Official Jamal Lewis Thread (1 Viewer)

On the NFL Network they were saying that it's going to be a GTD and that his ankle is heavily taped.

Per TSN:

Oct. 27, 2007 - 7:40 a.m.

Lewis told the Akron Beacon Journal that he won't decide on his status for Week 8 until he tests his sore foot Sunday. He is listed as questionable.

Fantasy Source spin: Translation: game-time decision. Working against Lewis is the fact that he'll be playing on artificial turf in St. Louis. Check back Sunday, but have Jason Wright ready to swap in.

On NFL Network in the game previews analysis / Schefter (sp?) just said it doesn't look like Jamal Lewis will be playing.

Nobody knows for sure but I think Wright would get 65% of the carries and Harrison the other 35%. They like Harrison's agility but he still doesnt do the little things well and they like Wright's hardnosed running style.

Jamal Lewis, RB CLE

News: Browns RB Jamal Lewis told CBS Sports this morning that he will play in Week 8 at St. Louis, but the team has yet to officially mark him as active. Lewis is nursing a foot injury that's kept him limited at practice all week. If he cannot start, Jason Wright will go in his place, and even if Lewis does start, Wright will see some reps.

from Roto

CBS Sports is reporting that Jamal Lewis says he will play against the Rams in Week 8.

The Browns have yet to make an official announcement, but Lewis was seen participating in pre-game warmups. If he starts, Lewis is a strong play against the lowly Rams. Jason Wright would also be a solid play if Lewis is out.

I think I just heard the guy on Sirius (Steve Cohen) say Lewis is likely out. Of course he's probably going with old info and not today's warmups.

Jamal Lewis-RB-Browns Oct. 28 - 11:52 am et

Jamal Lewis (foot) is active against St. Louis, but the Rams have three running backs on the game-day roster.

That is likely an indication that the Browns realize Lewis will be limited in the game. Lewis couldn't go through a full practice all week and was hardly confident about his playing status before Sunday. Expect a close to equal carry share between him, Jason Wright, and the explosive Jerome Harrison.

nfl network just listed lewis as inactive what the hell is going on here?!?

According to NFL.com

Cleveland Browns

Inactives: QB Ken Dorsey (3rd QB), DB Kenny Wright, DB Nick Sorensen, G Isaac Sowells, T Nat Dorsey, WR Travis Wilson, NT Ted Washington, DT Louis Leonard

Fantasy take: Jamal Lewis is active and should be considered a nice option against a weak St. Louis run defense. His presence hurts the value of Jason Wright, however.

Question is if he does indeed start for the Browns, is he worth starting on a fantasy team? He's got a great matchup but it sounds more and more like they will use all three RBs today.

Browns | Week 8 InactivesSun, 28 Oct 2007 09:04:16 -0700The Cleveland Browns have declared OL Isaac Sowells, QB Ken Dorsey, DL Louis Leonard, OT Nat Dorsey, FS Nick Sorensen, DL Ted Washington, WR Travis Wilson inactive for Week 8.
I don't see Jamal Lewis name on the Browns Inactive list.

I am assuming all 3 backs are a risky start b/c who knows how the carries will be divided.

From ESPN

Jamal Lewis (foot) is active and will start Sunday against the Rams. Wright will be his primary backup.

Spin: Lewis will get the bulk of the workload, but Wright is still a decent flex play against St. Louis' hapless defense. Wright could also see some added looks if Lewis' foot gives him any troubles.

Jamal Lewis will play Week 8

Jamal Lewis, RB CLE

News: Browns RB Jamal Lewis was not listed among the inactives for Week 8 and will start at RB for Cleveland against the Rams. Lewis was nursing a foot injury that kept him limited at practice all week.

Analysis: Lewis gets the nod, so consider him a high-end No. 2 or low-end No. 1 Fantasy RB today against a team that ranks only 24th against the run this season. Jason Wright will back him up, but isn't worth starting in any format this week, so be sure to bench him.

(KFFL) ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Cleveland Browns RB Jamal Lewis (foot) will start the team's Week 8 game.

All the talking heads are saying you should now insert Jamal and be sure to take out Wright, isn't this exactly the opposite of what you should do? Due to bye week I am forced to play one of them, and I would assume Wright has a very good chance to get the majority of the carries here.

You risk on the opposite side of the stick.. A guy who is starting is always the safer bet.. Instead you are hoping the reports are wrong and Lewis can't go.. I rather go with odds and start Lewis.

Well, it sounds like Lewis is starting, but it might be a committee today for CLE. I don't think this can be good news for Wright owners hoping he'd get 20 carries or so.

So What's the deal with Carolina RB situation and Cleveland RBs?

I have many of these guys in leagues and I have no idea who to play.

Wright or Deangelo?

Play Foster?

HELP FOOTBALLGUYS!

I have both, and think I still may leave Wright in, as a backup in case JLewis leaves the game in the 1st. Not to mention even if JLewis plays the whole game, Wright can still give you 3 rec 30 yds.

Both Foster and Jamal Lewis are active. How much they play is unkown

So now Jamal is completely healthy and Wright isn't worth anything.....I don't believe it.
Mr Lewis isn't exactly the pillar of health, or better yet, durabilityHe might get the start, carry once for 11 yards, then take himself out and call it an afternoon

...wait a minute---we've seen this one before, haven't we!

unfortunately, I'm stuck w/him in 1 league and Wright in another (guess we're looking for 40 carries from the Brownies today, eh?!?!)

I've got the same decision. It would have been much easier if Lewis were just declared out.Do I go with Lewis, Wright, or Foster?

I had to go with Wright or Droughns. I'd rather take my chances with Droughns. Wright won't play much if Lewis is able to play. Lewis, a little Wright, a little Harrison.

I have about three minutes to either stick with Lewis or pickup Deshaun Wynn and start him....... I hate Fantasy!!
