And another:

@NFL_DovKleiman:
#Jaguars C Luke Bowanko, who started 14 out of 16 games in 2014, has injured his labrum in his right hip and will require surgery, per team

Not a jags fan, but that was crazy when I first saw an alert about an injury to Ramsey.  Glad he will be ok.  Many athletes have had surgery on meniscus tears and it has not been a big deal.  GL

Acording to beat writer Ryan O'Halloran, the three best Jaguars payers in OTAs were

1- Tashaun Gipson

2- Dante Fowler

3- Julius Thomas

Oh, and Jalen Ramsey is off of his crutches. Myles Jack can't attend OTA because of outdated graduation rule.

PFT reporting Hurns signs 4 year extension at >10 Mil per.

ARobinson  can't sign an extension until after this year

From undrafted two years ago, with a $20k signing bonus, to this. Good for Hurnsey. Hard work pays off.

The Jags are going to have to shell out some BIG money starting next year. Have not had that "problem" for quite some time.

Oh, and AR15 is going to get PAID.

I love the fact that some folks are criticizing the Jags for locking up a young stud WR before his final contract year so they didn't have to worry about him being a RFA.

If they didn't sign him, it would be "small market team that was too slow to lock up young talent" .

Now that they sign him it's "a total overspend by a team not used to success".

They're using a bit of their current cap for future years. Really smart to do so. Bortles, AR, Telvin, and Linder are all going to command big $ next year.

Lazy people love to criticize this team.

Hurns contract details are out - and -surprise, they're not as huge as first announced.

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/jacksonville-jaguars/allen-hurns/

It's basically a 2 year 16 Mil guaranteed contract and a bunch of 1 year deals after that. Good chance he never sees that 2020 9.5 Mil salary (probably renegotiated or cut before then).

Four MIl of his 2018 salary is condiiionally guaranteed (if he's on the roster by certain date?).

Jags can get out of deal after 2017 with no dead money if they wanted.

More smart structuring by the FO.

Jags reportedly brought in Greg Hardy but did not sign him.

I think it's just a Kick The Tires look in case the kids fail.

While I'm not enamored with the thought of Greg Hardy playing for the Jags, it does show that Dave and Gus are under the gun for some W's this year.

PASS.

Welp.  They're doomed now.

TEAM THAT IMPRESSED ME THE MOST: Jacksonville. Saw a Friday night stadium scrimmage, and this defense is finally looking like a playoff unit. Dante Fowler and Malik Jackson will be beasts, and the secondary, other than Jonathan Cyprien, is almost all new. Then there’s Year Three of Blake Bortles, who threw 35 touchdown passes last season, then spent lots of chemistry time with Allen Robinson (1,400 yards, 14 TDs last year) in the offseason. The Jags should be in contention for the AFC South title into late December.

Joeckel officially moved to LG.

He was prison abused by Geno Atkins last game, so there's that.
I loved how the announcers were commenting on the move as something positive for the former first rounder (read: salvage a bust), then the very next play he gets PANCAKED on his butt by Atkins. I mean he was blown off the line and thrown on his back. :lmao:

He looked like a college Div II player out there. Granted, he was up against perhaps the best DT in the game, but he wasn't just beaten or schooled, he got blown away.

Yup. Not good.

Wait, Tyrone Holmes was cut, but Chris ####### Smith made the roster again. Holmes had a good preseason. Chris Smith has shown nothing.

Once again, this team deserves to be ####ty. ####.
