"Uh, Paul in uh....."

Jub Jub getting hammered today. I don't know what is better; the drop or how defensive he is about it. :lmao:
What happened here..recap? I live in SA so i only get bits and pieces via ticket podcasts. TIA.
When the towers went down the Musers had a moment of silence to honor the victims. Unfortunately for George he tried to go to the phones and take a call during the moment of silence. As if doing that isn't bad enough, Gordo brings it up and twists the knife every chance he gets. It absolutely drives George crazy and I'm shocked he hasn't managed to purge that drop from the Enco yet. Here's a longer clip:George's Moment of Silence

During muse in the news on September 11th 2009, Gordon suggested they have a moment of silence as a tribute. If it were anyone but Gordo it would be touching but Jub Jub knew it was simply an excuse for Gordo to play the drop "Uh, Paul in uh". Jub protested but then Craig and Gordo starting slamming him for not wanting to honor the fallen with a moment of silence. At this point Jub is hyper defensive, knows there is no way to win, and goes into total give up mode as they play the drop about 4 times. It doesn't happen very often, but when Jub gets totally dogpiled by Craig and Gordo it's gold.
Thats pretty good. Thanks for the link and recap.

I know these questions have been thrown out, but I still don't know the answers:

1. Is Rhyner without wife? How long ago did this happen, and any details?

2. Who is Line Four Guy?

3. Anyone heard from Ben and Skin? Post-BDH Greggo??

I know these questions have been thrown out, but I still don't know the answers:1. Is Rhyner without wife? How long ago did this happen, and any details?-I dunno. JoeT when he used to post here had some details on this. They've been on the rocks for a long time regardless, and seemed to come back together about this time last year. That reconciliation is over I think somebody says he has a place in uptown now. Not sure about that though.2. Who is Line Four Guy?-Nobody really knows, but the recent intel has him being one of Dan's friends.3. Anyone heard from Ben and Skin? Post-BDH Greggo??They each had day jobs in the media before. No telling where they wind up. Nothing on Greggo that I know of.

Supposedly there was a "Uh, Paul in uh" and other Ticket-esque signs on the college gameday telecast. Anyone have a link or pic?Found a link to "we're having fun here, no?".

Bob and Dan have me PUMPED for....hockey?!?

From '96 to '03, I was a huge HUGE hockey fan. Use to call The Rangers my wife, but the Stars my hot mistress, but I have fallen off the last few years, barely keeping up. But now I find myself really excited for this season.

On paper, there is no reason to be excited. The blueline is very average at best. The face of your franchise is playing 3rd/4th line and is probably a year away from retiring with his smoking hot wife. Your goalie is either amazing or horrible, never inbetween. Oh yeah, your owner is extremely close to the FLOOR of the salary cap and won't/can't spend any other money.

Still..... I am pumped about the season starting.

This hockey comment did not deserve it's own thread, so I thought I would stick it here.

P.S. Dirk looks awesome channeling his inner Spicoli with long hair and dark tan. The beaches of Greece treated him well.

There is no floor for how bad the Stars will be. At least it appears there will be no infection of Stars talk to other shows with this new coverage. What remains to be seen is how much good radio they will waste with the actual games.

Games will be at night. Unless you are a hardcore Dan Patrick fan, I doubt you will miss anything. And yes, I would say the over/under on hockey segments on D&M and The Hardline is 1.5 per week.

The Marty B segment is such a ;) . It sounds like he's high and is gargling marbles when he talks. You just know B&D have total failed smile every week when this rolls around. Talk about a beating.

It is such bad/good radio. But I have a hard time sitting through 10 mins of doodoo to get that one diamond moment.

BAD Radio gets my full attention for its 3 hours.

I try and catch the Hardline around 4:30. Other than that, I pretty much tune out nowadays.

A full hour of Cuban in studio with only one segment on the Mavs is pure gold. He is all over the place and giving really good opinions.

Hansen? Really? Is he about to make a comeback on the little Ticket?
That was a shocking thing to wake up to.
I guess you haven't paid attention much. They've been talking about this for a week.
I basically only hear some of the Observation Deck and Gordo's Corner.
I had no idea as well. Props to Hansen for coming in and taking Gordo's full shot all morning.Fake Jerry: "Good to talk to two guys that I FIRED."

I thought Dale was pretty enjoyable to listen to during the Corner. His stammering is too distracting to take for a full show for me, though.

91.7 FM started today. It has already played 50 times better music in 9 hours than anything else in town has played in months.

Think NPR, but for music.

Music died in this town when Q102 was killt and Y95 was replaced by the edge. Well, that and channelization.

Good point. Man, I had forgotten all about Y95. I liked the first month or so of 93.3 The Zone, but they did not stick to their guns and morphed into another Top 40 station.

also looks like Dan Paul will be live in their studio tomorrow morning.
damn, and I am in Austin tonight and tomorrow. Will see if I can pick it up later online. I'm not much on country music, but have really enjoyed his album. It deserves to stand on its own, and not just as some shtick purchase.I was able to listen to 91.7 all the way to Waco and it is really, really solid. It is all over the place, but really good. World Cafe is a quality show that I have been missing out on.

Ben and Skin now on ESPN for 6-9PM plus Mavs pre and post game show.

Probably a good spot for them during Mavs and Cowboy season. Will be interesting to see if they can do anything during the spring and summer, during their weak part of the year.

This makes them the second (and third I guess) radio host, behind Kevin Scott, to work for the DFW Trifecta of The Ticket, The Fan and ESPN.

Staying away this week. Anti-cowboy talk will get old fast.

Too bad to, because TCU should be getting tons of airplay this week.

went to TCU on Saturday morning

College Gameday is a very underwhelming experience. Of course, they weren't anywhere near the tailgaters.

 I've gone in Austin and at the State Fair and agree that it looks a lot cooler than it is. TigerFan said the same thing about seeing it at LSU.

I agree wif Tigerfan. It's cool when you are in college... "GAME DAY IS HERE."Not in college = not as cool.

91.7 - Still better than anything going, but they need to increase and widen their playlist. Getting a bit redundant at times and leaning more and more towards random country.

93.3 - Total crap. It has to drive Corby and Danny crazy that that music is probably piped into the offices. Can't they see that they are already behind 106.1, 102.9 and others I am sure. Give DFW a metal channel or something different.

Yeah 91.7 leans a little too heavy to slow roll alt-country at times. Still can give a nice run at times to get through some of the bad ticket stretches.93.3 is pretty hilarious. I haven't wiped it out just so I can check in and see what's on it. I'm really of the opinion that perhaps pop music has just passed me by. Not long until Pearl Jam and others become classic rock. They aren't even trying to compete with 102.9 from my sampling their playlist could not be further apart. Haven't tuned into 106.1 ever so no idea what they are rolling with. The sad thing is 102.1 is totally lost. Nobody is making new music for that genre anymore for mass markets. They can't play the teeny-bopper stuff for their pride reasons so they fill half their hours with mid 90s overplays. They can only shove Kings of Leon down the throats of people just so many times an hour. I really need a car with an ipod dock.

I'm loving 91.7. For awhile it seemed like the afternoon guy was playing too much classic rock, but they seem to have reeled that in.
