*** Official Lost Season 6 *** (2 Viewers)

I didn't hate last nights as much as some of you, but I agree that the Others are frustrating. But that's been the problem since they were first introduced to the series. They are a mysterious, casually brutal group of people with completely unknown motivations. Even now 100 episodes in we have no idea why they are doing anything. We've got a lot of peripheral answers about the island, about the "gods" of the island, but we still have no idea about the Others place in the scheme of things, and why they are so quick to attack and kill strangers. They'd rather play mind games rather than explain anything, which also doesn't make sense with the insular nature of the island as well. They are still just cutout villians, jackasses for jackasses sake. Even last night's episode. Why have Jack poison Sayid? They have never had any problem with just killing anyone they don't like out of hand. Why the sophistry? This kind of mysterious enemies worked OK back in season 2. But too much light has been shed on the rest of the show to make this anything but annoying.
Maybe Sayid is on the list and the Others have said they can't hurt/kill those on the list. Much like MIB and Jacob, they need convince another on the list to kill Sayid.

Neither Claire nor Kate said anything when Ethan busted out "You're 32 weeks and dilated 3 centimeters". Weird how he knew that, since they just walked in off the street after flying from Australia.
Because she was already hooked up to the monitors at that point and had been examined likely prior to him coming in?

I couldn't take Mac seriously at all.Ruined the entire episode for me.
I had to pause it a couple times to try and take him seriously. Was he actually the guard Kate hit in whatever episode?
Can't remember, but from his IMDB page, he had a one-episode appearance in 2007."Lost" .... Aldo (1 episode, 2007)... aka Lost: The Final Season (USA: sixth season title) - Not in Portland (2007) TV episode .... Aldo

Asian guy tells Jack (paraphrasing), "the same thing (darkness) happened to your sister (Claire)."Rousseau & Claire both pregnant & gave birth on the island. Both were separated from their babies, Alex & Aaron.Rousseau lives in isolation, sets traps around the island. Rousseau is killed. Now, we see Claire, appearantly in isolation, show up. Jin & Kate encounter traps in the jungle. Did Claire set them, & how did she come across her new survival skills? So, in essence, is Claire the new Danielle Rousseau? MIB took the form of Locke... maybe the island just needs new bodies to fill familiar roles whenever things seem to change (people leave, die, etc.) Just throwing darts here.ETA: Also, in the "flash sideways/alternate timeline," Claire does not give up Aaron to the adoptors. If she keeps him, he won't be "raised by another."
I was going to post basically the same thing. Add this on to Charlie saying "I was supposed to die" and it seems like the universe is still "course-correcting."
Add in the quote by Claire "and you didn't have to do what you did" (or close to that). Was that about her taking her to the lady's house...the hospital...or about somehow knowing that Kate comes back for her later?

And tell me Im not the only one who thought we would see some people from the island open the door when Claire went to see who was adopting the kid?

Not that I'm arguing against any of you but I'd be curious if you went back through all the LOST threads and looked at the responses after the 2nd or 3rd episodes and see what the responses were. I'd be willing to bet they would mirror what's being posted now about last nights episode. And true to form, every year, the writers reveal they have a purpose for doing what they are doing and bring it all together in the end with incredible wtf moments. My point? Sit back, enjoy the show and quick analyzing it to death. I gave up on that after season 3 or 4 and it's been a lot more enjoyable.
this is kind of where I am. I follow the threads and enjoy the theories, but I don't think I can keep playing the guessing game. I'm just watching it for what it is at this point and I'm waiting to see the outcome.

I disagree. I'll go back and rewatch, but what I got from it last night, they just wheeled her in hysterical, they say something to Ethan, he turns around, and busts this knowledge out like he's been her doctor all along. There was then a momentary "What the hell?" glance from Kate and Claire both, but then they forgot it and moved on. I could be wrong, but that's what I saw. Kinda reminded me of The Shining, or something. "You're my doctor, and you always have been."

Im pretty sure we never even saw Ethan until she was already on the bed, in a gown, hooked up to the baby monitor.

I enjoyed the episode last night :(

And the lack of communication thing has been going on since, oh, the plane crashed on the island in S1. Even among the survivors, they couldn't communicate worth anything. Surprised that some are getting all upset over it in S6.

And tell me Im not the only one who thought we would see some people from the island open the door when Claire went to see who was adopting the kid?
:( Although, I figured it would have been someone from the island or that we'd seen in a previous flashback/forward.

This. Pretty sure he even looked at a chart, which would have had all those details on it.

As I said I loved the show but that epsiode was awful because not only did it barely move the plot ahead (as someone else said earlier it could have been done in a two minute conversation not an entire ep) and for the first time since Jack's "tatoo" episode I was bored....even forwarded parts on my tivo which I have never done!

Did not expect such a stinker in the last season when they should be addressing real issues/questions - this has Sopranos let down writte all over it!!!

:hey: Although, I figured it would have been someone from the island or that we'd seen in a previous flashback/forward.
Well, we DID only see the wife half of that couple... The husband split before they got there. Still a chance that he's someone we know.

And tell me Im not the only one who thought we would see some people from the island open the door when Claire went to see who was adopting the kid?
I didn't think that. But when the police came in to the hospital room, I'm surprised that the detective wasn't Ana Lucia's mom, or that the patrol officer wasn't Lucia's former partner.

Or just AL back on the job after getting back from Australia...though, other circumstances obviously prevented a few things there.

My wife and I burst out laughing when we saw Mac from It's Always Sunny...

Awful episode. I am glad my child will grow up in a world without this wretched show.

(Samurai playing with baseball)

Jack: "What's that?"

Samurai: "It's a baseball."
So Samurai figures out that Sayid is "infected", and must be dealt with accordingly. He tells Jack to give Sayid the pill, without explaining to him what it is. If Samurai knows that Jack knows that he's put Sayid through the wringer, how can he expect him to just give him the pill without explanation? And of course, he doesn't, and they have to go through the whole rigamorale of Jack talking to Sayid, Jack trying to take it himself, Samurai finally explaining that he's infected (which isn't that hard to explain, really), and then dropping the Claire bomb on him. Why didn't Samurai just explain all of this up front? You kind of have to, no?Ridiculous.

ETA: Why doesn't anyone explain why they're being kept in the Temple, and what (Norwood, presumably) is being kept out? Wouldn't that take like 5 seconds? "Yeah, there's this crazy ####### black smoke thing that tries to wreck our ####. Maybe you've seen it before. We use this black powder to keep him at bay. It's probably best that you stay in here." One of the fatal flaws of this show, IMO, is that people don't communicate with each other in a realistic manner. Shoddy writing, IMO.

And don't get me started on the Claire ex machina ending at the end. C'mon.
I suppose you have a problem with Three's Company too then...

Def a slow episode overall. But I can handle the temple scenes for now. Yeah, all the questions stink, but whatever. I'm sick of the Sawyer/Juliette story. Hopefully Sawyer gets past this quickly, very quickly.

What do you think happened to the ants on the island after the bomb went off? Were they transported to some ant farm, awaiting a cruel fate? Or maybe they're outside the L.A. airport munchin' on some Lik-M-Aids Walt dumped on the curb?

Same here on both counts. Expected to see more cameo's, although the Ethan one was good. I expect we'll be getting little cameo's like that probably every episode in the L AX reality.

Great episode last night. Most likely filled with a bunch of clues that we cannot piece together yet. Watch, listen and observe. Free will is the way, to not being lost.

Thought it was slow too and I've never cared for the Kate/Sawyer angst stuff either, but I was kind of expecting it to be slow this time after the 2 hour premier last week. Mac from Always Sunny was pretty jarring too. And no surprise at the end that Claire was the one setting traps.

I do love how they are at least trying to tie some of those early episodes and questions together. Sayid being infected goes back all the way to season 1 & 2 with Rousseau's backstory and the time flash with Jin we saw last year where the rest of her team went into the temple and got infected. Not too mention the "infection" that was mentioned time and again with Desmond in the hatch or when Claire started to remember when she disappeared.

It sure looks like Claire is "infected" by Danielle. Sayid certainly didn't act like Sayid when he was being "tested". He's taken much worse abuse and barely winced. Why is he now whimpering like a little girl? Is he infected by Alex (or possibly Charlie) who might react that way?

:lmao:"The sickness" surrounding the events of Rousseau has always been a loose thread, imo. I've never known what to make of all that, but they are beginning to explain it.

We have three data points of references now with the first three episodes. We have "seen" how many references to things that happened on the island that now happened in "real" life time? Point is, get ready for more of these references that are going to pop up now that the island is presumably not in play anymore. Further point is, What Happened, Happened, and Dead is Dead. We have seen everything happen in the "real" life time line all ready however we have not seen how these events happen. With that in mind we have more questions that pop up. Who does Jack save from the island? Could it be Locke or might it still be Ben? Does Kate still raise Aaron or does Claire? Does Sawyer still meet Juliet off island and fall in love? Do Jin and Sun still have a baby since she was impregnated on the island? This season is not going to answer questions but tell us that everything that has happened has already happened to the Losties AND that no matter what kind of questions there might be, answers do not tell the whole story. Going back to Danielle's message through the radio and how many iterations that cycled through. Maybe that is how many iterations Jacob and MIB have been fighting it off on the island.

That episode was boring as hell. Nothing happened.
:lmao: i just really dislike the direction they are going with this... too many new characters... too much flash sideways.... too much weird crap with these new temple people... too much sawyer/juliet stuff.... the writers had said we might be let down by all of this... put me in that camp for now.

Cant wait until they start answering some of these questions in season 15
you mean in the movie.. in 3d... that you have to pay a premium to go see... but wait!.. the real answers are in the deleted scenes on the Blu Ray exclusive DVD.. available for $30.99... but even more answers will be revealed if you get the blu ray + entire seasons 1-6 in a comprehensive total Lost DVD kit for $130.99

Not argung the point about the drop off to episode 2 - in a normal show in a normal season. This was supposed to be the "roller coaster" ride as each show was going to be face paced towards a conclusion. The "how can they cram so much in just the episodes that remain?" The "producers can't show a single frame becasue each frame is so revealing!"And then waste 55 minutes last night. And expect 2-3 more like last night.

Id be more curious to go through all of the threads and see the percentage that "The Dude" actually did like.

You're off track.Danielle, Alex and/or Charlie aren't "infecting" anybody.

Miles - We'll be at the food court if you need us.
two good ones by him - something like "as you can see Hurley is the leader now so everyhting is great!" :lmao: My anger is with so many questions/issues/plotlines to wrap up this season how do they throw an empty episode like lst night that went nowhere? For the 1st time I am concerned!

I don't want to live is a sideflashing universe that contains no Taller Ghost Walt.
"It's actually Walt Frazier!"1) Miles is hilarious. Give him his own show, and dispense with the rest of this nonsense.2) I realize that the obvious non-communication to move the story along has been around since the beginning, IMO it's a product of shoddy writing through and through. Which is a shame, because obviously it's a pretty great concept for the show. Everyone's always clamoring for "answers", and honestly I don't care how quickly or slowly they're revealed, I just want the way in which they're reached to make logical sense.

Like someone else said above. Right now, and out of context, last night looked like somewhat of an empty episode. I have a feeling when all is said and done that last night will be the catalyst for many answers we're going to get.

You're going to love episode 15, Braille.

This is funny because I am getting the sense that you must be told everything in order for things to have any kind of conclusive ending. As far as communicating goes, think about the characters asking all of the questions that have been arisen in discussions that have not been on screen to have taken place when the camera is not on them. Must the characters ask and answer every question on camera in order to have the writers be good writers and for the show to be a good writing? The answer is "no". The writers have taken liberty that the viewer is going to assume that most questions have been asked an answered already albeit not on camera. Is that too much to believe? Or, is it in the common belief that these characters are borderline re(slowed down)tarded to not ask common questions? I will take the opinion that these characters have gone through the Q & A's behind the scenes. Take that approach and the show becomes so much more than what is on the screen. However, the show appears to be about "free will" to a point so you and others that must be told everything have that right. The show is as good as ever and the puzzle is getting put into place at a pace that is on par.

To back track a bit I was wondering something. How come Jacob was killed by a knife but bullets bounced off MIB inside Locke's body? And how did MIB use Locke when Locke 's body was on the beach ?

:tumbleweed:

Not sure but a knife is a much more primitive weapon than a gun is. Might have something to do with it. Kind of like, Ben could not kill Widmore with modern technology but if Ben had something really primitive, which might not exist anymore, he might be able to kill him. In other words, who knows.

Perhaps Jacob/MIB aren't the same type of being.I'm not sure bullets bounced off MIB. When the Mercs were shooting at Smokey bullets had no effect, so perhaps as he transforms into Smokey, he's immune to bullets.ETA: IMO, MIB isn't "using" Locke's body for anything. Locke is dead and his body is on the island. Many of us here are of the belief that if there's a dead body on hte island, Smokey can then use his "magic" to appear as that person. Not actually inhabit the person and possess that person's now-deceased physical form.

I'm trying to think back to when Sayid was "caught" by those Iraqi people in London and they were torturing him, to get him to admit to being a torturer. I'm pretty sure he screamed then, as well.

I also recall Sayid also being “electrocuted” by Danielle when she had him prisoner and him screaming in pain. Interesting the Danielle also used a similar form of electrocution on Sayid. I wonder if she knew about the “test” the Dogan was using.

Speaking of which, WTF is up with that test. Sprinking ash/powder on someone’s torso, blowing it off and then burning him with a hot poker? What, exactly, does that test?

Also good to see "BLT" from Degrassi High make a cameo with Aldo.
