If you guys are going on Sunday, I highly recommend going around 12 and getting bracelets for the plaza party.  For game 4 they restricted it to only 200 people.  That's where we were sitting before some guy hooked me and my son up.  There was plenty of space.

Here's a screenshot of me and my boys watching the pregame.  PLENTY of room around us on all sides, definitely not NEAR as packed as Broadway was.  I left around 11:45 to get the bracelets, and there was already 3-4 rows deep of lawn chairs in front of the Broadway stage/tv being set up.  I actually had to come back at 1 for the bracelets as they moved it back an hour.  By the time we got back there at 5 to set up for the game, Broad was already packed and shoulder to shoulder.

I was originally told we could take lawn chairs to the plaza, but that ended up not being the case, so had to run them back to the Jeep. But if you're fine sitting on the ground/occasionally standing up, the plaza watch party is definitely the place to go. Lots of people brought blankets.  They had food trucks set up with beer/food/liquor, too.  If they restrict it to around 200 people again, it's where we'll be if we don't get tickets from the waiting list.  NHL network and news guys came down and interacted with everyone, it was pretty awesome.

May do that with some people...or check out the Broadway scene....Sunday will likely be with friends.

Going Thrusday night to the watch party at Bridgestone with the family.

Need to get out and get some gold for the kids.  They have outgrown most of their preds gear.

Yah, we'll be there Thursday as well.  Let's do this.

I apologize if this was said before, as I said I am a casual fan unless my team is in it. Smashville is an awesome nickname, I feel like Predators doesn't do them justice. Like the Nashville Bullys, Nashville Hulks, Nashville Avengers, Nashville Bouncers, Nashville Demigods.

Just curious if any of us longtime Preds fans have any secondary teams you root for.

For instance, I've started following the Bruins recently, mainly because of Marc Savard.

(Edit to add: I also like how they picked up on the Preds' black and gold color scheme.)

Anyone else?

Predz only 4 life

you must be a Devils fan since Savard is an integral part of their rooster.  just think if Savard, Kovalchuk, and Volchenkov all would have been healthy this year.  huge losses.  probably cup bound.

I hope they don't lose any of them in the expansion draft. A team built around any of them? Plus Maatta? Instant threat to our Preds dynasty.

I would love that but have to work until 430 that afternoon. Might try to talk my buddy into going down early but I'm guessing a lot of people will want those 200.  Is there anywhere to just chill out on Broadway to watch? Not a bar but a visible big screen?

All over Broadway.  I'd guess they will have that same setup.

butnot sure how CMA fest will alter what's going on.

Thinking about 100,000 between all that's going on will be around downtown.

CMA fest is:was a garbage factory WITHOUT the Stanley Cup going on.  Sooo many people.  God I wish I was there.  For either.  Great times in Smashville during the CMAs.

CMA Fest...straw hats, boots, and fanny packs every where you go.

Also...a nice amount of good looking chicks in short shorts or sundresses and boots.

Years ago...we were in a bar (TIn Roof) on Music Row.  CMA Fest (FanFair at the time I think) and the PRIDE festival were happening at the same time.  So when people came in the bar, we tried to guess which event they were in town for.  Guy walks in with really skinny jeans (this is before they were more mainstream for some of these guys)...but also had a huge belt buckle.  Quick as I could I exclaim..."he's here for both".

I haven't been for the finals.

Broadway...any bar of you get there early.  Ascend again Im sure.
Drove by the Ascend on the way to The High Watt on Monday. Off the charts. Then trying to get back to my daughters place after the show at about the same time the game was over, was ridonkulous.

That's awesome. What a buzz that city must have. To be alive, young, and a musician in Nashville is never easy, but it must be a bit cool right now.

Pens blogger accuses Preds if piping in crowd noise thanks to his radio trained ears.

See Odds and Ends at bottom

–I’m convinced the Bridgestone Arena is using the PA to amp crowd noise. Facts–the arena plays warm-up and in-game music at 110-112dbs, as measured by my own device. At the height of the crowd mania in Game 4, I believe my radio trained ears heard the pops and cracks of over-modulation. Lastly, the sound levels are never shown in the arena, unlike every other arena in which I’ve covered games.

Why would the “record holder” not show the sound level? The loudest the sound meter (on my iPhone) hit was about 114dbs. 114 is a great number and the crowd is engaged for a full 60 minutes. People don’t leave 10 minutes early to hit the bars or beat traffic.

However, I believe I call “bunk” on the 130dbs claim, at least achieved organically. However, the Predators are welcome to prove it.

  @ expecting an iphone App to accurately measure SPL of 114db+

Take your loss like a man, nancy.

I'll give it the game day bump!

Watching basketball last night, 9pm tipoff - at halftime, I decided there was no way the Warriors would lose, so I went to bed to save my energy for tonight.

Preds!!! :excited:

Today is my oldest's birthday.  Woke up at 5:00 am to take him to the Ford Ice Center's open stick and puck, since he's wanting to play but not quite old enough yet, so we just do the open stick and skate around with all his gear on.  The guy who brought his goalie gear let him score on a breakaway, everyone there cheered and made a big deal, amazing start to the day.

Got to work, and downtown is already buzzing.  People everywhere, not sure if there's more cowboy hats or Pred's jerseys, but it's incredibly close, which is unbelievable since CMA fest is in town, but it's amazing.

Wife and kid's are heading downtown around 2 today, can't wait.  Today is going to be a great day.  Go preds.
