*** Official Lost Season 6 *** (1 Viewer)

So if Patrick Duffy emerges from the shower and it was just all a dream, where will people stand?
 A couple years ago I was thinking that in the end, someone, Hurley perhaps, would wake up from like a coma and we find out the whole thing has been a dream. But then I got to thinking that Hurley isn't intelligent enough to dream all the scientific and other stuff that has been shown. Nobody else made sense so I just put it away then last year thought maybe Locke could be the one that dreamt it all up. That would suck

But, it's not too far out there to think they might do something where all of the last 6 seasons has actually been the "sideways" reality and the sideways stuff from this year was the real reality all along.

We're debating at work on what the ratings will look like for the finale. They're saying the numbers won't be that great, because no one will want to try and jump in and figure the show out if they haven't been watching all along.

I'm thinking that it's going to be one of those cultural events that is going to draw people that don't normally watch.

O/U 20 million viewers, which side do you take?

That really is a possibility, imo.

so when Jack dies who takes over , Kate or Hurley?
mark me down for Sawyer
The last several weeks, the show has been starting to lead us in the direction that Jack would take over for Jacob. Since that seemed too obvious, I thought maybe Sawyer would get the gig. Obviously that didn't happen, but if Jack dies in some heroic act of sacrifice for the island or some such, Sawyer would be my guess to take over as well.

What the Lost that's on Saturday night? I'm going out of town and going to have to watch everything via DVR when i get home Sunday night. I wonder if the Saturday thing (whatever it is) and the recap starting at 7 Sunday are worth watching.
It's the pilot episodes
That are also enhanced with the pop-ups. I'll be watching, simply to see if there's stuff in there that's significant now and because those first 2 hours were some of the most compelling TV in a long, long time.
Have they ever confirmed...or will they confirm...that it was smokie that comes down and hits the engine causing it to blow up?
Confirmed? Heck, I had never even heard this! IMO, it was just an engine blowing up after the plane crashed, but I'll watch it closely.

If Jack dies, who gives sawyer the drink of water? Once the fire is out we will never see jacob again.

I don't think these writers are going to have trouble finding work going forward.
Well, Flash Forward just got cancelled . . .
Yea and that's a shame, another really good show I've enjoyed.
The past 5 or 6 episodes (I haven't seen last night's yet) have been really good, and much stronger than some of the mid-season episodes. I'm a little upset it got cancelled, but when you're going up against Survivor for most of the season, it's a bit of a losing proposition, IMO.Apparently the show was based on the 1999 novel Flashforward by science fiction writer Robert J. Sawyer, so if you're left wanting more you might be able to get some closure by reading the book.

I heard a rumor about it long ago and ended up rewatching. If you slow it down or pause right before the thing...you see a black cloud coming down quickly to the engine, hitting it, then it exploding.

Ah yes, like Jacob is dead now. I'm a little slow this morning.

I heard a rumor about it long ago and ended up rewatching. If you slow it down or pause right before the thing...you see a black cloud coming down quickly to the engine, hitting it, then it exploding.
I suppose it's not impossible, but it doesn't really follow Smokey's MO.I'll have to re-watch, but jet engines naturally suck in air and what's shown on TV could likely be the engine intaking some of the smoke that was naturally around before it blew up. Thanks for the tip though, I'll definitely watch this part more closely.

It came down quickly from the sky...there was no way it was just sucking in smoke.

I think the producers have said that it was a vfx error.

16.26 million viewers.

A colleauge bought the Entertainment Weekly "LOST Series Finale Preview" magazine and I've been reading it. Doc Jensen was on-set for the final shoot and actually there for what is part of the final scene. Here's an excerpt, with a bit of context. It's 3 am on the Oahu set of Lost. Many cast members are there and Naveen Andrews has a guitar and is playing the tune while Terry O'Quinn is singing part of Purple Rain.

Words can't describe what happens next—mostly because tonight's work includes something we are forbidden to describe: a long, pivotal sequence that's part of the final 10 minutes of Lost's series finale, airing Sunday, May 23, at 9 pm. The location is a setting any hardcore Lost fan would know. Nearly two-dozen cast members are in attendance, including several who aren't in the scene but wanted to be here fore the experience.
. . .
. . . Lost fans will likely have a similar reaction. The scene is bold, implicitly clear yet open to interpretation, and bring-boxes-of-tissues emotional. It seems that this groundbreaking, game-changing drama intends to leave the airwaves in a heartbreaking, head-spinning blaze of "Wow!" and "Wha?"
I'm intrigued and scared at the same time, but looking forward to it, regardless.

Agreed. But it still makes absolutely no sense for FLocke to clue Ben in on his plan, other than to provide a cliff hanger plot element for the audience. Maybe its a bit nitty, but it really took me out of the moment, and I typically don't have issues with that in Lost, so it puzzled me. :goodposting: :goodposting:
What he wanted was to kill all the candidates and his opposition. He needed Ben for that. Now he thinks he can destroy the island (which, in theory, should kill the people on it, too). He may not have much need for Ben for that part.
Right. I agree that with his new plan, Ben seems irrelevant. My point is, why clue Ben in on that? I guess you guys are saying that there doesn't appear to be any way that Ben can harm FLocke or stop his new plan, so he doesn't really care what Ben knows. He's essentially told him, "hey you can hang around with me until I blow up this island I promised you, or you can get lost, doesn't matter to me."One last question, when did Ben say "so who do you want me to kill next?" (paraphrasing, I can't remember the exact dialogue) Before or after FLocke told him the new plan?

Simply amazed that some on here can say they think the ending will be good when this season has almost entirely ignored most of the past 5 seasons barring a few inconsequential mysteries such as the skeletons. This entire season has lead up to a finale that I can basically guarantee will not only leave a vast majority of the mystery and wonder unexplained but will also prove once and for all that the writers had no idea what they were doing. They went on and on and when they finally had to wrap up the show they took it in an entirely different and divergent direction and barely maintained the narrative thread of the previous seasons.

They wasted an entire episode telling us about Jacob/MIB, when Jacob just told us virtually the same thing in two minutes... and much better.

I loved most of the journey but the ending has been underwhelming.

That's the cool thing about opinions. They're all different. With the exception of two things this season 1) Lapidus' "Well I guess she got her voice back" line and 2) the glow of the cave (and the accompanying music swell), which were both pretty cheesy, I disagree with all you haters. I think this season has been good, and I like where they have taken the show. I like the deeper meanings behind things, and having to think about things, not having them spoonfed to me. I think it's the best show that has ever been on television. I think that because of all the influences that have gone into it, and all the mysteries they have created. And you know what? If they don't payoff the Hurley bird, or who shot from the 2nd outrigger, I could really give two ####s. Once the show is over, a lot of you haters will realize that there is nothing remotely as close to as good as this show on anywhere. Sunday will be bitter sweet. I really want to know what happens, but I don't want it to be over.My .02.

It is possible to be disspointed in the direction of the show and to be critical of it without being a "hater". Its unfortunate that things must be so black and white for some people. My .02

I already switched to watch Fringe, which is much better than Lost. Fringe season finale was this week but you can catch up with 2 seasons before it returns in the fall.

Fringe is very good but it is not on the same level as Lost.

I am looking forward to the enhanced pilot tonight. I know when I re watched I noticed a lot of stuff because of the knowledge I had from watching the first 5 seasons. I am hoping the enhancements will show us even more. I am borderline to geeked up for this and the finale. I am not quite shaking but I am close.

Don't pass judgment until you see BB Season 3. LOST is a completely different show though (and one of my favorites). Great in many different respects and just brilliantly put together. This season though, I'm enjoy BB much more than LOST. I'm glad they're finally ending this thing.

While I firmly believe that for the first 2 to 2.5 seasons that these guys were flying by the seat of their pants, I have to give credit for the opening scene of the show being Jack in the bamboo field, essentially the same location that the protector guards the light.

I still think this is the best show that's ever been on TV. Like it's been mentioned, the first 3 seasons were so good, that it would have been hard to maintain that level for 3 more. As long as they don't blow the finale, I'm sure I'll stay in this camp
:goodposting: No doubt the last 2-3 season weren't as good as the first 3, but that would have been a mighty lofty task.I'm happy with the show.
