I do have a couple questions:Why are the Others so scary? I know that they have obviously killed quite a few tail-enders, but from the shot it seemed like there were more tail-enders than Others and some of the Others were kids.Do you think that was all of the Others? In looking at the legs, I sure didn't think I saw MC Gainey and the male twins from the boat. They all looked like females or children or slender men.Was the Other kid with the teddy bear Walt? It didn't appear to me that any of the legs where his? They all looked caucasian to me, muddy and dirty, but caucasian.

She said she never got a chance to say goodbye and I would feel a little bad too if someone I just tried to screw might have just died. There was definitely some tension/feelings between the two, but I think she would still rather shag Jack, but just feels bad about Sawyer.Re: Kate/Sawyer, it sure sounds like it....or wants to be anyway.

I think the child carrying the teddy bear was Danielle’s son, who she said was taken. Of course she's been on the island for 16 so maybe she wasn't pregnant when she arrived?

I would hate to see any kind of love triangle save one with three chicks involved but with Michelle Rodriguez's character "flirting" with Sawyer and Sawyer "flirting" with her and now this news about Kate and Sawyer a love triangle is inevitable. I like Mr. Ecko so far...but I still think he might be a surviving Nigerian drug smuggler...Also, there are 5 tail enders alive that we know of...we don't know if they killed all the missing 18...

Crap? The focus is on the rafters and the tailies. I see a plot here and not sure how others don't. The plot is that the tailies are trying to join up with the original group. On their trek, they are trying to avoid the Others. Michael is desperate to find Walt.How do you not see this plot?

Liked this episode. We learned more about Jin & Sun, more about the tailies, more about the Others, and there was character development of Ana Lucia and Eko.I realize it's blasphamy here, but I didn't think Kate looked very good last night. The closeups didn't do anything for her.Strong episode, IMO.Looking at the symbols, we now have three. Which programs are they linked to? That may tell us more about the 18 missing tailies.

The sex of Danielle's child is as of yet unknown. When speaking with Sayid, he asked her who Alex was, to which she replied "my child." IIRC, I also believe that she was pregnant when they shipwrecked as "The Others" came for the baby shortly after it was born.There's what appears to be a pretty good timeline (amongst other things) at this site. I haven't seen any spoilers there, either.

When I saw the impaled guy (sorry, forgot his name) and Jin looked at him and Mr. Echo said his name was... I just got the feeling that maybe he was the "Ethan" to their group who infiltrated them. Leading to his death and the tailies "trust issues"

I didn't at the time, but now that you mention it and coupled with Shuke and other posters saying that there was no sound as they walked makes me wonder if they were holograms or something.

They've been unknowingly strapped into the matrix. That's why locke suddenly gained use of his legs, he's not really able to walk, but the matrix representation of him can.Nobody has actually died, they've just been unplugged from the matrix for reasons only the dharma experiment leaders can explain.Interesting idea. You wouldn't hear/see it for a few episodes in last season either. It's due to make an appearance at anytime, I'd say. Especially with the tailies trekking through the jungle.

Good point. I forgot to write another of my thoughts down in my original post. We've been kind of conditioned to think anyone other than the characters originally introduced are "The Others." When I saw the legs going by, sound or no sound, with or without repeats, I just didn't feel like they were "The Others." Who? I don't know.
I think it was the whole "you will find what you are looking for when you are not looking" theme AND it was to help with Sun and Jin's back stories.Way too much focus on a wedding ring if you ask me...I mean, we have this friggin' network of bunkers and the why behind them... and the "others", and the "tailenders" and we spend half of the episode on that !#% ring?

Last night while watching this I almost felt like the legs were CGI or something. It looked weird and even my wife noticed that. I actually liked it as it made "the Others" even more mysterious. Still trying to figure out how Mr. Echo (my new favorite character) knew they were coming, yet didn't know Michael was less then 10 feet away from them when he left Jin at the stream. That part was very weird too.

She has a daughter, Alex, who was abducted by The Others soon after she gave birth. She has helped the survivors by warning them that the Others were coming, and showing them where to find dynamite to blow the hatch open, but she also kidnapped Aaron in an effort to exchange him for Alex.

Not a great episode IMO. Terrible flashback; what did it tell us besides the story of how Jin/Sun met? We already knew it was a rich/poor marriage. I guess we needed to learn that Jin's buddy is a psychic. 
Sun lost her wedding ring in the sand. <---Good call for whomever posted that last week. For the most part, the fuselage survivors were boring to me as well this week.Of course, the saving grace for this episode was the tail section survivors and the rafties.

Alex' sex has never been discussed. If you followed the season 1 thread, this was beat, resurrected, and beat again...repeatedly. The above web site is making an assumption and has a 50% chance of being correct.Go back and watch season 1 on DVD...never a "she" comment when referencing Alex. Danielle always said "Alex" and once said "my child."
FTR, I think Alex still has a pretty big part to play here.
I posted the same thing as GStrot earlier. I didn't notice any legs that looked remotely like a large man's legs. The bearded guy and the twins on the boat are not small guys, so I wonder who these "Others" were and if they are the same group as the ones on the boat.Hmmm, just thought of something interesting. What if all of those legs were from young kids? What if they have some sort of powers, i.e. why they wanted Walt. I keep thinking of a cross between the Christopher Reeve movie where all of the kids had mind control-type powers and Peter Pan/Lord of the Flies where the kids were the leaders. I know this is way out there, but it was just kind of spooky and that small group sure didn't seem like they could overpower 23 adults including a bad ### Mr. Echo.
No TIVO here, so work with me on this:The "others" walking through the jungle looked like they were being carefuly where they stepped. In my opinion, if they were holograms or CGI, it wouldn't matter where they stepped, as they wouldn't know what they were stepping on, right? Can someone review this scene and see if it looked like they were, or were not stepping over sticks and branches or whatnot. I seem to remember at least one of them purposely not stepping on a branch or something. I think if they were CGI or holograms, this would not be the case.
I think Danielle's child would be much older than the child carrying the teddy-bear. Based on how quickly the plane survivors got mixed up with the Others, I would think that Danielle's crew would have gotten mixed up in it soon after their crash. Now, that also doesn't mean that her child is exactly 16 because we have no idea how long it took Danielle to change the recording. We just know that it has been 16 since she did it.
