The DT series are by far my favorite books and while I did not like the ending of DT7 I completely understood it and thought it made total sense. I look at LOST and I have the same feelings. I have to say the DT was better simply because I believe LOST was based on Kings world/books and that with all the similarities and King/DT easter eggs through out the show that LOST had its ending written for them by King and the writers did nothing to separate themselves. Roland went one way and Jack went the other. Thats how I see it.

Ilona? You're upset with the finale because she wasn't there? Honestly? All of the characters you mentioned are peripheral characters except for Walt (more on him in a bit). They played their parts but they weren't pivotal in the lives of the survivors' ability to move on. Of the primary characters, the only one on your list who wasn't there was Walt and we can explain that logically by saying the actor who plays him now looks like he's about 30 and it would skew the story to bring him back. Or we can explain it within the story confines by saying that he wasn't there because Michael wasn't there. Either way works for me. As far as the others, I honestly think you're nitpicking and you're reaching to find flaws.

I honestly think you're making excuses for everything to justify your opinion.Like Shannon was pivotal in Sayid's ability to move on. If they wanted to be consistent it would have been Nadia, you know the woman he killed for.

Just looked on Amazon and noticed that King went back and updated the first book to make it fit better with the resolution of the series. Wonder what the LOST producers would change if they could now that they know the end.

It is not a great impact but it is a show that is better, to me, than The Wire (never seen it).

Simply put, The Wire means nothing to me. Don't watch it, don't care for the content, will not dwell on it when it leaves. That is the point. People Flocke to similar interests. Like Chris Rock said, "a drug dealer and a religious person in a relationship will not work out." The island, the plane crash, that is what bonded these people and why reconnecting with them is the most important part of their life... even if/when in death.

The Wire is about the relationships people create with each other, and how they deal with the (usually harsh) world that they're living in. Love, loss, betrayal, selflessness, greed, etc.Lots of similarities to Lost. Or maybe you just hate black people.

Nope. I'm just responding to what I watched. And I'm hardly upset that characters who weren't vital to the primary relationships on the show weren't in the church at the end. If that bothered you, that's fine. I don't consider the fact that I wasn't bothered by their absences (many of whom had no business being there anyway) to be making an excuse.

Seems plausible. The Eloise part of the story is frustratingly ambiguous.

Ana Lucia shot her.If you were able to "pass your test" find redemption, you were allowed to pass on to the afterlife (Heaven). Michael was not able to, and is stuck as a "ghost" on the island forever.

Boone was a lead character in Season 1. Yeah, he was kind of important.As far as Rose and Bernard being there, I think that was simply the writers including them for the fans. It's not like they were prominently featured in the reunion scene.I'm sorry if the fact Charles Widmore wasn't in the church at the end didn't bother me liked it appeared to be bothering you. If you want to believe that means I'm making excuses for the episode, so be it.

loved the star wars refernces too. That article posted earlier disparaged the writing because of hurley saying he "had a bad feeling about this" but that was an awesome star wars line right after taking about yoda.

If so, what family or relationship issues did they have that caused Jacob to select them like he did the others? Or were they just part of the plane crash that happened to survive with the candidates?

If the latter, why were they in purgatory with the rest of them waiting for Jack to realize he was ready to move on?

Before I move onto page 92 (####)...wanted to bump this as it is one of my questions. In the first episode of season 6, we see the submerged island. What immediately followed that opening scene? Our first glimpse of the Sideways world (some would say purgatory)? I think I'd be ok with that since then I'd assume the underwater shot was in the Sideways realm. If it went to the Island "real time", I'm a bit miffed.

Okay was Widmore good or bad.........you don't know, which is the answer to about a million other questions. I am not fine with this. I enjoyed the finale, but I am not thrilled with it. I think this show had so much more potential and the writers are what gave it that potential. I just feel unsatisfied, I think I just went on a six year journey and a long the trip I encounter just great things that made me think, wonder and jones for answers. When the time for answers came I got a nice warm message and a kick in the balls. Oh well. C'est La Vie.

He said this in the pregame show as well.Ben was given a bit of liberty as well. I don't even know how it makes sense, but he said "Henry Gale" was supposed to be a guest role. And only in 3 episodes.

I think the popularity of Ben made them expand the #### out of the Others in Season 3.

I like the foot of the statue more if you think of the island as that last place before moving on. The whole "my name is Ozymandias king of kings, look upon my works ye mighty and despair" angle makes a lot of sense as they're all moving on the same way.

And the idea that it only ends once, everything until then is just progress, was talking more about life and death than about the candidates.

Lindelof - We're screwed, we didn't plan an ending to this show and all we got is Jack putting back in the bathtub plug to save the island.

Cuse - How about we show that when they die they all ended up happily ever after in heaven.

Lindelof - That's stupid, any show could do that. Imagine if 24 couldn't come up with an ending and just show that no matter whether terrorist attacks were stopped or not, everybody ends up happy is heaven? That's the biggest cop out I've ever heard of and renders what happens in the show meaningless.

Cuse - OK, how about we pretend that there's an alternative universe where the characters have better lives...but then we show that it's just purgatory before they go to heaven.

Lindehof - Hmmm, maybe you're onto something. We could fill up half of the last season with that garbage since we don't know what else to write.

Cuse - People will think we're geniuses! The religious people will love it and so will the romantics! They won't even think about that we fooled them with the lamest ending there is for a show!

They showed the submerged island after the Sideways Oceanic Flight hit turbulance and then recovered normal flight. I always assumed Sideways was some type of 'would have been' timeline if the island was not there.
