**** OFFICIAL **** LOST - The TV Series (2 Viewers)

This came up in a Q&A with Damon Lindouf (sp). I will hide in case everyone does not want to see it.

How did you come up with the specific numbers for Hurley?

Well, that is a big secret, and we are not going to reveal it. I think there is a lot of interest in what the numbers mean and how we came up with them. But what's amazing to me is that we think we're being very clever and hiding those numbers all over the show, prior to the "Numbers" episode, and already I know there are Web pages that have gone up that bust us on every single one that we've ever hid, and they find ones that we didn't even intentionally hide, ones that are in sort of the production design of the show. The only number was always sort of a key number was 23, and anybody who knows anything about Robert Anton Wilson or any of his writing can read into that what they will. That's an important number in terms of the scheme of the show.

Look at THIS PICTURE.  That is a MODERN washer and dryer set.
What if they're not a washer/dryer set??? :tinfoilhat: Seriously though. The guy's got an ancient computer system with a tapedrive mainframe and he's got a 2004 top of the line washer/dryer set?
the weapons looked modern too. Anyone have photos that we can post to an NRA site for an official date-stamp opinion?
I'm not a firearms expert but most "basic" firearms of today haven't changed significantly in the past 30 years or so. The handgun he had looked very similar to the ones that Jack, Sawyer, etc. have. And I believe it was in the preview for next week, he appeared to have an AK-47 (or variant thereof) and that gun hasn't changed in basic appearance in decades.

 edit: I know those washer and dryers were designed to have a retro look, but those are the brand new models that you can find in your local Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.
:lmao: Are you kidding me? You can barely see them.
I started to make a stupid post about being able to zoom in and read the model number through magnification. :bag: In all seriousness though, the main reason these stuck out to me as being new washing machines was the profile. Just had the same lines as a set of washer/dryers that stood out to me recently while walking through HD or Lowes. Much like this:

http://www.ajmadison.com/phpdocs/ajtest/it...p?sku=GHW9400PW

The ones I remember seeing before were shown on the floor in 2 colors: Orange and either a gray or some muted shade of purple.

Regardless, if these were older models, wouldn't they have big protruding dials instead of a more sleek appearance? In other words, I don't see any controls on the machines in this picture:

http://www.dieoxidiertenschweine.de/losts2c.jpg

which leads me to believe that it's a push button set-up. Not exactly something you'd see on a machine out of the 60's.
Or maybe, just maybe, the props person thoughts "eh, these look 70's-ish, no one will notice".
Good point, since they were really only shown for what a second, maybe two? Then again, the producers know how rabid fans are about it and how they TiVo the episodes so you'd think they wouldn't allow it to happen.

I think Walt is dead. Only dead people have "appeared" on the island (Jack's dad) and check out the photo on ABC's site for this season. Walt is not there!

Well obviously he's not in the photo. The Others kidnapped him. What do you think they're going to say, "Yeah, we got the kid we want to rule over the island, but we'll let you have him back to take promotional photographs."Please.

following that last post up:

The date of July 23 has special significance for Robert Anton Wilson. It was on July 23, 1973 that Wilson received a message from an extraterrestrial from the planet Sirius.
 and by 'last post' I mean, the post hidden about 20 posts ago.

things move fast here.

So does any of this have to do about the Illuminati?

Ah did you notice they have the new girl in the photo though. Walt will not be on this season and he is dead.

Followup in white, although I'm not sure why...

I would assume it is related to the Illuminati, a series written by him, about a secret society that secretly runs the world.

Fixed. Walt's not there because he's not on the island. The Others have him.
There is too much mystery surrounding Walt and his special powers to just kill him off before season 2 starts. Unless he will be a recurring role as a ghost but I doubt it.

ok, its been a while since I took physics, but correct me if I am wrong: A megnet's power can be increased and decreased with increased and decreased charge, respectivly.

Large Power supply = increase the Megnet strenght = plane crash
Electromagnets are coiled wires with currents running through them can produce a magnetic field that changes with the amount of current running through them. This requires a power source for the current. The reverse of this is a permenant magnet moving through coiled wires to produce current in the wires. This is how most generators work to produce electric current, usually through some other source of energy (water, combustion) moving the coil or the magnet.

9/21/05 - Ask AusielloFrom TVGuide.com

Exec producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse dropped what I thought was a pretty major spoiler in Sunday's New York Times. An article on Lost's second season ended with the duo ruling out three popular endgame theories: The castaways will not learn that they are part of some dastardly experiment, discover that they are in purgatory or wake up from a bad dream. "These guys get off the island," Cuse said. But then, in unison, they both added: "If it's an island." Hmmm…

Seriously, this is big, I think. Isn't that the girl that Jack was talking to in the Lounge before the flight? she went to sit in the TAIL??!?!?!No one else think this is super weird?

With the feeding frenzy going on in this thread, I wil ask what I asked about 10 pages ago . . . does anyone remember Desmond appearing in the first season at all?

Sorry...I was in Europe all summer, and missed the last, I dunno, 30 pages of the first season's thread.

No. I would have remembered someone call everyone "brotha".

There has been speculation since she appeared last season that everyone survived the plane crash and are on another part of the island.

Everyone except for all the dead ones they had to burn in the first episode...

No. I would have remembered someone call everyone "brotha".
He could easily have been in the background or at a bar or wherever but not necessarily in a speaking role. Like the way they showed Hurley winning the lottery on Japanese tv--he had nothing at all to do with the scene but they snuck him in.Maybe a customer in Kate's bank heist, etc. Only those that watched the whole series on DVD recently might recognize him.

Can anyone confirm or deny that the lettering on the hatch door "Quarantine" is the same type of lettering on the dynamite cases from the Black Rock?

Yeah, that is her. Since Adebisi from Oz is also going to be on the show this season I'm thinking that new characters will be introduced almost every episode.Could Adebisi be the black lady's husband who was also in the tail section?

Sicne we always read too much into these things...Think there's any significance to the licence plate 614 GJ5?
The 61 + 47 (G is the 7th letter of the alphabet) equals 108...not sure about J5
j is the tenth letter, plus 5, is 15... this is silly, you'll see this stuff every/anywhere if you look hard enuff
Just havin' fun my man, just havin' fun....

I thought Adebisi was a great character on Oz. That said I don't Rose's husband is a big enough role for him. He just seems to carry a lot of weight and I see that character as being a throw away. I'd much rather see him being the leader of the Others or something with some power/importance.
