So TMIB is going to try and recruit Kate next? What kind of apple can he offer her?

The impression I got at the end was he didn't expect Kate to be there but didn't have a problem with it. It's like he got a bonus gift with her coming along.Anybody else have the same feeling about his reaction to seeing Kate or am I off base there?

Everyone who is complaining - I hear ya, but:

1. The producers have said multiple times "Enjoy the ride"

2. It's a sci fi show....the fact that they have so many people thinking this entire thing "is believable" is what makes the show so great

3. There are still like 13 episodes left

4. It seems (to me at least) like this is one 6 season long fable, and there will be some moral at the end of it - and I'm fine with that.

For now, I'm still drinking the kool aid......the producers have delivered for 5 seasons, no reason to believe they aren't going to do it again.

This...plus, I love all of the people criticizing what is seen as pretty darn good writing as if they could do better. Somehow their theories and ideas are better than the creators.Hilarious.

I'm not sure what people are expecting. These first six to seven episodes are all about setting up the eventual climax of the show. This is pretty much how most tv shows work. Last nights episode wasn't "epic" by any means, but it created the framework for JacobHurley's imagination/Unlocke showdown.

I agree on Eko. Actually, based on MIB's actions this season, I think his questioning of Eko and killing him makes a lot more sense. Now that I think about it, I think MIB always wanted Locke and killing Eko removed an impediment to Locke. We know early on, maybe even in Season 1 that MIB/smokey picked Locke by appearing as something beautiful when others saw the smoke cloud.

Can't remember the exact Korea storyline but once back from the island didn't Sun have some interaction with Widmore? Business? Maybe he was working with her father when he was running the company?Maybe the reason Jin was being sent to LA with that cash was to make a payment to Widmore from his FIL (Sun's dad) who had some sort of business arrangement with Widmore. When the cash was confiscated at the airport and he didn't have it, Widmore's minons (including Kearny again) took him hostage?

Wah. I had the same problem while reading the Dark Tower series as it was being written. Years went by in between books. When a new one came out, it was very difficult to remember what was going on in the last one. It didn't make me appreciate the series any less.

Have you not noticed that the ancillary folks, i.e. the tailies, the temple folks, the freighter folks, the helicopter folks, etc. tend to not last very long?I think you are assuming way too much that Eko was supposed to be a key person throughout the entire series. He was a very popular character, but that doesn't mean he was upper tier. Locke saw smokey in a way no one else did before we even knew Eko existed. Eko was the most key of all of the tailies, but where are the rest of them? We see Cindy and Bernard for a second every 10 episodes or more. Miles is the only freighter person left (Lapidus came back a second time) and he is comic relief. I think Miles still has a role to play and maybe Cindy and Bernard do as well, but they aren't Jack, Locke, Sawyer, Kate, Sayid or Hurley. I think of Eko as a Charlie, Ben or Desmond, a guy who was crucial to the periods he was around, but a guy who could disappear for long stretches.Anyway, as you said, you are just here to complain, so you will see Eko getting killed as a story hole no matter how you look at it.

The writers have never let me down, so I think it'll be OK. This flash sideways means something. I'm just going to enjoy the ride and not ##### about every thing that I think they should be telling me.

I like the idea of the sideways stories kind of paralleling the on island ones. Kate just met up with Claire as she just did in sideways land, so their interaction on island should be interesting. I agree with both posts about Jin. Losing the cash is probably why he was locked up since he wasn't able to make the payment.If Jin hooks up with Sayid in the next episode, then I would say we need to watch for the parallels even more. Not sure what the Jack and Locke meeting and Locke not going for consult in sideways land means.

these same viewers would also be the ones #####ing and moaning if certain segments of the story weren't resolved. nobody is forcing anyone to watch the show, if it isn't doing it for you then move on to other shows that are.

Absolutely. The one thing I don't get about Claire and her turn to evil is that she was nothing like Sayid and in no way before her "capture" by MIB as Christian Sheppard was she a bad person. I could see where a test would say that Sayid was out of balance on the evil side, but not Claire. MIB had to have done something to Claire. Even the parallels to Danielle don't seem to make sense as Danielle as whacked out as she was, was not a bad person at heart. She didn't kill Sayid like Claire has killed the temple folks.I am interested to see more of Claire and how she got turned because I remember a long time ago when Locke saw her with MIB/Christian in what he thought was Jacob's cabin. Claire's intrigue was the entire shtick about her getting all these weird messages from the palm reader that she MUST raise Aaron.Now they've pretty well eliminated that story line.. leaving us clueless.And we've gone multiple episodes without any mention of widmore, christian, pierre Chang, Desmond (barely mentioned), Penny, etc.great story telling here... just effing great.

I assume he lured her away via an image of her father, and while doing that separated her from Aaron, and then convinced her that the Others kidnapped Aaron, and that set her on revenge with further prodding.

What eliminated? She didn't raise Aaron, and now she's helping Smokey break free of the island. If she had held on to Aaron and didn't follow Christian in the woods, Smokey's goal would that much harder to accomplish.

True, but he's got some special powers to travel through time. The rules don't apply to Faraday.

What if the Flash Sideways are the "new" lives/wishes granted by the MIB (or Jacob?) Samurai could have his son live but could never see him again. Sayid could have Nadia alive again, but would not be with her. There's always a catch, but as the season plays out we get to see what each 815'er sacrificed for their "wish."

thiis is exactly what I was saying...and I think that somehow, some way, they're going to remember what happened and "fix" things (again) in the "flash-sideways" universe...as I said, i don't think it was the bomb that sunk the island and changed the future, I think it is smokey that changes the future and sinks the island in the past...

The deal with Sayid is that no matter what the natural order of things are, he is never able to retain the girl. That scenario can play out in many different ways but the end result is the same, he and this girl aren't together.

If he gets the girl, then the world has turned on orbit, which can't happen.

I'm losing patience with this season very quickly. They hyped this week's episode to no end in commercials stating something like"we can't show you too much because it will give away all the answers that are revealed".What answers were revealed exactly?

When has the hype built up in the commercials ever lived up to it? Aside from maybe season finales?What answers do you want revealed exactly? Keep in mind that there's still 12 hours worth of episodes coming and they can't answer everything now because they still have those 12 hours of show to fill. If you get answers now why would you keep watching? We're not even half-way through the season yet and people are already pissing and moaning that they're not getting answers quick enough. This is unbelievable to me. This show's always been about a slow burn that weaves many intricate and interlacing stories together that then give answers. I get the feeling that many of the people who are becoming frustrated want a big TA-DA! moment every episode so they can check a question off the list. This show's never done anything like that, so why would they start now in the first third of the final season? There's still plenty of time for the reveals to come since you can tell they're building towards the climax.
