That isn't my position, and I have no idea who that guy is beyond a 30 second Google search. The overwhelming sentiment in here seems to be that it was just an unfortunate incident undeserving of the major and game misconduct, which I think is total BS. IMO it was an intentional slash and an intentional cross check that both unintentionally caught Crosby in the head, which is deserving of the major (and also a minor to Ovechkin) if not a one game suspension.

The guys on Sirius NHL radio (which I listen to at work if I'm doing paperwork type stuff) universally agree with the major call, and with the cross check being intentional (not aiming at the head), and since I am unable to link that, I provided other sources that I didn't bother to really look into (the Domi tweet was totally tongue-in-cheek BTW). I'll stand by the "just a hockey play" and "didn't deserve a major" as being total BS. Obviously the Washington had a conspiracy to injure Crosby stuff is also BS.

On the extra minor there that led to the first goal?  Could have easily evened it up...but hardly rooked (especially given the obstruction call against Subban right after the goal).

Reaves coming in as the 3rd guy and going with the headlock got him that little 2 minutes.

Im surprised the refs actually didn't get better control of this earlier with some of the chippy crap going on both sides after the whistle all game.  The one they "tried" to get control of early with the yapping involving McCleod and Reaves didn't really do much.

 
Blues got jobbed there, that call was the difference.  but the Preds got pretty jobbed in game 2 where it probably ends up a 3-0 series.  it evens out IMO.

 
Biggest game of the Ovechkin era tonight? They all feel big this time of year, but this might be it. Caps win, and this series a best of 3 donnybrook, with Caps holding home ice.

Lose, and that is probably it for the Caps' last, best chance to win the Cup with this group. To help pass the time until opening faceoff, I'm gonna to soothe myself by reading hot sports takes out of Pittsburgh, then flip over to the first inning of the Orioles game and see if the Red Sox throw at Manny Machado yet again.

The fans might feel that way but I think the pressure is on Pens. Good chance Crosby and Sheary miss rest of series. If they lose this, then Caps have to be Series favorites.

Expecting Pens to come out blazing.  Win one for Sid, yadda yadda

Super casual fan. I'm in Canada for work and just had some people show me the Crosby play. So there is going to be a fight tonight, right? Are we talking as soon as the puck drops?

 
All kidding aside, death of Crosby sinks the Pens.  It's not just him, it's Letang, Sherry, etc..  far too much to overcome after a long grueling season. 

It was a good run

also, Big Lebowski on again at 9PM DIRECTV channel 509 (HBOZHD) if you're looking for something once this gets out of hand. 

This is not 'Nam.  This is bowling.  There are rules.

I'm at an Irish wake for a WWII vet and there are 30 Caps fans here. Nothing goes together like Jameson and playoff hockey!
