Scott Norwood is evil incarnate.LinkA bit late to the party, can someone explain the whole Norwood/Lost thing to me

This might have been mentioned already, but I read a theory somewhere that anytime a dead person appears with white clothing (such as shoes) it's Jacob. Otherwise it's MIB.Well, maybe there is a trinity of factions involved then.1. Jacob2. MIB3. Scott Norwood (aka Smokey, aka Evil Locke)The producers on Jimmy Kimmel said that john locke is not the MIB so this episode makes no senseAs Sack mentioned above, they played with their words. They said he wasn't posessing him, i.e. real Locke's dead body has been in the coffin the whole time. MIB was appearing as Locke, so technically they were correct. Think of MIB/Smokey as Yemi. He appeared to Eko and Locke as Yemi was before he died. If he posessed Yemi, then he would have looked like a moldy old corpse. That is another reason why I still think Sayid, real Sayid, is alive, but I am not sure until we see how he acts. Maybe Jacob posesses bodies, no idea, but MIB/Smokey does not.
Why would MIB show up to Kate as a horse? Is he in to that kind of thing? This might have been mentioned already, but I read a theory somewhere that anytime a dead person appears with white clothing (such as shoes) it's Jacob. I always thought the horse vision was a nod to Twin Peaks, but I could be wrong. Why would MIB show up to Kate as a horse? I think that makes perfect sense when the visions are people. As many have mentioned, I really hope they do a good job with the DVDs after the series is over. It's just Truck trying to fish the Lost thread. Ignore it.A bit late to the party, can someone explain the whole Norwood/Lost thing to meI don't get it either.
Bud Light had one, although on the surface it was just about a plane crash where they were more interested in the contents of the beverage cart (Bud Light) than a working radio (which they later turned to music). On a side note, Bud Light also had a commercial about a team of scientists tracking an asteroid heading toward Earth. The scientists were led by the guy that plays Dr Pierre Chang (aka Dr. Marvin Candle, Dr. Mark Wickmund and Dr. Edgar Halliwax.)anybody catch the LOST based commercial? Didn't get to hear it, but could tell it was based on the show...

Not THE God. A god.Agreed, although my take on it was that it probably wasn't THE devil, but that they're angels on each side battling it out.I got this vibe as well.Lots of good stuff here. When Smokie Locke says he wants to go home, first thing I thought of was Devil trying to re-enter heaven.
To plant the fact that he was going to have to die to get them all to come back, hence letting MIB inhabit him.Sorry if I missed/misunderstood earlier in the thread, but what is the explanation for the seemingingly paradoxical scenario of 2007 MIB-Locke telling Richard to tell 2004 time-shifting Locke that he's going to have to die?

I don't think you're following. Isn't this a paradox? He's not inhabiting him. He's taken his form, so to speak. A shapeshifter.I don't think you're following. Isn't this a paradox? To unpack further, MIB is Locke in shape-shifting form. He knows that Real Locke is jumping through time and in the same timeline. Instead of saying "oh hey, pay no attention to that other guy that looks like me", he instructs Richard to go tell Real Locke that he has to die, which starts the whole process to begin with. No?I don't think you're following. Isn't this a paradox? I've seen a few people mention Jacob "inhabiting" or "possessing" someone, do we have any evidence that he can actually do this or is it just speculation? Even Norwood can't actually do this, he can just take their form. This might have been mentioned already, but I read a theory somewhere that anytime a dead person appears with white clothing (such as shoes) it's Jacob. Otherwise it's MIB.
Which would mean MIB is causing the event to happen after it has already happened. Paradox. This is assuming that MIB actually causes the event, though you can argue that he doesn't since Locke doesn't actually kill himself as suggested from MIB because Ben does it for him.To unpack further, MIB is Locke in shape-shifting form. I'm buying into that theory until proven wrong(which could be as early as tonight). There just seems to be to much evidence to support it so I'll roll with that theory.I've seen a few people mention Jacob "inhabiting" or "possessing" someone, do we have any evidence that he can actually do this or is it just speculation? There's probably a Katherine Heigl movie on some channel tonight.kaa said:I'm glad the writers have been able to keep everything clear and not make things convoluted at all.
I kind of agree with this, but Lehigh98 is correct that I don't believe we have gotten evidence of Jacob appearing as someone else. Even before MIB told Ben he wished he hadn't seen him in smokey form, Lindelof and Cuse in an interview said that smokey did in fact appear as Yemi and others even though we all kind of knew that he was Yemi when he killed Eko.harryhood said:I'm buying into that theory until proven wrong(which could be as early as tonight). 1. Where have the temple/Japanese dude and his folks been? at the temple
2. Is Jacob inhabiting Sayid now...or is it really Sayid? If not...then who/where is Jacob? we dont know yet
3. Is Jacob/MIB good vs evil...evil vs. good...or something else? we dont know yet
4. What did Japanese dude mean when he said the spring "wasn't right"? How about when he said that if Sayid died that they'd all be in trouble? It wasnt clear water. It didnt heal his wound immediately. Not sure if his hand was healed later when we saw him or not. Not sure about sayid yet but being he was one of the people Jacob wanted back on the island, he probably needs to be alive for whatever Jacob needs . . .
5. Does Rose still have cancer? we dont know yet
6. What are the rules about who can/is allowed to hurt/kill Jacob or MIB? we dont know yet
7. Jacob told MIB "they are coming". Who? more likely than not, the people Jacob made sure he touched off island . . . i.e Jack etc
8. Where in the world is Widmore and how is he involved in all of this? we dont know yet

As I've been catching up on like 8 pages on and off this morning, this is the first mention of Widmore I believe. I was about to post a question like this. What made me think of him right away was the posting of the Jacob/Nemesis scene on the beach a few pages back. To me, that scene, along with the Ben/Widmore bedroom scene (OK that sounds gross), are easily two of the most fascinating scenes of the series. The beach scene might go down as an all time great by this summer.1. Where have the temple/Japanese dude and his folks been?

I think the color of that water, and the shock that it wasn't clear, is going to be very important. Jacob's spirit perhaps?I kind of agree with this, but Lehigh98 is correct that I don't believe we have gotten evidence of Jacob appearing as someone else. Perhaps, since Jacob is always wearing white, he's "pure". With his death, the water was no longer clear and the folks in the Temple are no longer protected from Smokey.I think the color of that water, and the shock that it wasn't clear, is going to be very important. The Jacob/MIB and Ben/Widmore scene were very similar. While it didn't state it plainly, both appear to be playing by some set of "rules" that only they know.As I've been catching up on like 8 pages on and off this morning, this is the first mention of Widmore I believe. The Ben/Widmore storyline needs some revisiting/closure, IMO.
