Something else I learned here today: There are a lot more Penguins fans than I realized. How in the world did they finish last in attendance in 2004 and almost move to Kansas City?
Lots of Pittsburgh fans on this board.  The Steelers thread is always active and actually has some really knowledgeable football fans

C'mon Dickie, be fair. 1992 until 2008 was a long time between SC wins. You didn't expect them to stay fans during this long, lean period, didya?

There seems to be no explanation for it, but there are always more Penguins fans on these boards when the team is doing well.  #bandwagon

Sheriff was the only one that would come around and take his lumps when they lost a series.

With everyone selling out to block shots in the playoffs, I love the slap pass. Defender hits the ice as a guy winds up and it opens up so many passing lanes. Wish teams would do it more - drives me a little crazy seeing guys firing shots into what everyone knows is going to be a block.

####ty break for the Blues there.  take a short handed situation out of a scrum in a 0-0 3rd period playoff game and they bury it.  probably their best game of this playoff too.

at least bayhawk is happy

So what is with the thread title and the disparaging remarks about Sid Crosby and the Pens? Are we going to have a problem here?  :boxing:

Niskanen needs to be banned from the league!!

I missed the game, due to a concert I had tickets for, and it sounds like I'm glad I did.  The Blues lost and apparently got rooked by the refs?  Damn.

So can anyone tell me more about Neal Pionk? I know he's on the smaller side but his skillset seems pretty solid based on what I've read. How far is he from contributing at least some third pair minutes?

And another one from a non-Pittsburgh source (in MN, just for you Brasky):

http://www.startribune.com/watch-the-sidney-crosby-hit-dirty-play-or-bad-timing/420999953/

"I’ve watched the slow-motion replay a dozen times now (at least) and I still can’t decide for sure whether Niskanen intentionally went for Crosby’s head or if the hit would have landed more in the chest or shoulder area if Crosby wasn’t falling a little.

The combination of all the factors, though — from Washington’s desperation, to the Capitals’ knowledge of Crosby’s impact and injury history to Ovechkin’s ploys to knock Crosby off-balance and finally to Niskanen’s shot to the head — can lead you to conclude it was a dirty play of the worst kind: one designed to knock out a star player and influence the outcome of a game/series."
Michael Rand is who you are going to have defend your position?
