Actually what should frighten you is that day to day operational decision making from the Oval Office is coming from Susan Rice. And when she is indisposed, the country then is being run by Jennifer Dillon.
A major problem is once you get outside of the "brand names", you don't have any practical logistics capability within the upper tiers of the staffing. While I'm not a fan of AOC, her former Chief Of Staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, was and still is a legitimate talent.

The VP shortlist was Harris, Rice and Gretchen Whitmer. So you can see the immediate fractures in the methodology right there. None of them have any real skill or success in actual widespread public policy. The best policy/logistics person left with some kind of profile in the Party apparatus was Amy Klobuchar. If Klobuchar was VP and essentially running the country while Biden was hiding in his basement eating an egg salad sandwich and watching dog earred VHS copies of Murder She Wrote and Highway To Heaven, America would be in a 10,000 percent better position today.
If you look up and down the Biden roster, there are no actual logistics people at all. This isn't all that different from sports. You need guys like Shane Battier and Shaun Livingston on your team. Solid fundamental guys, not stars, but understand the practical mechanics of why teams win and how to organically do their part to move the franchise in that direction.
Saikat Chakrabarti might be a zealot. But he's a zealot that understands what sells in the mass media and on social media. He can take a single ad dollar and convert it into 75 dollars of unpaid media coverage in value. Of course the old guard establishment Democrats hated him and thus they bracketed him. People who want to win find a way to weaponize Chakrabarti and not cancel him out.
I had a neighbor in Beacon Hill who was a Red Sox diehard and said to me that at some point, you just have to hire the guy who finds a way who gets things done ( i.e. Theo Epstein) and not the retread who makes some elderly owner still feel relevant. The talent pool is out there for the Democratic Party to actually dominate American politics long term.
